We nearly missed you. What ravishing reviews! As is often the case had been meaning to visit this fab little café but it's taken a message on Facebook to learn you're moving on. Excellent toasties today, generous fillings and delicious. Great coffee. Clearly supported by locals and regulars. Doggy friendly and thankfully no plastic plants! That alone is worth a star. wow wow wow, we love this place, the food is fantastic and is the best in Torquay, the ingredients are fresh and everything is well presented and perfect, the welcome is always spot on as is the service, if you're like us looking for somewhere with a consistent great welcome, and the most amazing food and time to relax and enjoy in a friendly cosy place then look no further, this place will not and never disappoints, we will be back again and again and will continue to recommend to friends and family without hesitation, this is how a place should be run, it is perfection in every sense, well done for getting it spot on, many thanks and see you again real soon x

Find this little gem of a Rustic artisan bistro on my trip to Torquay. Amazing staff and all the ingredients were of the highest quality and cooked beautifully. A lovely serene place to rest and recuperate . I would highly recommend you seek this cracking place out... and only 5 minutes from the town centre. Keep up the great work. We will definitely be back. It's a 10 from me !!!

We had a warm and friendly welcome, and the food was really nice. Would definitely go back. Very enjoyable. Highly recommended as the food and service is really good. Well worth a visit.

On Sunday 19th March, (mothers day) a family arrived at 3pm for an afternoon treat. A Grandmother, Granfather, two daughters and two grandaughters sat down for afternoon tea. A pot of tea per person was delivered to the table along with an assortment of sandwiches, scones, jam and cream, plenty of cakes and all decorated with large fresh strawberries. There was also a vegeterian version supplied as requested. This establishment is giving a fantastic and very affordable service to the public and we can thoroughly recommend them to cater for all occasions. A very enjoyable experience enjoyed by our family. The staff and owners of the restaurant were all hands on, friendly and welcoming.

I have been eating at this cafe every week for well over a year and never experienced anything other than 5* service and food. The quality of the locally sourced food, great coffee, very tasty home made soup, vegan/vegetarian sensitive menu and warm welcome from the owners when you arrive is more 6*star

Came in for a full English breakfast and was extremely disappointed with both food and service. My food was like drinking a plate of grease and when I asked about it, they replied ”That’s how it comes”. I will not be returning as I am extremely disappointed in both service and food. This is not a representation of Torquay

We were welcomed at the door and shown to our table. My wife and I and our eldest daughter then chose our drinks and meals from the extensive menu. Freya our waitress was very attentive, obviously very capable and new exactly what she was doing. Thank you Freya for your excellant service. Both of the owners at different times, approached our table for an informal chat, which we found to be very satisfying, making us feel really welcome. The meals arrived after a short time and were all piping hot and very delicious. We all tried "Freya's favorite" orange chocolate drink from the specials board, which tasted superb but not too sweet. Overall, the experience was sufficient enough for us to wholeheartedly recommend this establishment to anyone who is looking for an enjoyable experience along with it's very excellant service. Therefore with this in mind. we are seriously considering the "private hire" of this establishment for a larger family get together in the very near future. Excellent food, friendly staff, nice atmosphere. We had breakfast here 2 days running, food was very tasty and well cooked. Friendly and helpful owners and a great little cafe. Good sized bagels too! Very tasty. Definitely worth a visit.

Nice food, nice service. Would have given these a 5 but both Latte’s were only warm when served which I think is an easy thing to get right especially when the coffee itself was great. Definitely worth a visit.

This is a delightful, cosy cafe offering a really good range of vegan food. It is clean, well-spaced despite being small, and the host was thoughtful and attentive. Had a fantastic vegan breakfast this morning, the host was very friendly and welcoming, the food was amazing and there was loads of it - be warned if you “go big”! This is clearly somewhere that cares about the quality of the food and the experience of the diner, COVID precautions were sensible and didn’t ruin the experience, highly recommended.

