The best restaurants in Wellswood Torbay South West

Lovely atmosphere from the moment we walked in on a wet damp Friday in February Staff were attentive, helpful Monkfish bites & Crispy Beef were delicious, I had the flat iron steak, cooked perfectly, tasty, the ribeye was excellent as was the Chateaubriand! Two of the party had dessert the Baked Alaska & Rum babas both were plentiful & tasty The only criticism I have is one of the party had a Brandy to finish, he was asked by the young lady would he like it warm, when it came over it hadn’t been warmed, we told the young lady who apologised,took it away brought it back on top of a glass with warm water, I’m sure you have one maybe just popping glass on a brandy warmer would be much nicer A lovely meal with family will definitely be back

We nearly missed you. What ravishing reviews! As is often the case had been meaning to visit this fab little café but it's taken a message on Facebook to learn you're moving on. Excellent toasties today, generous fillings and delicious. Great coffee. Clearly supported by locals and regulars. Doggy friendly and thankfully no plastic plants! That alone is worth a star. So much choice and all beatifully cooked and presented Some of the desserts had too much cream for me to tolerate but the staff found differant options for me-nothing was too much trouble

Fantastic food there are no words, superb food is the nearest I can get. Staff fabulous attentive professional all I can say is thank you guys .

Classic Restaurant experience with authentic "old school" chef.

Stunning hotel,this was are 2nd time here and i don’t usually go back to the same hotel! However we will keep coming back here. John and Jane are amazing at what they do. Breakfast is the best we have had and the rooms are absolutely stunning.we absolutely will be back

A wonderful room and excellent breakfast. A very comfortable bed. The added bonus of two chairs and a table also fridge if needed. After going elsewhere after a long drive we realised how good it was here. Great value and just yards from restaurants. Such lovely owners who always talk to you . Wouldn't going anywhere else.Will stay again when we can. Best b & b we've stayed at in 50 years.

Really enjoyed it however having food where people can walk across in their robes is a bit weird. We had food and went to the spa after and didn’t like that we had to walk past people dinning in our bathers and robes

Due to bad weather at the beginning of December my wife and I stayed another day in Torquay. We had absolutely no hesitation in booking a table for our meal. Despite going to the same restaurant 2 nights running it was still worth it as the menu is so varied. The Staff are all friendly and very helpful. In fact there is nothing that the waiting staff is too much trouble. I would like to say a big thankful for Ning who was our waitress that evening. This young lady was very efficient, polite and a great sense of humour. Her personality in fact matches the atmosphere in it making it very relaxed. The restaurant is very clean.The location is a nice little walk from the beach in the town centre. Every time my wife and I go to Torquay this is one restaurant that we will head for as it is really worth it. T

Another lovely stay at the Balmoral. Clean and comfortable. All staff very friendly and efficient. Food super and varied and catered well for gluten free. Evening entertainment very enjoyable. Have already booked another stay.

The set menu lunch was delicious.

Not been to restaurant since it had moved to the strand Really well appointed. Great ambience with high ceilings and muted lightening. Plenty of staff who were charming and very attentive Food excellent. Wine not terribly expensive It was an office party of 10 so timing important but not a problem

Very Good Italian food and nice restaurant. This was a Saturday evening visit and was busy. We were seated upstairs . For starters I chose the GAMBERI ALLA DIAVOLA £10 Tiger prawns sauteed with garlic, fresh chilli, white & Italian bread. For main I chose the SALTIMBOCCA ALLA ROMANA £21 Veal escalopes with sage & parma ham cooked in butter, wine and lemon. They were very well presented, cooked just right and tasted delicious. We chose a bottle of the Sauvingnon Blanc £29.95 which complimented the meal well. The service was good and friendly.

We went with the family today for breakfast and were definitely not disappointed at all. The food and drinks served today by ( sorry I didn't get her name) a lovely girl who was very polite indeed. Also as it got less busy, she also started sweeping up the debris that had appeared on the concrete around the cafe ( well done) 👍 With the blue skies and warm sunshine the view was fantastic, and very nice to watch as we ate our breakfast. A secret diamond of a place and well worth a visit if in the area.
