Service wasn't welcoming. Paid £9.60 for what was large portion of chips that were not a large size nor the quality. Over priced below par food would not recommend.

Had a busy day and decided to collect tea on the way home. Always friendly staff and good if using the app to order or just collecting a takeaway on spec. Usually have the cod and chips which is very tasty. The curry sauce is good too.

Food was average, service not great. Waited along long long long long long time for food in an empty shop which made the wait very awkward Please please don’t get suckered into the pigs in blankets for £4 however festive you feel. What a joke

Very disappointing fish and chips. Both the fish and the chips were undercooked and the mushy peas were very watery and tasteless.the portion size was okay

First of all card only, a big negative, the shop is clean and tidy but confusing with it separated to provide quick service and take away but incorrectly set out so unclear. I wanted 2 childrens meals of nuggets and chips as thats what the kids wanted and a medium chips for myself. Over £15, I know times are hard but this takes the Mickey. I had no other option after a long day and through gritted teeth paid. Big mistake unlike the portion size, my 4 and 6 year old polished the lot off and sat there still hungry, I wish I'd photographed the portion, I think I large potato cut into chips barely 2/3 filling the box. My portion at £3 was on possibly 1 1/2 potatoes sliced and cooked. The taste was acceptable, texture a bit dull but for £15 I'll never go there again.

We had fish chips sausage and mushy peas and it was all amazing. Also chicken chunks we loved too!! Thank you xx

Turned up at 8:55 and ordered large plaice and chips. Bloke with a beard is a lovely guy., could have told me they were shut but didn’t. Mixed up some new batter and served up an excellent meal. 5 stars for service and meal. Only down side was no cash. Note to owner, you are shooting yourself in the foot with this policy. Cash is king. Don’t be a plonker!

We have been using this fish and chip shop regularly since 2020 but in the last year the quality of the food has gone down so much chips are cold and taste funny. You have to keep an eye on your order or it will be quite often wrong unable to ring snd tell them about it as they don’t answer phone they say issues to be dealt with by email not much help when you are missing food and want to ring so you can collect it straight away. Delivery service never running. Overpriced rubbish. Will be looking for a new chip shop.

Possibly the slowest service I have ever experienced. Ordered 2 portions of chips, nothing else and had to wait over 25 minutes. I'm all for first come, first served but waiting for the 8 people in front of me to have their fish and chips for 4 people, when I could have just been given the 2 bags of (soggy, under cooked and under salt and vinegared) chips I ordered is just ridiculous.

This was our first time using this fish and chip shop and we were amazed at how good it was, the fish was a decent size, the chips were perfect and their curry sauce was just yummy. I'm looking forward to odering from them again!

I ordered 2 x chips and 1 sausage. Nearly 20 minutes later they called our number. The poor lady in front of us had the same wait just for 1 portion of chips. Long wait and expensive. Not at all impressed.

The fish was over cooked and flavourless, regular portion of chips was far smaller than usual. Battered sausage was over cooked, so were the chicken nuggets - over cooked and dry! This used to be a “go to” fish and chips, but never again! Would not recommend. Expensive and poor food quality.

We get harlees art least twice a week without fail on days off work, and its always beaut. Never get the wrong order, never overcooked or undercooked, always delicious. I really recommend the corfe mullen harlees. Plus the staff are always super friendly and helpful, making ordering and collection easy :)

We've switched to this Fish and Chip shop lately and have had a few deliveries. Tonight however we went in to collect and met Josh. What a nice guy! He promised us "The Best Chips Ever" and he was not wrong! His story of how he came to love his work in chip shops is inspiring. Here's a guy who loves his work, is great with customers and good at what he does.

Hot and tasty food! My family and I order at least once a week online for delivery! Every delivery has been on time and hot. Highly recommend scampi and the Haddock as alternatives to cod all the time. Meals for a family Buisness meeting or any occasion

We were desperate for fish and chips and the one in central Wimborne was closed, causing much wringing of hands. Lo! A mirage! "fanatical about fish" Harlees appeared on the horizon. They were on the verge of closing and the guy said he couldn't offer much but then provided everything we needed. A lovely lovely chap! Three very happy ladies over here. 5 stars.

