Love this Chippy, very friendly and normally cooked to order meaning the food is hot. The portions are excellent (get 2 meals from a portion).

The food is so good and also it is way better quality then McDonald’s I brought a cheeseburger for only 3.50 and a chips for only £1

Man in charge has no people skills. Rude or grumpy you choose. Chips fair. Fish very nice. Not a cheap meal anymore. Won't be calling again.

With an observed staff change the quality of the fish has significantly reduced. Previously, this was one of the best in the area but now seems to be similar or lower quality than the competition

Fish wasn't fresh, too greasy, bland breading, and also greasy chips. No good taste. Disappointing overall experience.

The fish and chips are lovely, but I was disappointed with the scampi which was the cheap, reconstituted fish type.

Several take away, venues in close proximity. But this is the local's favourite, and justifiably so. Great fresh fried fish, and huge portion of chips, as in small is enough for 3.

Can't understand why there have been such poor reviews of this premises. Friendly staff, great service and excellent food - substantial portions as well. Colleagues of mine from away have called in here and they too rate it as one of the best they know of - well done!

I found the staff to be a little bit rude, jibber jabbering away loudly in foreign. Also the qaulity of the food is middle of the road tbh, you do get alot though, too much if anything. Its defo quantity over qaulity here. Top fish and chip prize goes to flinders in donington! Its muuuuch better!🐟👍

Really nice freshly cooked fish, not too greasy. Chips were not bad either. Fish quantity was generous for the low price. The amount of chips was ridiculous, we got a large between two and ate less than half!

Great little chip shop, could do with being a little bit bigger in the customer area, usually cramped with lots of people. Parkings a little awkward as there's only one or two dedicated spaces.

Went to get takeaway after going to the local pantomime. Ordered cod and chips, a little g easy but very tasty. The portions of chips are huge, 1 large portion would serve as 6 ave age portions

Great chippy. Aways fried fresh not left in the warmer for ages. Large portion of chips feeds a family of 3-4! Cash only, but cashpoint is round the corner outside the Co-op. Overall a great chippy!

I have used this fish and chip shop for years and intend to continue to do so, the quality of food is great, never had an issue with wrong orders or being overcharged etc. The staff are very friendly and when I was younger would give me a free lolly pop whenever we bought food from there. 😄 The prices are reasonable and reflect the quality of food and generous portions sizes well. There are two parking spaces directly in front but if that isn't enough, there are spaces around the memorial opposite. Overall very nice takeaway, would definitely recommend.

Seems decent for a standard fish and chips shop a lot of people coming in so must be very decent but it's my first time here so my ratings may be deceptive but rember for better or worse so it's gonna be up to you... 🤔

Just got fish and chips from here, the fish was that large it hung over the sides of the plate. It was freshly cooked, hot crispy batter and succulent white fish. Blooming beautiful. Lovely staff too. ❤

Popped in for a quick bag of chips for lunch, this place has seating, chips were fresh, a little under done for me, filled a hole, nothing special, beware the vinegar on the tables it's very strong (no complaints) small size is okay for a young one, teenager and above, i'd advise medium and above.

I didnt go to the codfather. I went to the barber shop round the corner where they always do a great job cutting my hair, but google isnt smart enough to realise that and asked me to review the fish and chip shop. I hope you enjoy your fish and chips. I can also recommend the barbers shop.

We regularly use The Codfather, and have always had great food from there. The staff are friendly. The portions of chips are huge, and we shared one portion between 4 and there was plenty! Great local business.
