Nous sommes allés diner en famille (2 adultes et 3 enfants) dans ce restaurant lorsque nous recherchions un "bon" fish&chips et nous n'avons pas été déçus ! Plat copieux comme il faut pour un bon mangeur ! (possibilité de portions plus petites pour les enfants). Points de désaccord entre nous ... le fish&chips peut être jugé d' "un peu gras" (panure). Possibilité du choix du poisson pour son fish&chips. Excellent cadre, personnel très sympathique et accueillant. La carte offre bien sûr d'autres choix dont un de mes enfants a choisi le poulpe grillé, excellent ! Je ne dirai pas un rapport qualité/prix excellent, le prix reste "Londonien" et fait un peu descendre ce rapport. Le commentaire porte sur le restaurant, nous n'avons pas fait/vu la partie "take away".

Visited last night for the first time in ages. Unfortunately it seems they are happy cruising on its previous reputation. The quality has slipped considerably but the prices have gone the other way. We ordered skate - a speciality - however the person serving didn't know what it was! Eventually we ordered Skate and chips at £16.00 and cod and chips at £14.00. Which was not a problem had it been nice. The skate was a middle piece and the flesh was dark inside, not white and fresh as expected, the cod was like blotting paper, not a flake in sight! But the chips were the worst, hard and dry, absolutely awful, flavourless and inedible. Almost identical to the pictures in an earlier review. What a shame, for a once so revered local fish and chip shop. There other establishments nearby who serve better quality fish and chips at half the price and I would strongly suggest that you look elsewhere! Up your game Seashell!

This is great for traditional fish and chips. If you are hungry and not watching your weight you couldn't do better than this

Person that took my order was grumpy and my overpriced Cod & Chips (£15.50) was a small portion and soggy. I'd highly recommend going somewhere else

This was my favourite retaurant until yesterday We had a counter service meal (we usually eat in the restaurant) the counter service area is comfotable & clean. Unfortually the Cod was average but th chips were disgusting almost inedible with no member of staff to complain to so here is a photo.

Wonderfully fresh fish, beautifully cooked and with monstrous portions of chips, all served by a brilliantly efficient and smiling waiter. What's not to love.

The Dover Sole was cooked to perfection, and JACK provided excellent, first class service.

I introduced a friend to the delights of the Sea Shell, Lisson Grove and the restaurant didn't let us down. The service and the food was excellent. My dover sole covered the plate and was grilled to perfection. My friend's sea bass was succulent and just fell off the bone. My friend was super impressed as was I. The Sea Shell never let's me down.

El pescado muy bien. El puré y la ensalada, flojos. Las patatas muy justas.

There was no vanilla ice cream to go with apple pie. Our booking wasn't a late booking we were booked in at 7pm. That was a bit disappointing.

Niestety, byłam bardzo rozczarowana tym miejscem. Stoły były brudne. Ryba usmażona dobrze (nie była surowa) ale do jej przygotowania nie użyto chyba żadnych przypraw. Frytki zrobione z ziemniaków z wieloma skazami (zielone, czarne kropki). Do ryby nie podano ani groszku, ani żadnego innego warzywnego dodatku. Wnętrze przypominało mi polskie sklepy mięsne za czasów komuny. Na plus mogę wskazać bardzo zyczliwą i miłą obsługę.

Curious place. I had some fish and chips with mushed peas. I think that the fish was crispy and the chips had a satisfying potato flavour. However, despite the seemingly high-quality ingredients, this did not jive with me. Maybe fish and chips simply is a dish that doesn't lend itself to excellent culinary experiences? Maybe it's just me who can't appreciate an otherwise terrific dish? Either way, I would hesitate to eat here again, especially when taking the steep price into consideration. The mushed peas were not good. They tasted like overboiled peas that were mushed coarsely without seasoning or additives. At least it lived up to its name.

The quality of the food is excellent and the service especially was brilliant very helpful and welcoming.

Good for traditional fish & chips, we took friends from China who loved the decor and ambience. Great service bright, enthusiastic and happy to share their advice on emnu chices. Would recommend for those who like fish particularly traditional fish & chips.