The title just about sums it up. Been 3 x recently all excellent. Went on 11th March 2020 and there was a queue around the shop, only two staff working. Took ages to order. Potential customers were walking out. They had run out of haddock, but only told you after you had queued for 15 mins. Got cod and chips home. All soggy in oil and fish only half cooked. It was awful. On top of this tried to email them from their website and that doesn't work either.

Been twice now and on both occasions my order has had items missing wich is really annoying as we live miles away so phone up and get told you can come get it if you like with a 10 mile round trip not really going to happen food was nice when you do get it not sure i would return now as it seems to be a pain to get the order correct wich is a shame

After having a terrible chip.meal from harlees corfe mullen for years ,tonight was an exception ,wonderful meal brilliant service .Best ever meal .Well done to the girls from the close ,The A team Fantastic

Cod and chips, fish cake, saveloy, chips and a kids cod.. nothing overly difficult.. the 25 +min wait would suggest otherwise.. my father in law ordered after me (similar order) his was ready in 10 mins .. my order was no.63.. they were serving 73 before I questioned what was going on.. to be told they were packing mine now.. food got to the counter and it was someone else’s.. 3 more orders passed mine, one of which was a cod! No actual apologies, just a standard sorry for the wait that the lady behind the counter was saying to everyone before they even got to the till and when they picked up the food regardless if they waited 5 mins or 50.. the shop wasn’t overly busy. All it needed was ‘sorry sir, you cod is taking a little longer than planned it will be ready in another 10 mins’ a bit of customer service. Saying that. My food was lovely.. my father-in-law didn’t like the chips as they were really crispy.. which I like but that’s personal choice.

We have Fish and Chips from here fairly often. It is always busy as it is very popular with the local people. The food is of the very best quality and well worth trying if you are in our vicinity.

I stopped on my way home after working an 11 hour day. All I wanted was some chips, there were already 8 other people waiting. After waiting 25 minutes for my order, I was getting irritated as there was only 1 member of staff with a trainee serving. They were also taking phone orders.One customer got fed up waiting and told them to stop his order and walked out of the shop, another customer asked how much longer they had to wait only to receive the response "sorry for the wait but we are training" to which the customer responded, I have been waiting for over half an hour and my children will not understand that.I finally got served after 35 minutes. When I was served, I also got an apology to which I stated that they should have more staff on if they were training and to concentrate on the customers who had been waiting instead of doing phone orders first. By this time, there were 12 customers waiting for orders after mine.This is appalling customer service and I will definitely NOT be returning.

Visiting family from Canada and stopped by to pick up fish and chips for supper, fantastic! Bit of a wait but busy and ultimately well worth it! Special mention deserved for the chunky chips!

Our daughter has just started working in the area and have been to Harlees both times we have been down here.The food is always fresh and piping hot, it does take a little while to get the food, but it’s cooked fresh for each customer, so waiting a while is acceptable, better than having chips that are pre cooked and a bit shrivelled. We will definitely be back great food and reasonably priced.

Harlees chips are always like crisps.I might as well go to the co op and buy a packet of crisps as it's cheaper .I'm fed up with the chip shop selling me rubbish

Always go here because it’s my local, but the service is rarely quick. Had to wait 15 minutes the other day just for some chips! I think they must cook to order which is simply ridiculous. The food is pretty good though.

Friday night very busy waited ten minutes to get to the counter, and told “no cards tonight system down only taking cash”. OK, I can deal with that as the Coop cash point is close, but no gumption to put a sign on the door or tell people as they arrive. Basically, very poor service and bad management on the night. Travelled 8- hours to see my daughter and this is not what I needed.

We have been regular customers for years and it’s gone downhill real fast. Burnt chips burnt chicken nuggets for the last 3 times so bad were inedible had to go elsewhere for dinner tonight not quite sure what the staff were thinking that it was acceptable to serve food so bad

Just called in for scampi & chips & as shop was empty we thought it would be quick. Wrong! I asked how many scampi came in a portion and the older man cooking very abruptly said it was done on weight not numbers & depended on size. It was 150g he kept repeating which didn’t help at all. All we wanted to know was roughly how many to know how many portions to order. I couldn’t be bothered to ask any more & just ordered one portion. When it eventually came, after a very long wait, the chips were very nice & the 10 scampi were ok but nothing special. The young girl working there was very good though.

