Marino's Fish Bar in Kennigton in Ashford

Cod or goldfish?? £5 for a small cod and it literally measures 13cm! The smallest cod I've ever seen. My daughter was very disappointed.

Food is generally good, but they do two really annoying things. If you order by phone they tell you a time and never ever meet the time. You are told 20mins and then have to wait another 20 when you get there. I have adapted my routine now so if they say 20 I turn up in 30 and still have to wait. It is very annoying. Also if you turn up on spec and order something they have ready, they still don't complete your order until the people in front of you are dealt with, even if their order is still being cooked. Their systems are crazy.

Ordered online went to collect order not excepted. Place look dirty and disorganized. No wonder it's up for sale

Ordered dinner for my parents.. awful food and tiny portion of fish and chips! They are pensioners so always share when we get a collection from Marino’s, will not be ordering again anytime soon

Marino's is always great, always fresh, always tasty! Staff are always friendly. It's a great fish and chips shop with the addition of greek food! Thoroughly enjoy using Marino's both this one and the other!

Shame a piece of fish now £10, but tasty like usual

Just ordered for 4 people costing over 50 only to arrive home to undercooked chips and pies that were that hard you could break windows with them so disappointed as this was until today our go to chip shop sadly we won't be returning

The fish was lovely however the chips, although there was a lot of them, were not very tasty at all maybe a little under done?

Looking forward to a one off treat with a takeaway after a long day. Ordered through Just Eat. Estimated 1 hour delivery time which it was. Hoped it would be worth the wait. So disappointed! Chips were so dry and stuck together like they had been reheated. Huss fish was small and batter was also very dry. Costing £32 for two adults - 2 fish , shared chips and curry sauce. Won’t be ordering there again. ☹️

Food took 1hr 15min to be delivered despite living 2 miles away and paying for delivery. Chips we're undercooked and really greasy, a lot of waste as a large amount of chips were stuck to the wrapper. Not much difference between a regular and large sausage. One pukka pie was mashed/squashed. Would have preferred to be told if busy so I could have arrange for collection instead. Unfortunately first time ordering from here. Will try to avoid in future.

Restaurant wrongly informed my husband that this order had been sent to the Beaver Road branch. The order was sent to Kennington - as confirmed by Justeat receipt. My husband had the choice to sit in traffic for 45 mins to collect cold food or pay for new food. We are awaiting a full refund from Kennington branch for this mix up on their part.

Waited over an hour for our food without any updates to then be notified that our food was delivered when it wasn’t so then had to contact and ask where the food was and it came within a few minutes. The food was okay we had ordered saveloys and they were a bit too overcooked and felt like we were eating rubber as it was hard and stiff to eat. Marino’s is always my go to fish and chip shop so was a little disappointed with this order.

The chips were small and very bitty ! Fish wasn't battered as I expected it to be !

This fish shop has been going downhill for a while. Last night we ordered grilled fish that was OK. The chips unfortunately were best described as the oldest potatoes that had been fried, and left to cool. Then warmed in the microwave. Horrid to the taste and looked unappetising. We also ordered a steak and kidney pie. This appears to have been left in the warmer until it had turned into a dried, hard inedible solid mess. I have had issues recently with staff attitude and the wait even when not busy. I think it's time that either the attitude of some staff improve, the food has to improve or maybe Marinos should stop attempting to serve food. Frying fish and potatoes isn't rocket science, maybe take notice of the higher numbers of customer issues and actually stop ripping off the people that have supported you over the years. There are two other fish shops close by that provide a far better quality at a lower cost.

The Greek food offering is amazing. Chips are a hit and miss with temperatures

We not from the area this chippy is in but stopped of as had been visting some of the local area, staff are very nice, polite and attentive, food was great, cooked fresh, was nice and hot and very reasonably price, if we're over that way again will deffo return to this place. Oh and the curry sauce was amazing too. If your there after 7pm you can park in the bus stop outside and eat at the benches outside if nice.

Greasy, wet, & congealed, worst fish & chips I’ve ever tasted.

Ordered the mixed Souvlaki box costing just under £10. Received a small portion of chips and 2 tiny skewers of meat. If it wasn’t for the amount of chips this wouldn’t even feed a child. Very disappointed.