My recent visit to seashell for a Saturday lunch left me thoroughly satisfied.It was clear that the fish was fresh, the batter was light and crispy, providing the perfect contrast to the tender fish within. Paired with perfectly cooked chips, every bite was a delightful combination of textures and flavors. And the homemade tartare sauce is a must try!!!! Beyond the food, the lady on the counter was friendly and attentive, ensuring that my dining experience was nothing short of spectacular.

Ordered a delivery via their own website - driver never showed up. Called the restaurant - manager’s response was that I had to contact the app they use as from the moment the food leaves them it’s not their responsibility. There was no way to contact anyone else as App4’s only contact number is for their office which was closed. I called the restaurant again but repeatedly no answer. So I am still left without any dinner and £35.50 poorer with no way of resolving. Horrendous customer service, and a baffling approach to doing business.

Worst fish and chips I have ever had, and also the most expensive. The fish was lacking salt and had NO seasoning. Literally any cheap, street-sold fish and chips is better. Staff was nice, though.

Every part of this was quality. Ordered cod but the waiter said ‘go for the haddock … trust me’ and he wasn’t wrong. Really enjoyed this place and on a Sunday evening no tourists and plenty of space.

I’d say probably the number one chip shop in London or possibly joint place with Nautilus, highly recommended, always super busy so be prepared to wait

A delightful seafood restaurant with excellent service. We were a large group who were catered for without issue. Most of us went for traditional fish and chips. The battered fish was light and crispy with moist cod/ haddock and tasty chips. A range of additional sides. Yummy, I highly recommend!

Terrible service received in this joint. So called fish and chips. They are only interested in overpriced soggy chips and grumpy serving chip sellers. Horrible experience and they treat customers like conveyor belts. Their salt, vinegar, ketchup and mayonnaise are all used and touched by the general public...so ignoring totally cross contamination. Good luck to the false good customer service they pretend to have. Never again. Total waste of time and money. 1000% dissatisfied

Lunch today at The Seashell of Lisson Grove was excellent!! The food was delicious, loved the bottomless chips! Truly a classic and quality fish & chips experience! Mushy peas and tartare sauce were good too. You can see from the photos here what some of the food looked like. Even the background music was great and the waiter was lovely too - thank you! Will definitely be back!

Tolles fish-and-chips-Restaurant. Sehr frischer Kabeljau, sehr schmackhafte Chips (nicht fettig, aromatisch), einfallsreicher frischer gemischter Salat, sehr große Portionen.

Wurde mir wärmstens empfohlen. Vielleicht war ich deshalb sehr enttäuscht.

Travelled a long way with high hopes, only for them to be dashed by soggy chips. Fresh fish, although the batter was soggy. We would rate it a 6/10 (at a push). If you want to have 9.9/10 fish and chips then try number 5 on the “Time Out” list.

Last Thursday night I visited this take away and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of their food. The fish and chips were delicious, hot, and crispy, just as they should be. The batter on the fish was light and crispy, One thing that stood out to me about was their attention to detail. The portions were generous, and the food was served in a clean and presentable way. The staff were friendly and helpful, thank you lylianna and nàdia, making sure my order was correct and asking if I needed any sauces or extras. In terms of value for money, I was very satisfied with what I received. The prices were reasonable, and the quality of the food was definitely worth it. Overall, I highly recommend to anyone looking for a delicious, affordable, and well-presented meal. I will definitely be returning for more of their tasty fish and chips!

I recently visited this fish and chips take away shop and was thoroughly impressed! The food was absolutely delicious - the fish was fresh, crispy and cooked to perfection, while the chips were golden and crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The portion sizes were generous, and the prices were very reasonable for the quality of the food. The Boss lady is incredibly fast and always take care of our needs, thank you 😊

Metto le immagini di come è adesso (fine dicembre 2023) il locale. Le immagini di altre recensioni non sono come è adesso il locale. Il posto è minuscolo e al mio arrivo l’ho trovato molto sporco in terra e unto sul tavolo. Comunque in un’ora non ho visto mai nessuno venire a pulire in terra o i tavoli. Il pesce è nella media, non è cattivo ma nemmeno così buono da ritornarci. Mi aspettavo molto di meglio dalle recensioni a 5 stelle. Nella media. In Italia mangi di meglio in qualsiasi ristorante di pesce.