The food was absolutely fine but I felt really sorry for the young girl at the til on Friday 15th March. She was taking orders and serving while 3 boys were behind talking, joking, laughing. I felt so sorry for her. They could of helped her but no one did and it was busy I hope she gets the recognision she deserve I didn't her her name but she was a saint

I must agree with most here. Food was cold and hard when finally got it and wasn’t a big or difficult order. Seems the problem is understaffing. Lack of any sort of atmosphere causes the people waiting to get frustrated.

We've been customers at Harlees for many years and over the last 18 months, the quality and service has really deteriorated. The length of time that you have to wait is just ridiculous. There doesn't seem to be anyone senior running the place, just teenagers who don't seem to know what they are doing. If there is food there available, you still have to wait in a long queue - so if you just want a portion of chips, you still have to wait behind the seven people that are ordering for a whole family. At one time, the food was worth waiting for, but this hasn't been the case recently and tonight's fish and chips were really overcooked, bordering on burnt. It is supposed to be a fish and chip shop - how hard can it be? And is it really necessary to have to wait so long - only to find that your meal isn't actually worth waiting for? It also doesn't seem to matter how many times you complain either - so do yourself a favour and don't bother!!

This is the best fish and chip shop in the broadstone/Corfe Mullen area. The prices are very reasonable, cooked fresh always and the portion sizes areole generous than what you get at Daniels fish and chips in broadstone.

Weds 24th Oct just popped into our local Corfe Mullen Chippy for sausages and chips. Always a popular place I knew I would have to wait a little while!! There were sausages cooked and ready to go. One young woman taking orders, fulfilling orders whilst man behind the fryer barked instructions to her! Most unpleasant tone! Entered shop at 18.40 left at 19.15pm! You may ask why not just leave, go elsewhere?

Excellent lunch time snack. You won't see it on the board but it is a child's portion without the drink and toys for around £3. Quality is good and the staff are pleasant.

Called in for a quick dinner to take away on my way home. Great service, but the portions were small compared with some other local fish and chip shops. Batter on the sausage was very thin, hardly noticeable from a plain sausage..

Don't normally do reviews or surveys, but sitting here in the car, outside the shop, this is the best fish and chips I've had, and I eat a lot of fish and chips. And they sell this as a small portion of fish and chips!

Came in for a “regular” portion of chips for my little boy on the way back from his first nativity as a treat. Firstly 50p extra to pay by card in 2017 is crazy, but ok I was in a rush.

Staying locally while visiting family and consequently we tend to eat out.

Quality fish and chips of the highest order everytime, never had a bad take-away from this shop. The shop is always spotlessly clean, the staff efficient, polite and friendly and the speed of service (even at busy times) is exceptionally quick.

Well. Have been here a couple of times. Have to actually drive past the broadstone fish and chip shop to get to this one. Much better taste. Better service. Cheaper. Free sauce. Quicker service. What more can I say?

El personal era grosero y muy abrupto, tardó 30 minutos para conseguir un pez grande y patatas fritas. Parece ser dirigido por un viejito que cocineros y una señora mayor que no tiene ni idea de lo que está sucediendo. Cuando finalmente me dieron la comida que pedí estaba recocido y muy pobre. Acabé poniendo el pescado y las patatas fritas de distancia y nunca te aconsejaría comprar comida de esta fish and chips. Tome la opción segura y vaya por un curry en su lugar. Mark Mathews.

Waste of money. Shiney nice shop which expected better from and burnt crispy chips which we ended up throwing them away at next garage

No large cod, no pies (no not any!)No sausages , no Huss (does say when available) and no curry sauce.What we did have was nice, but was a very long wait.....I was told a very large order early in the day had wiped them out and they hadn't caught up all day.. Didn't really help us much!! 1 person taking money, 1 serving, and two cooking, seemed very understaffed to me. Overall quite a disappointing visit.

