My partner and I stumbled upon The Lighthouse on the first night of our three night mini-break in Torquay on 30th July. We were made very welcome by Lizzie who served us with refreshing cold drinks served in chilled glasses. Heaven on the hottest day of the year so far! We were so impressed with Lizzie, and the lovely friendly atmosphere, that we booked for our evening meal the next night. This time served by Saoirse, another warm and friendly welcome, so we booked for our last night! This time served by Lizzie again. The service in The Lighthouse is exceptional, the welcome is warm and friendly, the food sourced locally by the Chef is delicious and excellent value for money.

We had a lovely time for lunch at the Lighthouse Café. Congratulations to Sophie for her first day of service! Sophie is interested in customers; she even wanted to speak French with us. It was very nice ! Finally, we found a very good espresso (like in France)... not so simple in England... Bravo to you, keep it up and good luck to Sophie!

Excellent lunch today good value for money, tasty food, staff all very nice Sqolrse and Cori looked after us. We will definitely revisit next time we are down.

Fabulous little nugget of a find in Torquay overlooking the harbour. Took my mum out for a day trip and Ollie the retriever came too, we were looking for a coffee & a cream tea so googled dog friendly cafes and the Lighthouse was top pick. Didn’t disappoint either. Lovely girl served us, very friendly as was the guy and the dog was treated like royalty. Jars of treats, water bowls and even choice of blankets and beds for the dog 😊 Coffee & the cream tea were delicious and we will be going back for sure on my next visit that’s a promise. Ollie says it can’t come soon enough 🐕 5⭐️

Absolutely beautiful little cafe on the Harbour. We had the crab and prawn salads which were both so tasty! The staff were also so friendly and welcoming… would definitely return! 🙂

I ordered the Crab sandwich which is a complete rip off. It had thick bread and the thinnest spread of Brown Crab paste in it, you couldn’t have put less filling in it if you tried, and not a bit of White meat to be seen anywhere. Also the price on the Google website is wrong, it’s now £12.95! It’s a great shame because when you visit beautiful Devon you hope for more but there’s always someone waiting to take the …. Thanks for your reply. I shouldn’t have to come in and tell you how to make a Crab sandwich. If you can’t get it right first time you will lose customers, that’s your shout.

It was a busy elevenses for me and wanted somewhere different. The server meet me with a polite smile and offered space for me to enjoy. The menu is traditional, and there are choices for all times of the day. What made this trip special was how open and welcoming the staff were. It takes less time and effort to be this way but few get it right by going above and beyond. Well done, and I hope the Chef, who owns the place, gives back to the staff as well as they give to customers.

Nice dog friendly cafe, with pleasant staff. Had the stack of pancakes. Very disappointed. Very small, more like pikelets in size and expensive for what they were. Coffee was good.

The food here is AMAZING and the service even better…ate here with my family which included my daughter and disabled mother in law, the waitress was so attentive to my mother in laws needs, nothing was to much trouble, and we didn’t even have to ask when we needed her drinks put in her special cup, or a spoon instead of a fork to eat her meal, she just knew what we needed and fetched them over, the waitress and the chef were both chatty, and happy throught, the chef even gave my daughter a bag of 2p’s for the amusements that made her day, had the nicest experience of any cafe I’ve ever attended with my mother in law, and I thank you both for making what can sometimes be a very trying time when you have someone with a disability to look after feel like a very chilled enjoyable evening, if holidaying here again we will 100% be back!!! And if anybody ever tells me they are visiting torquey you will be highly recommended. Thank you both so much from all of us

Myself, my parents, Grandfather and Puppy ordered food and drink at the cafe today and had an amazing experience! The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, holding open the door for us and showing my Grandad to the accessible toilet. The staff brought treats and water out for our puppy and gave her lots of attention. The food itself was lovely and very fairly priced given the location, atmosphere and quality. We had a mix of sandwiches, draught cider , larger and milkshakes! We would definitely recommend coming to this cafe! Thank you so much to the lovely Saoirse for taking such good care of us all!

We popped in for a light lunch and instantly felt at home. Comfy seats, nice menu, friendly helpful staff. Super decor and 100% dog friendly providing water treats and beds for canine clientele. Not that you would know that they were there as they were so well behaved.

Called in this morning for coffee with our two small daschunds and what a welcome they got, well we did aswell for that matter. They brought a pet bed, water and treats a fantastic place to visit with your fur babies. Coffee and food first class. Highly recommended

This is a great café on the harbourside in Torquay. The food is excellent with a great choice and the setting is lovely with outdoor seating, if the weather is good enough! The staff are really superb and make you welcome. Lots of tatty places in Torquay these days, but this is not one of them, and is definitely well worth a visit if you are in town.