Ordered a delivery of 2 gyros boxes. Chicken, chips, zatziki and salad. Well it was OK, no salad though, even though it states online. Phoned them and was told it doesn't come with salad anymore 🤣 £24 for a bit of chicken and chips fantastic!! The zatIki was lush though!!

We normally order from here with no issues however this time we didn't get an update until the order was already late and it had been over an hour, when we were then told they didn't have something we had ordered and that they were only just getting round to our order. If you're that busy please don't accept the order! When I called for an update 2 hours after ordering they said the delivery driver had left a while before so they didn't know how much longer it would be. Unsurprisingly when it got to us twenty minutes later, it was tepid, soggy and chewy.

Brilliant service, large portion sizes, kids meals were brilliant, and very knowledgeable about coeliac disease. They offer a grilled option for fish which was delicious and allergen free!

Awful order, practically raw chicken and pork on shish kebabs (like crunchy raw)in greek box. Had to cook it ourselves to make it edible but feeling ill now 😩

Chips were very dry and tasteless, Cod was okay, we were disappointed as we've been coming to you for Fish & Chips for many years.

Found this little gem whilst stopping locally before hitting Le Shuttle the next morning. 2 chicken and pork gyros ordered and consumed on double quick time certainly hit the spot for me and my wife after a 6 hour journey down (and two hours walking around the country park with the dog) Tasty, affordable and great staff :-)

The food wasn’t up to usual standard. Felt dry as if it had been cooked and kept warm for a while. I had called Marinos earlier in the day and asked to delay my delivery by an hour but this didn’t happen

Lovely selection of food. When the food was delivered it was still fresh and hot. A little expensive but it is good quality.

The Greek street food is to die for!

Absolutely stunning fish and chips here, I always have standard cod and chips and it's all freshly cooked to perfection. Friendly people, always welcoming. Large car park to the rear. This is my once a week treat. Fantastic

The Greek box was awful. Overpriced and looked like it had been thrown in the air and caught. No taste and an hour late

Chips were dry snd tasted of oil, battered stuff was greasy and dripping oil fish didn't have all the bones removed.

While the driver was very early (the website didn't update beyond the order confirmation), the Driver went to the wrong house initially as he didn't understand the lay out of the street. Thankfully the house he went to told him it was the wrong house.

The taste wasn't too good for me.

Busy on our visit, lots of people ordering Fish on Friday. Helpful staff, 11 year old son declared his chips "best ever had". Can't say better than that!

Chips were really salty but apart from that it was lovely! The burger was amazing as it always it.

The chips were floppy all stuck together and had so much salt on them that they were inedible- the batter around the haddock was really greasy - the scampi batter was soggy - the cheesy chips were floppy stuck together the cheese was just like rubber

I was looking for a new chippie after moving to Ashford and I tried a few, one day at work driving through Kennington I noticed another Marino's, so I had large cod and chips, it was great, only downside was I couldn't eat it all. Following Thursday had sausages and chips which were freshly cooked to order, (as is the fish) but decided that the cod was for me. I try to go in after work on a Thursday but I now have standard cod and chips as I find it's just perfect for me. So glad I stopped originally and I'm glad that it's all freshly cooked to order.

Still waiting for food & ordered it for 5:30 it’s now 6:10

Chips tasted like they was 3 days old orderd a burger with no salad no sauce came with salad all over it and soggy bap just overall not a nice meal

Yum yum. Batter was lovely and crispy.

Really good. Would love if you did a side salad you could order though for the gyros meat. But have to say always use you guys never had any problems.

I went to marinos chip shop a while ago and got a small chips and 2 curry spring rolls when I got back home I found that the spring rolls were really under cooked as a result I had a chronic gut ache for nearly a month. As a customer of there food I will not be going to them again so they have lost my custom.

Food was cold, chips tasted like they had been cooked a few times and was also cold. Burger was over done and had what seemed like a whole pot of burger sauce in it!! Onion rings tasted good but again they was cold! I won't be ordering from there again. I had to put a star for the restaurant service but I haven't eaten in there so I don't know what that's like.

First time ordering and the last time. Fish was soggy like it had been sitting there for days on end...chips were in a brown paper bag which had stuck to all the chips! Absolutely vile food!

This is the best chippy in the area! Delivery times arent as fast as some of the fast food places but I appreciate they are a very busy place and the food is def worth the wait.