Called in last evening ( Friday) for three portions of fish and chips. Entered the shop just before 6.30pm and my order was taken within a few minutes, with at least six people serving and cooking I expected to be on my way soon, how wrong can you be with no clear leader and no organised system of dealing with the orders it was just total chaos.Some people were coming in with similar orders to mine and getting served straight away, a telephone order for 6.20pm eventually left at 6.50pm and finally after several other customers complained about the wait I did as well, eventually leaving the shop just gone 7pm.Whilst I have to say the fish chips were nice was it worth the 35min wait,the answer to that is NO especially when ther are several other chip shops around of equal standard.

I thought it's worth a try after few years ago... but no still same old bad not cheap waste of time food undercooked chip's. ..never again staff rude

Excellent food cook fresh upon ordering. Fish was stunning in light fresh batter. Chips were good, chicken burger stunning as well as the battered sausage. Price is extremely good. Highly recommended

I have just pretty much said the same about the Poole quay restaurant. Food is good and to be fair good value but definatly not as good as the past. It like a nursery school with children serving more interested in socialising than serving. Just always a long wait and it seems badly run. My concern is if they have low standards in the front what are the cleaning and prep standards like behind the scenes

A little on the expensive side, and one of the male staff looked a bit 'grubby' (which kinda puts you off) but as far as the food goes it was top notch. Good sized portions of both fish and chips, plenty of selection and pretty short wait-times considering it was a sort of 'rush hour'. If you are driving past, I'd recommend some chips and curry sauce just for the hell of it :)

Just had cod and chips from here. Portion size was great but fish and chips were a bit soggy. We also had curry sauce which was lovely!!! Apparently haddock was good too.

Have started to use Harlees more frequently over the past year and our last visit was two days ago.Ordered two large cod and one regular chips. The fish is absolutely huge and cooked to perfection but the chips are too fat and slightly undercooked. A free portion of mushy peas was also included. Unfortunately the food doesn't seem to keep warm in the bags provided so we always have to re-heat it in the microwave when we get home, which doesn't improve the quality.The restaurant is extremely popular and constantly busy, which means waiting time can be as long as 15-20 minutes.

The Cod and Chips here is very, very good. This is a local 'chippie' so we have used it a number of times. They do a variety of other meals if you wish, but the majority of people go for their really fresh fish. Fridays can be very busy but the service is always reasonably quick.If you are a fish and chips person, you really must try them.

I live in Corfe Mullen and normally go to creekmoor plaice but couldn't be bother to go the extra few miles. Big mistake, Friday 13th November staff were arguing about the next order, waited at least 30 minutes. Small portions and average fish and chips. Next time I will make the journey to creekmoor plaice it is much better. Corfe Mullen deserves a better fish and chip shop !!'

This not a full style restaurant but a Fish & Chip shop with an eating bar. Stay and eat or take the goodies with you. Quality fish and chips, moderate price, with good selection of other complements. Friendly staff. Good English style frying. Cooked to order. The Lunch-time Saver is really good value.

2nd time of going to Harlees on Poole Quay and the food has been very good not greasy and also Good value for money would visit here again

Harley's always used to be the Main Chippy we'd get our Fish & Chips from as a family, but in the past year the quality of the food has gone downhill a lot! Fish has been Over cooked and dried out on a good few occasions! Don't know whether they changed their Batter recipe but it's awful!No longer go there as sadly we no longer enjoy their food!

Not at all impressed, food was luke warm and small portion even though ordered a large fish and chips, not cheap so expected more!

Chips were under cooked and Really greasy and portion size is terrible however this is my local and and never have a issue with the chips. Looks like a new member of staff. (Maybe Will try again soon)

Harlees on Poole Quay! On a wet and windy night, best fish and chips served. The fish is freshly cooked and is amazing!.

Bought a large portion of chips which only seemed to be a good handful. So i had order another regular size chips and got the same amount as the large! On returning home to eat them the chips were hard and tasteless. Either leftover from lunch or just not cooked properly, truly awful and expensive too.

Normally sing their praises for good food and service, however, we complained after we were sold inedible chips. We were given a refund and replacement. Wish we hadn't bothered, on reordering we felt that we were being bothersome and again the chips were inedible. Total waste of money! We complained via their web site (which is out of date for prices) but have had no response.