Excellent dining! We arrived early in the day and were fortunate to be able to sit at the large table surrounded by the aquarium - a terrific experience! The fish was wonderful, the kids loved the “cod soldiers” and adults got fish and chips (one cod and one haddock). The take away service is on the corner of the building and faces the main street and the dining restaurant is a few meters down the side street. Looking forward to our next visit.

A dreadful disappointment! After our long awaited reservation, the anemic chips, soggy fish, ghastly mushy peas, etc., we will never return to the abhorrent Seashell!!

Enjoyed the family meal … great they do GF batter but rather disappointed to be told that yes we do GF but the oil will be contaminated….. may as well not bother with GF if that’s the case. But the food we had was nice.

Stopped off for an early dinner around 6:30pm. Ordered sausage and chips and mushy peas. Sausage old and flabby, chips tasteless, mushy peas OK. Shambolic service, three staff just hanging about aimlessly, had to wait a good while for the food after paying even though only a few customers and the chips and sausage were ready, just nobody arsed to serve it! Shocking how bad this place has become as it used to be the best. Better off to go to The Golden Hind in Marylebone Lane which is far superior.

Sadly, after many years of visiting this establishment, our visit on 11th November 2023 was shocking. This was our first visit since the Coronavirus Pandemic, we arrived at 9.41pm after travelling a long distance for what has always been a monthly treat (pre Pandemic). The people serving were not at all pleased to see us, we placed our order including a fishcake on it's own (I have a receipt to prove it) the lady who took our order was asked to confirm our order by the chef, he shout angrily and aggressively at her "No Fishcake" . She then came to us and said, "sorry no fishcakes but you can have anything else", we reluctantly ordered a portion of Calamari. The woman who appeared to be in charge was hostile and rude to the lady that was serving us and demanded that she go down stairs to get Tartare sauce. She was not at all pleasant to us neither, it was very clear they wanted to close up, all be it there was a good 15 mins before closing at 10pm. Unfortunately, to add to this hostile reception, the food was awful, the fish and calamari was tasteless despite being freshly fried for us, the mushy peas and tartare sauce were equally as tasteless, the chips, although freshly fried were a little undercooked. All in all our £40.50 meal we travelled miles across London to enjoy after several years of not being here was truly disappointing. As a resident of Maida Vale in the 80's and 90's, we have been patrons of Seashell since the days when Princess Diana and her children frequented this establishment. I'm without a doubt this establishment is no longer run by the previous owners, as the level of service and the quality of food is no comparison. Needless to say I will no be recommending Seashell or visiting again.

Whitebait starter was somewhat greasy. Main of haddock & chips was excellent. Service by Alina, a new waitress, was top class.

We ordered three portions of Cod with Chips, the fish was completely blend and the table where we are was really dirty and sticky.

Staff very helpful in finding us a table even though we arrived 45 minutes early. Attention to detail not so good as some errors in our order . Fish and chips were ok but no better than average.

I had the best fish&chips I've ever had in the UK.. I didn't like the London pride beer so far but it was my choice among the selection they offer you. Service was excellent, the waiter exceptional.. I would definitely come back for another fish&chips there.

Asked around for suggestions on a great Fish n chips dinner while visiting London. The Seashell was mentioned several times by different locals. My daughter and I decided to give it a try. Very fun atmosphere, the staff was very welcoming and very friendly and accommodating. But best of all was the fish dinner. Light and flakey, the breading was perfect, chips also perfect. They had a lobster soup that was also very good. I’m so happy this place was recommended!

What a shame! This used to be THE fish & chip shop - we used to hold events there as it’s reputation was amazing but my, how it’s changed. Wrong order, twice, waiting time horrendous, and the food was awful. We don’t even think the cod was cod - thin tilapia more like. Very disappointing indeed.

I have been meaning to come here for over 30 years, no kidding, and I finally made it. It did not disappoint. I brought a couple of visiting tourist friends who were looking forward to Fish & Chips. They were delighted with the experience; the fish was plump and moist and the chips were ideal - not soggy! Both our waiters were polite and made a fuss of us, which my visitors loved. Thank you all, front of house and chefs.

The food is very good but the service wasn't great. We had to ask again for our drinks and the waitress took our bread basket away when it wasn't finished. We weren't offered anymore chips either. For the price of the food, we expected a little more.
