We had a lovely time here, food was lovely, staff were really friendly and able to give great recommendations, drink selection was good. Food was authentic, we came here because few places said they were open on bank holiday Sunday, but we were so glad we did.

Brilliant food as always, always try to go if in Torquay. Good idea to book in advance, the owner is always fun and the two waitstaff are lovely - always recommend! Also I highly recommend tr Goulash

Fabulous restaurant! The food was amazing and it was so nice to see such a different & varied menu with traditional Austrian dishes. The owner is lovely & funny as were the serving staff. I can’t recommend this place enough! Owner/chef produces the most amazing food, waiting stuff was absolutely brilliant. We had surprise birthday party of 11 people and everyone was very pleased with food and atmosphere. Owner is very friendly and accommodating, nothing was too much for him, he let me bring birthday decorations before the birthday, all our requests were met with a smile! If you looking for special place with great food Old Vienna is THE PLACE!!!❤️

Lovely place, amazing staff, amazing food. Perhaps a little pricey but it’s worth it. My only complaint is the bread they serve as appetisers - It’s delicious and there isn’t enough of it!

Went last year for my birthday and would highly recommend. The owner is lovely and they really encapture you with their hospitality. On top of that authentic Austrian food what's not to love. 😊

The lobster, salmon and scallop ravioli starter was delicious, as was the sticky date toffee pudding, but I was extremely disappointed with the scallops as a main dish; It was literally double the size of the starter, which didn’t feel like a proper meal at all. The scallops tasted over-cooked and the sauce was overpowering!! The service was great but it didn’t make up for the over-priced food. I don’t mind paying more for something high quality, but the food is definitely not that. A bit of a let down. ☹️

Staff were lovely. food was kinda odd in flavour and very small.. Dessert was lovely. Left feeling hungry and over priced . Sadly... won't return... shame as we had high expectations.....

Seriously, the food here is amazing. Probably one of the best meals I've had at a restaurant for a while - if you're lucky enough to be close enough book a table. The apricot dumpling was also the biggest surprise of the night. Thank you Chef!

The food was absolutely lovely and the service went above and beyond. The chef and owner took time to come out at the end of the meal to talk to us, explain more about the restaurant and the cuisine, and get our feedback. Really showed how he cared about his customers. Highly recommend it!

We have just has the best meal we've had in a very long time. The staff were absolutely amazing and catered to me having 2 starters instead of a main course. They were both sublime. We were even given a complimentary shot after we paid. Honestly can't recommend enough. 10/10 for food, drinks and service.

Staff fantastic.. Food amazing. All cooked by an amazing chef fresh produce sourced daily ,fish game a d other options(it's hard to make a choice as it's all so good 😃) and Werner the chef always comes out to chats

Great place but we had a problem w one of the dishes.

Managed to get in on a busy Friday night. Food was amazing. Locally picked Cèpes, gently breadcrumbed and served with a subtle garlic sauce. Side of Salmon with a hint of smoke, with veg. Veal schnitzel. Tender and soft. Plus house pudding! Great staff. Wonderful service. Delicious food. Great ambiance! Thank you!!

Me and my husband Went here for our 1st wedding anniversary tonight, glad we did the food was outstanding and very tasty the chef did amazing job…. both the chef and waitress worked very hard and kept checking if everything was ok with our meals the place is lovely clean and friendly there too I will definitely be going back there 100% I highly recommended it to anyone looking for good food 😍 even the chef makes the effort to come out and see everyone

Flawless & divine! We had chicken, venison and sea bass. I don't think my partner ever was that speechless, and he is basque and super demanding on food quality. "delicious meat!" This restaurant lives up to its ratings 150%!! We will return, no doubt! + the staff is lovely

A very highly rated place and for good reason judging by our visit. We were fortunate to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary here. If it hadn't had fell on a midweek day then I feel we wouldn't have got in. It's an unpretentious dining room and the atmosphere was very relaxed. The menu is a bit limited and any fussy eater like me may want to phone ahead to check what's on offer. We had fillet steaks and they were excellent, together with a nice selection of vegetables. Note these are included in the price and they can do a bit of "mix and match" across the menu. The desserts were simply sublime. Despite its popularity and reputation we thought the prices are very competitive even compared to lesser establishments. It's a small bar but we were happy. The service from our friendly and attentive waitress was exemplary.

This is a hidden gem, a little out of town but so worth it. We arrived as a group of 18 to celebrate a 75th & a 50th birthday, we could not have been made more welcome by Werner, Julie & Sue. The food was delicious the atmosphere & ambience was stunning and the service was excellent! Highly recommend to all, all 18 of us loved it!

We went to The Old Vienna last night for a birthday celebration and had a wonderful time. The food was absolutely delicious and Werner and his staff couldn’t have been more efficient and friendly. We will definitely be going back and recommending it to our friends.

Small establishment, pre-booking is best. We were lucky enough to get a slot without booking on a Thursday evening, but it was a close call! Excellent food and service. All food, including the bread, is made in house. An enjoyable experience.

As everyone says, fantastic food, warmest greeting and treatment from staff who'd obviously love being there. Book well in advance! This is the kind of establishment where they do one sitting per table per night. 22 covers, so 22 meals served per night. Many dishes are Austrian, then Austrian chef is also the owner and wonderfully charismatic. The food is not shy in flavours. Even the snapse at the end is home made. We'll be returning.

Excellent, professional front of house staff who were attentive but not over bearing. The food was amazing, the chef bringing complementary schnapps and having a chat about the food at the end really added a friendly touch. The wine we had was lovely too!

A brilliant restaurant with fantastic menu. We had the Scallops, Lobster Ravioli for starters, Duck breast, Beef Fillet for mains, apricot dumpling and pancake filled cherries for desserts. The staff were very friendly and the owner made time to talk to every table. A great fine dining experience.

We were made very welcome in this cosy restaurant. It was subtly decorated and immaculately clean. The food was excellent and and a fine house red completed a fabulous meal. Hubby thought the complementary schnapps was water and poured himself a large glass full and knocked it back to the amusement of the staff. This will be on our list to visit regularly in the future.

Been there tonight, food was absolutely beautiful, greeted by the owner on arrival. They even swapped the chorizo on my girlfriends meal for some of the wild mushroom risotto from another dish. Absolutely amazing service and food.

This was a second visit first time was amazing second very disappointing food lack lustre portions much smaller then previously ,bill expensive all the more annoying by having to eat something when we got home as still starving.