We visited twice - I am vegan, my partner eats meat. We were both really impressed with the quality of the food and the portion size - and the price. The coffee was extremely good too. Vegan waffles very tasty. No downsides really from us, a lovely place, they deserve lots of customers.

We intended to visit a number of places to have breakfast but having been to daisy's first we just kept on going back. The vegan breakfast was brilliant. The best we have tasted. Craig made our visit extra special with his very warm and welcoming approach.

What an incredible place no matter the time or occasion. The food is incredible and very accommodating to all! The staff are so welcoming. All I can say is Wow! Couldn’t recommend it enough. Defiantly worth a visit! 5*****

Where do I start? Craig and Jenny were so attentive. Antonio cooks the most amazing food. The food was amazing, such an extensive menu. Could’ve chosen the whole list! Loved every minute we were there. Will tell all our friends about it and will come back again and again! Love it!

We booked on one of the burger themed nights and we certainly were not disappointed. Two of us had a beef burger with pulled pork which went down very nicely. I had the Cajun chicken burger which was the best chicken burger I have actually ever had! All of the ingredients were of the highest quality and the service was really quick. The drinks list is vast and there is definitely something for everyone. We all had waffles for dessert which were amazing. The owners of this cafe are great and they go out of their way to ensure that you have everything you need and that everyone has a great time. Cannot sing it’s praises enough! We will definitely be returning and will always book because it was full when we went. There were lots of people walking by and popping their heads in only to be disappointed that they couldn’t get a table. Well done to the owners for this little hidden gem.

In one respect I want to keep this place a secret because as soon as people start spreading the word it will probably be difficult to book a table!Tonight I was part of a party of 15 diverse people with different likes and tastes and we ALL came out singing Craig and Co's praises. I think we all opted for the different types of two-in-one pies . Although not a vegan (nor vegetarian) i could easily be persuaded to become one because of my meal . Apart from the food being so tasty, and well presented with excellent service I don't want to add any more except to say it was very good value for money.

A really lovely cafe, the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and even informed us of the themed nights they do. If you are a vegan i cannot recommend this place enough! I had an amazing burger with "cheese and bacon" and even had a plant based milkshake! We went as part of the eat out scheme but the prices are very good without it so will definitely be back! They even do vegan waffles which i need to try!! Thank you so much Daisy's!!

We booked ahead to eat here based on previous reviews and the cafe's Facebook page. We were not disappointed. This spotless cafe serves all day breakfasts, sandwiches and other light bites. We all enjoyed our lunches and the children loved their freak shakes. The owner was friendly and welcoming, and we will return next time we find ourselves in Torquay.

We have finally found a cafe in Torquay that cares about offering a proper vegan menu. Our food was fab and the owner was very welcoming and helpful. They also allow dogs so none of our family has to miss out. We will be returning

I visited Daisy's on a Monday evening for vegan night and wow! Was very impressed and super happy with all of the food! We ordered most things off the menu to share and it was all cooked to perfection! Amazing atmosphere, friendly service. 10/10! Highly recommend! Can't wait to go back! Thank you!

Superb bacon/eggs/sausages in a bun was how I first discovered the delights on offer here when I lived just two doors up the road.Today my work colleague and I ventured in for lunch. I ate, he didn’t; foolish and his loss.Service is spot on, socially observed what with the current shenanigans, no loss with that though and the place still maintains a lovely atmosphere.The omelette I ordered from the menu was touted as “a chef special”; Simple but knockout!Well done chef, indeed it was a special omelette!PROPER coffee washed it down.Places such as Daisy’s are a rare thing in Torquay, its all too easy to find a chain or suchlike now and not support a local business.My advice is this - Pop Daisy’s at 480 Babbacombe Road into your Sat-Nav.Sit back, relax and savour this little bit of wonderfulness.

Hubby, two kids and I just had a wonderful breakfast here! Friendly service and great food (the bacon and tomatoes were amazing). They’re in the Eat Out scheme so it was fantastic value. I would highly recommend it and we’ll probably go back again this week!

