The best restaurants in Wellswood Torbay South West

The staff were great, the food was tasty, the prices were scary! I think I'm obviously out of touch but I definitely couldn't afford to take my family there. I had the butternut squash main and it was delicious but very small. Thankfully the staff kindly added a side of fries! At £19 this was the cheapest main meal on the menu, which is not why I chose it, but it did help! Another thing to note is that this is one of those places where for many meals you have to buy your sides as extras rather than them being included. The wine was lovely and desserts were delicious and beautifully presented.

We nearly missed you. What ravishing reviews! As is often the case had been meaning to visit this fab little café but it's taken a message on Facebook to learn you're moving on. Excellent toasties today, generous fillings and delicious. Great coffee. Clearly supported by locals and regulars. Doggy friendly and thankfully no plastic plants! That alone is worth a star. So much choice and all beatifully cooked and presented Some of the desserts had too much cream for me to tolerate but the staff found differant options for me-nothing was too much trouble

Booked a table for a Saturday evening sitting by email which was replied to very promptly, arrived early and had a couple of pre dinner drinks served by the very friendly barman. The dinner itself was extremely good, wife had belly pork and I had the steak accompanied by vegetables, all very good quality and extremely tasty. The staff deserve a special mention as they were attentive without being overbearing, in fact everyone was a credit to the restaurant. If we’re in the area again we’ll be back for sure.

Great hotel: fantastic decor, lovely building, great breakfast and most importantly lovely hosts. Would definitely come again! Short walk down to the harbour and restaurants.

We visited for the third year running and we have been happy with the hotel every time. The weekend deal is great, the food was excellent and the room pleasant. The staff are always welcoming and the evening entertainment is a bonus. It is close to Meadfoot Beach and walking distance to the town although it is quite a steep walk back but it can be done by bus that stops right outside the hotel.

What a place! The staff were lovely and just the right level of attentiveness. Couple of mistakes but we are only human and the staff dealt with it quickly and professionally. We went for Thursday Steak Night and the steak was one of the best steaks i’ve had, couldn’t quite match the one I had in Uruguay 🤣. Seasoned just right and cooked perfectly to medium-rare. The red wine jus was outstanding, and the house wine is now going to be on our wine rack. Thanks to all the staff, including the chef, who made our evening; we will be back again for some more steak!

Simple and delicious Italian cooking that hits the spot. Whenever we are in Torquay we make it a point to go and have always enjoyed our meals. The staff are friendly and accommodating. The dining room is clean and relaxed. See you next time.

It was our first time eating here and what a lovely experience it was. Staff were very polite and efficient, plus the service was good. Food was top quality. We ordered the Duck and it was fabulous, we could not fault the dish. We would go as fare as to say, it was the best duck we'd ever tasted !! We decided to have desserts. These too were fabulous and beautifully presented. We had the Chocolate Cake and the Tiramasu. I've got to add that it was the best Tiramasu I've ever eaten, and my fella really enjoyed The chocolate fudge cake. We will definitely be returning and can't recommend this place enough. THANKS FOR A LOVELY MEAL AND GREAT SERVICE AND ATMOSPHERE
