The best restaurants serving Fish chips food in England

Super fish and chips ! Welcome, service, food, wine all very good. We had lunch menu which was perfect for us. Other diners were getting well stuck in to what looked like great crab and other shell fish and huge portions of fish and chips.

Second time we have been here for takeaway. Fish and batter nice chips nice. Crisp and not greasy. Salad very large and nice. Not too expensive either. Would recommend

It was amazing the food was brilliant. Staff were really kind. The food was so good I couldn’t believe it I had to order seconds. I had Chinese take away and a fish and chip both were top tier. One of the best Chinese I’ve had in England.

Have been to Mary Jane's many times and always been very happy with the food. Went this week and ordered my usual Gluten Free cod & chips. This time I wasn't impressed at all. The batter on the fish was almost non existant. That caused the top of the fish to be hard and dried out and the rest of it just very dry. The chips were only ok, nowhere near as nice as usual. In hind sight I should have sent it back. Don't think I will be going there again

This fish bar has been recently renovated and has a fresh new look. As a person who is fussy about their food - I can honestly say I have always been happy with my food here. The chips are not too dry or soggy, same with the fish and the oil is fresh, hence a good balanced flavour. I know for sure being in any kind of restaurant business, its a hard act to follow - to maintain the quality of product and keep your customers happy. I wish them all the best and hope they can keep up the good work

Terrible service: The service was not at all enjoyable. My sisters and I are on vacation. Before heading back to our hotel we decided to stop for a glass of wine. All the restaurants in the area seemed to have long lines outside and when you look through the windows, the tables were occupied. This was the only empty restaurant. (I guess this should have been the red flag). We decided to stop in and have a few glasses of wine and possible order food. But we wanted to start with just sometime nibble on. The manager himself approached our table and informed us that we would have to leave in 30 minutes because we did not order enough food and they were fully booked for tonight. Only a two tables were tagged with reservations, the remainder of the tables were empty. (Please see photos attached). So this has prompted me to leave this review, because it was unnecessary and inhospitable of the manager and the waitress to rush us out whilst they ran an empty restaurant.

This establishment obviously does not like tourists, i expereinced a different level of treatment and dialouge than was given to a local. The server was not helpful, responding in very little responses. The fish and chips were poor, not cooked enough - i hate sloppy batter even though i requested well done to be cooked. A poor experience and WILL not use again or recomend. People that work in jobs that serve customers really damage the business if they are not happy. This guy was not happy and resentful.

Saturday the 28/9 Ordered meals on line as normal which was all wrong We ordered large cod and chips, 4 batterd sausages What we ended with was large cod and chips, one batterd sausage, one small cod and chip and one small chips. Shame we will not use corfe mullen again