I had a vegan burger with ‘tiger fries’ which were amazing! Had a hot chocolate for dessert which was also delicious but drank it without taking a photo. 10/10 would definitely recommend!

Have been a regular at Daisy's for a long time. Breakfast is super, they use quality meat but have all vegan dishes too. Evenings are fun and relaxed. The food always great! (Shhh!)

We had a lovely meal at Daisy’s last night. They had a Vegan night and all of our party really enjoyed including the non-Vegan!We enjoyed the Steak et Frites, Truffled Mac & Cheese, Moving Mountains Burger & Wets African Peanut Stew. We also tucked into some lovely starters and desserts including Bruschetta, ‘cheesy’ garlic bread, waffles, sundae & affogato.The choice of drinks was good as was the service.We’d highly recommend anyone making a visit, we’ll be back soon for breakfast, they offer them for all dietary requirements.

This is a smart little cafe owned and run by a young local entrepreneur, Leo, who is very passionate about his establishment. He will meet you and greet you with a charming smile as he takes your order from a modest list of fantastic breakfast and lunch dishes. These dishes are promptly cooked and served up by the lovely chef Becky who puts her passion for cooking into every fabulous meal. The desert menu is supported by the family owned bakery, Daisycakes, right next door with some of the freshest and most beautiful looking pastries. The hash browns and poached eggs were amazing the first day and today I had the Belgian waffle with eggs and bacon today and will return soon for about 3 other dishes I am dying to try. My partner, who is vegan, has said the vegan breakfast is "spot on" as you Brits like to say. On top of the great food and friendly service, Leo and Becky are two of the nicest people we have met on our summer vacation here in Torquay and their kindness is complimented by the locals who stop in for a bite to eat, sharing information or polite conversation in this beautifully rustic cafe on Babbacombe Road.

I don’t want to be too harsh, it is a lovely cafe the staff were welcoming and the coffee and tea were good.Unfortunately we didn’t order cake so I can’t comment on that.We had a large breakfast each, we found it not to the quality we expected with such great reviews.A bit of constructive criticism, people except better quality produce now, we both couldn’t eat the sausages as they tasted very cheap and we even wondered if they were vegetarian.As Typical British we obviously didn’t complain and don’t want to be too harsh on here.Just to recommend that the owners buy better quality products and put their prices up to reflect that.Myself and I’m sure other customers would be happy to pay more for better quality food.

Wow these folks know their cake and tea. The area is rightly famous for cake and our holiday rental host pointed us to this place which was wonderful. They have non-dessert foods too but I didn't get that far. Super-nice, friendly people too.

Second visit to Daisy's, not your typical greasy spoon type of cafe. Quirky and fresh decor, friendly atmosphere, very reasonable prices. Coffee and food is delicious, food is piping hot and tastes fresh, not dripping in grease. Fab little find. Definitely returning.

Another great high quality breakfast, and the usual friendly service. Our favourite cafe.This time I had avocado and bacon on toast though usually I can't get past the special scrambled eggs with everything in. Husband had his usual medium breakast. Tea made with tealeaves and several hot water top ups. Perfect!! And of course the lovely brownies to take away for tea.

Metimos en aquí para un rápido desayuno con un amigo. Aunque este comentario es para al lado de la memoria, que se llamaba "Daisy". Estoy 99% seguro de que es la misma gente que dirige daisycakes y tienen dos premisas uno como una especie de cafetería/restaurante y uno como panadería. De todos modos la comida y la relación calidad-precio era excelente. Mi amigo tenía huevos revueltos con pan integral y tuve un pequeño desayuno caliente. 13 libras tanto para incluyendo una bebida cada uno y las comidas eran fantásticos. El personal era muy amable. Un encantador desayuno delicioso y sin duda volveremos pronto.

