I was at Greggs in Whitley Bay last month and found the bin over flowing with rubbish each time. The table area where you get your milk and sugar was sticky and messy! Also there wasn't always serviettes handy. The cafe area is closed at the moment but last month I saw customers cleaning their own tables! This is not right. We are still not over Covid yet so cleaning is very important. Just saying.

Came for breakfast today and paid 9 pound it came out cold so when I sis finally get the attention of staff they took food away and come straight back saying hear you go I've warmed it up in the microwave will not come again

El mejor lugar para las vistas, pero los precios son extorsivos. Alrededor de 7 libras la pinta, pero supongo que estás pagando para ver el increíble puente. Aparcamiento razonable a £ 3 durante 2 horas. No probé la comida así que no puedo comentar pero la cerveza está bien a pesar de estar demasiado inflada

Elegí esto para un almuerzo de comida rápida y estoy contento de haberlo hecho, pollo perfectamente cocinado, patatas fritas picantes gravysnd fantásticas. Grandes porciones, demasiado grande para mi esposa a mi ventaja.

I decided to try a new fish and chip shop yesterday and settled on here. I ordered fish, chips and a battered sausage. The chips were average and not the usual style of soft and crispy chips that one expects - some may have liked them but they weren’t for me. The fish was soggy and bland and the batter tasted of oil and had no flavour to it. It was one of the worst pieces of fish that I’ve had in a very long time. The sausage was no better. I gave the inside of the fish to my cats and threw the rest of it in the bin. Needless to say, I wouldn’t recommend this venue nor will I be back.

Not a very nice experience. The fish was soggy and pale and didn’t taste too great. The jumbo sausage was small and the curry sauce was expensive for the size. Was very unhappy with our meal.

Staff very friendly and helpful when deciding what to have for the first time. Very clean seating area and kitchen sparkling too. Food- burgers very tasty, seasoned as they should be and cooked to perfection, lovely and juicy. Fries were fresh,crispy and very good value for money. Move over five guys this places tops you on flavour and much more affordable. Milkshake also very creamy and flavoursome made from real ice cream! A must try restaurant or take away :) We will be back…. Thank you

The most down to earth Staff with outstanding quality of food! Great offers on daily and very reasonably priced! The beef brisket is the one to try! Would recommend to anyone and everyone!

AJ's is a great place to pop into for a sneaky pasty. Once again the staff are friendly and helpful and the food is fab! I'll be back.

Working on a site down the road, I thought I'd give this place a try. It's restored my faith in sandwich shops. Often, these type of shop serve tired salad in bland bread with fillings that seem to be 90% mayonnaise, serving as edible glue to unidentifiable mush. Then, there's the big chain named after a New York Public Transport System. I find choosing the options stressful and baffling. The operative behind the counter treats me like a I'm Forrest Gump's undiscovered, less-intelligent twin. Just give me a sandwich, please. You might have gathered that I'm hard to please. I'm not. I just want decent food in generous portions, served by cheerful folks. Yes, Fatso's does this. You won't get lightening-fast, brain-dead, "have a nice day" service. The girls take their time. There's not a hint of rush, and this is just fine. No impatient stares from the John Cleese Customer Service Manual, salad tongs held vaguely like a weapon,and an undertone of "hurry up so I can get the next punter processed" Meanwhile, enjoy watching their banter with regulars, and chuckle discreetly at their occasionally zany humour. It comes free with the food. It's not your average shop.I may be back.

The minced steak pies weren’t ready so I had a meat pie, which actually has the same minced steak filling, and a chunky steak pie. Both very nice and a good price too.

Popped into Dottys on a Saturday lunchtime, mainly for a milkshake for my step-daughter. There is a large choice of milkshakes for £2 each, cream and sprinkles can be added for £1.50p and a doughnut for 50p. We went for both choices. She was very excited and said the milkshake was lovely. The doughnut, when I picked it off the top of the milkshake, felt very stale. We decided to order food. There is a small selection of meals on the menu including breakfast, toasties, paninis, burgers and ham, egg and chips. Smaller portions can be made for younger children. We both ordered a bacon sandwich and a portion of chips. The bread was cheap, only 2 slices of bacon and the handful of chips we received for £2.50 for a portion was a disappointment. My step-daughter had a toastie which came with salad, coleslaw and tortilla chips which a pleasant surprise. When I went to pay, the lady who served us picked up our tab piece of paper which clearly had been totalled up but then proceeded to go through my entire order with me, writing down prices and adding it up again, only to reach the same price as the initial tab form said. I then attempted to pay by card which took forever to make a connection and then said payment not accepted. I was made to feel like this was my fault and that I didn’t have enough funds in my account which was certainly not the case. Luckily I had cash so was able to make a payment. Would I return again? Probably not, unless just popping in for a drink as a treat. Basic, overpriced food and milkshakes and average customer service.
