Had a lovely meal at Ollie’s on a busy Saturday night. Definitely make a booking if you want a table. We had bread and olives to start, and then we both had fillet steak. Both steaks were cooked well to our requested temperatures, and the chunky chips were excellent. To be honest, we were too full to have dessert, which was a bit of a shame! Excellent restaurant, well worth a visit

Very friendly professional service and absolutely wonderful food. All three of us thought the food was superb. If you are looking for a real top quality meal don’t think you will find better anywhere.

We visited Ollie's on our first night in Torquay. The restaurant was conveniently just a stone's throw from our hotel and we booked for an early evening meal. We both chose one of the steak dinners offered and were not disappointed. However, soon after our food arrived, another couple came in to sit opposite us at the other window table. It was obvious that the friendly guy who showed us to our table earlier knew this couple and proceeded to chat to them from his position behind the bar - very loudly and at length. It was impossible to ignore his conversations and it has to be said that this rather spoiled our enjoyment of eating at Ollie's. Our intention was to book again whilst in the area but I'm afraid that put us off and we ate elsewhere. Nevertheless, we really enjoyed the food at Ollie's.

Superbly cooked and presented food and attentive and engaging staff. We loved the starters and in particular the fish main courses

Called in for a family dinner, service was fantastic and attentive, the food was spectacular, the Tomahawk steak for two was probably one of the bests steaks Ive eaten, the way it was cooked and the flavoring was something else ! In summary I would highly recommend and a special thanks to the staff for finding my daughters phone, thank you too for a lovely evening and dining experience.

So happy we choose to eat here. The food, service and atmosphere were amazing . We had the crispy beef to share then enjoyed the steak night deal. We highly recommend this venue.

I came twice to the wine/cocktail bar and once to the restaurant. Both were excellent but Ben in particular was outstanding. I enjoyed the cocktails and steak especially and the atmosphere was relaxing in the restaurant and fun in the bar (which had live music)

The second time I have eaten here. I had the fillet steak and it was absolutely delicious, Staff were amazing too. 10 out of 10

We were in Torquay with family to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary and visited Ollies and Bit on the Side. The welcome we received was so friendly and Ben's cocktails are amazing. He even went the extra mile and made my favourite cocktail which wasn't on the list. Thank you Ben, you made our night and hope to see you again in the future.

Visited here for the first time as part of a family celebration. My parents had visited previously and were keen to dine here again. I can see why as it's a great restaurant with a fantastic menu, friendly staff and a lovely atmosphere. Ben in the 'bit on the side' is especially a credit to Ollie's. We'll be sure to visit here again when next in Torquay.

10 out 10 for the food, drinks , hospitality and great value. 3 of us ate here on Easter Sunday where the food was very good with a very relaxed and chilled out atmosphere with great background music. Excellent hospitality and attention to detail we will 💯 return. Warm Regards.

We went for a lunch with the £20 set menu, it was delicious and so busy. Added on thr chips and veg! We were so full. Will definitely be returning.

Amazing food, brilliant service and great atmosphere. The staff are super smiley and friendly and the steak is incredible - a must go if you’re in the area.

First visit last night. Got to say the experience was very, very good on all counts. You can count top restaurants in Torbay on one hand and this is one of them. To many it may perhaps seem a little expensive. It isn’t because you get what you pay for. Five of us dined, one a child and everything from start to finish was Michelin plate/ Bib Gourmand (whatever it’s called now) standard- service, drinks/ wine menu and most of all, the food. We had a mixture of starters including the ‘classic’ prawn cocktail, which was agreed as being very good in terms of the balance of the sauce in particular. Scallops were served in shells, again ‘classic’ style and were plentiful, very tender and the garlic butter base was perfect. Monkfish bites, pitted olives and sourdough all to the same standard. Main course chosen by both couples in the party was the Chateaubriand special, to share. This included two small glasses of house wine (good quality) and worked out at £30 each, including ‘chips’, which was very good value. Why? Well we had the meat medium rare, being nicely crusted and slightly blackened on the outside, the meat so tender inside and tasty. Great butcher, great cut, cooked to perfection. The chips were simply the best I’ve ever had. Fact. The only markdown was atmosphere- not the restaurants fault. Just the fact that there were only eleven diners in there- but it was a rainy Wednesday night in Torquay! Background music was good, Service was really good- the waitress was happy to engage out banter with a smiling face- that’s how the job is done. Top marks all around.

Great location withing walking distance from the theatre, shops, harbour and even the arcade games. The ambiance is lovely and chic. The ladies uniform dresses are stylish and classic. Callum was our server and was not only great at being a server but also at bantering with our group. The food was excellent! Yes, a little pricey but as a treat well worth it. Try the cocktails if you can, the bartender is incredible. We hope to come back again soon.

This was our first time visiting Ollie’s. All the wonderful rumours are true. This is a fabulous restaurants that definitely warrants its reviews and high place on trip-advisor. The service is impeccable, nothing is too much trouble. The food is also excellent. We will definitely be heading back soon and recommending it to friends and family. We came for a date night and were so pleased we chose Ollie’s. We had never been before and were warmly greeted at the door by staff. The staff were friendly and tentative throughout the evening. A pleasant team of people offering a professional service making it feel like eating out was a nice treat. The food was delicious, my partner had the steak and I went for the lamb. We enjoy good quality dining and this did not disappoint, the meals were full of flavour and were clearly good quality produce. We finished with a cocktail which came with live acoustic music in house! We will absolutely be back again and would highly recommend to foodies and people looking for a great atmosphere with even better staff! Thank you

Amazing valentines dinner from the moment we walked in Manager Alan made us feel so welcome with above par service and explanation of the menu / wine selection after he set us down. He handed us over to Imogen who looked after us the rest of the evening. We had the freshest mussels, hands down the Tomahawk steak with chips and vegetables was perfection. Absolute value for money. The sticky toffee was out of this world recommended by waitress Imogen who was absolutely fantastic throughout the evening. As Londoners my partner and I were not expecting this level of service, smiles, great food and what a beautiful ambience. Ollie’s is a must have when in Torbay thank you Alan & Imogen!!