We visited 'on a wim' today and can highly recommend it to anyone. The couple that own and run the cake shop are fantastic company and great fun. Only expecting to stop for cake, and ended up choosing lunches of their awesomely varied menu. Can't wait to visit again!

We booked Pie Night for twenty four friends actually had the cafe sole use as so many of us . The Pies are simply delicious , a modern take on a traditional dish , choice of four pies including Vegetarian , three mash and select your Gravy choice .John and his team couldn't have been more helpful with the organisation and service.It's so refreshing to have such a cool venue in Torquay something a bit different . As its BYO we were able to take our favourite tipples such excellent value Pie at £8.95 and £3.00 for pudding . John played some cool tracks and a fun Friday eve was had by all . Need to book as its so popular . Will be returning very soon .

We booked for their evening meal and it was lovely. It was pie, mash and vegetables with a lovely cake for afters. Lovely food and a great atmosphere too.

We already know they do great cakes, coffee and breakfast so we thought we'd try their pie and mash evening. (Friday and Saturday evenings). Good choice of pies, three different mashes including sweet potato and choices of gravies and sauces. All cooked fresh. Bring your own wine. Great choice of cakes and tarts for desert. Friendly and helpful owners. Well worth seeking out.

Lovely cake and coffee cafe. Very friendly proprietors, individual contemporary and quirky decor. Would be popular in Manchester's Northern Quarter, or the Bristol or London equivalent I'm sure. Also some interesting artwork by the artist Neverwork. Been here a good few times now and will return (hopefully by then I will have relocated to Devon)! Well worth a visit. And the cake is delicious.

Recently had my baby shower at Daisy Cakes and It was brilliant, we had a party of 20 and was able to hire out the whole cafe. We had a high tea with miniature sandwiches and cakes (Kate's speciality). There was a great selection, from mini macaroons to scones. Everyone of my guests absolutely loved the cakes and especially the baby shower cookies. Staff where brilliant in severing everyone's needs. We could not of picked a better venue, perfect for the vintage high tea party I wanted. Would recommend it to anyone. 110% satisfied. Thank you John and Kate.

My wife & I needed a lunch time break at place 8 (The Torquay Museum) on the Agatha Christie Mile walk. We were recommended to try Daisycakes by the museum staff , as their own cafe was closed . We were delighted with both the quality & service we received there for our lunch for two which came to about £14 including our drinks . Definitely the place to be if you are in Babbacombe Road ......

We popped in with the family and had breakfast and a great coffee, This is a lovely cafe with great décor. The owner seems to enjoy making coffee and in fairness he turns out a great cup and to the standards of the bigger chains.The breakfast was enjoyable and like the fact that anything that could be grilled was making it a healthier option. This lovely lady baked me some lovely special fairy cakes for my granddaughters 21st birthday recently. She even delivered them for me as I live far away. High recommended.

A place I have visited a fair few times, staff are always welcoming, helpful and friendly, The breakfasts are so tasty, the sausages are delicious, The last time I went I had lunch with my daughter, I had the club sandwich, and my daughter had the small breakfast, we were both very happy with how fast the food came out even though they were quite busy, and as always the food was superb, Then we had cake, I had the Oreo cake and my daughter had a brownie,Both were delish, Such a lovely little cafe, shall be returning soon, thank you to all the staff John, Becky and Eli

We have regularly had the pleasure of eating at Daisycakes for something like two years and have found them to be nothing short of excellent. The coffee is the best served anywhere in Torbay and the cakes; as well as the other food offerings: are utterly delicious, professionally baked and beautifully presented.I must add that the previous comments added by 'expat_iberia' are a complete travesty, totally inaccurate and frankly downright nasty. If they feel they can do better with a £2 cake from Tesco then why not pop along there instead of badmouthing an excellent establishment such as Daisycakes, or better still, why not pop off back to Barcelona and see what you can get for £2 in Spain!

We had a fantastic cake for Christmas from this shop/cafe. Based on this we decided to order a cake to celebrate my mother´s birthday. I am sorry to say that in this occasion the cake was not any better then the ones offered in tesco for under 2.00GBP. We were so disappointed as our expectations were well higher based on their other performance. Not sure if it has changed the baker, but we won´t be going there again.

Went in for late brunch on Saturday, I had the Full Breakfast and the other half had cake. Well the sausage, bacon, mushrooms were so flavoursome, lovely cherry tomatoes and perfectly cooked fried eggs. All washed down with proper leaf tea in a pot with a fab knitted cosy! So, we originally visited Daisy Cakes when we were searching for somewhere to do our wedding cake. I visited first, as I had done with other bakeries, to check out the goods as such before saying that I was there for a possible wedding cake. This place does THE BEST cakes ever. Moist, delicious.. even the drinks were awesome ! We had a white chocolate hot chocolate, a tea and a latte.. My nan said the tea was the best she had ever had so that is saying something ! We then had three different types of cake and were won over, so I later messaged Kate to talk about wedding cakes. The whole way through the process, she was polite, friendly and really helpful. When me and my fiancee popped down again to discuss details, Kate was great and listened to all of our idea and gave lots of suggestions herself. We then had some more cake ( of course) which we were given on the house, a nice touch. The waitresses are always friendly, and the guy that works there (Kate's husband?) is always incredibly welcoming and great to chat with. On the day, the wedding cake was delivered seamlessly and it looked fab! It taste even better and everyone commented on how lovely it was. I couldn't have asked for anything more at such a reasonable price.

Yesterday we decided to have lunch at Daisy Cakes after all the very positive reviews on Tripadvisor. I was not disappointed. My wife ordered a sandwich mature cheddar, ham and chestnut. It was absolutely delicious. The homemade scone with cream and jams tasted like I want more. We did not taste the tasty looking pies and cupcakes, but we tried the rocky road. It was lovely. We had to take a few pieces for later. Don' t hesitate and visit Dasey Cakes. It will not disappoint you either.

Taken me a while to write this but... got our wedding cupcakes from daisy cakes and they were amazing and delicious, the derail in them was fantastic and they were very reasonable mmm mmm wish I had one now!!

I went into daisy cakes yesterday and I had a large breakfast and it tasted absolutely amazing it is best breakfast i have ever had i could not belive how well my eggs had been done i can't even do them that good myself. I have been going into daisy cakes for a while now and a lady called becky has been doing my breakfasts and lunches and i am very pleased with the presentation and the taste of my food. Thank you daisy cakes .

Called in for lunch following recommendations from friends, we were not disappointed. I opted for a club sandwich, followed by coconut cake. Both were excellent. My wife had a Canadian BLT which was also great. My daughters both opted for breakfast items followed by cup cakes. The tea was loose leaf and the coffee was excellent. Highly recommended.

The breakfast was awesome, I had the large and my daughter had the small, cooked to order came out quickly and lovely freshly made coffee.The staff are very friendly and helpful.Will returning to try the lunch menu soon as it looks Very appetising

We booked for 12 of us in this lovely little place for my best friends baby shower. The table was really well set up with lace table cloths and mis matched china for our cream teas! We had lovely finger sandwiches, scones, macaroons and of course cupcakes!!! I knew they would be amazing as Kate had made the cupcakes for my wedding 5 years before, they did not let me down!!!Over all a really great afternoon with great service and a amazing crea tea! Thank you Daisy Cakes!

Have continually visited this establishment since John and Kate started their venture.Splendid provisions and service, due to the talent of all concerned, best thing to happen to Torquay in years.Coffee and cakes to die for - thank you for your continued excellence in what you have created and long may it continue and grow.

Had a sandwich and a cup of tea the food was lovely and the service was really good and there was plenty of choices of tea

Visited after seeing the good reviews online and was not dissapointed! The cakes are out of this world and a huge selection on both our visits. A lovely little cafe and very welcoming and friendly. Will defintly be returning on our next holiday to Torquay in 2015.