Lovely welcome, especially for our Labrador who was given a rug to lie on, water and fresh chicken! Food delicious- the biggest milkshakes I’ve ever seen!! Fab way to spend an hour or so.

On a cold and windy April mornimg we were welcomed by both the warmth of the surroundings and the friendliness of the hosts. The storm overnight had left us with a healthy hunger and we relaxed with hot toasted crumpets with butter, accompanied by the continental meats selection. A couple of hot drinks make the perfect repast. Many thanks to the Lighthouse's accomodating and very friendly owners. Oh. And not forfegging the loving attention for our fluffy pooch who was given a comfy basket, a bowl of fresh water and a bit of chicken breast to boot. Many thanks!

Visited here today with my partner as we both fancied some lunch. Very laid back atmosphere inside, dogs welcome and mats, bowls and treats provided. Good choice of food on the menu from a breakfast selection served until 12 which included stacked pancakes to an after 12 menu which had plenty of choice. I had the salmon salad with sweet chilli and the other half had the BLT with fries. The salad was £14.95 but it was well worth that price because everything looked and tasted fresh. We both had a pint of cider too and the thing for me was that the glasses were fresh out of the freezer. On a hot summers day this would be amazing, not that it wasn’t today but you know what I mean. Decor is great and the staff are friendly and very welcoming. All in all a lovely experience and I would definitely return just to try out the seafood platter off the specials board. You will not be disappointed visiting here as all food is made to order and fresh.

Great find in the harbour, very welcoming, we sat in the comfy high back chairs, easy listening background music, good choice of cakes (the carrot cake was yummy) and drinks, would definitely recommend.

Stopped here for lunch. We just wanted old-school sandwiches on ordinary bread. Not panini/ciabatta/wrap. Delicious cheese & onion chutney between 2 large chunks of sliced bread.Salad & nachos.Delicious Earl Grey Tea too. This all sounds incredibly gushing as a review for a simple sarnie & cuppa,but boy it's worth it I think !! About half the customers are returners from up country visiting again.Lovely. A lovely clean cafe with WiFi. Thank you !!

The lighthouse was very accommodating and we were made to feel so welcome. It’s also dog friendly so you can bring them along too.

On arriving Torquay we walked along the front looking for somewhere for lunch. We glad we went walked all the way to the end and found here…… one of the most dog friendly cafes we’ve been too! The dog got his own little rug and water bowl while we had the soup of the day and a lovely cup of tea 😋. We are here for the week and if we find ourselves that way again we will definitely stop off again for lunch or a drink and some cake 😊

Having just spent a lovely Mothers Day lunch with my two daughters I can say the food, service and drinks were excellent. The decor and ambiance just added to the experience. Will definitely be retuning and hopefully use the outside seating are in the warmer weather taking in the views of Torquay Harbour.

Situated in a wonderful location on the harbourside, the Lighthouse is a fabulous place to have breakfast, brunch, lunch or just a coffee. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly and Ceri and Lizzie and of course Gary greet us with a warm welcome and always serve us with a smile. The food is presented beautifully and is delicious. We leave feeling satisfied and looking forward to our next visit. See you soon.

I love this cafe/bistro amazing views, great atmosphere, value for money, very dog friendly, they have a new team and considering it's early season everything was as good as last year. IV tried lunch, breakfast and afternoon tea all amazing.

Just fabulous . The food is absolutely gorgeous, staff are brilliant and the atmosphere is warm and friendly. Particularly great if you have a dog, they love dogs to visit, treats, water and beds are at the ready along with attention from all staff. Just the perfect place for drinks or food

Great cafe with views over the harbour. Very dog friendly, ours loved his chicken! Staff extremely friendly and attentive. The cafe has a good ambience, with a mixture of traditional tables and lounge style seating. Have not tried the food but what we saw looked very good. Would definitely recommend and look forward to visiting again next time we are in the area.

Beautiful renovated cafe with a relaxed maritime atmosphere in a beautifully renovated building on the promenade with a great view over the harbor. Café good, seating good, service good and quick, food and drink good. What more do you want ?

Insect in salad. Showed server was told the salad had been washed. No offer of compensation. Had to wait to be acknowledged initially and no offer to accommodate a disabled persons walker.

Well ,where do I start! Just couldn't fault this place. Staff were amazing and so accommodating. Food was delish , coffee was lovely and hot . Iced coffee with vanilla shot tasted like a baileys, wow! Milkshake was to die for . Looking forward to returning 😀

After a two hour drive from Camborne myself and my husband were ready for something to eat. After a quick look on trip advisor we picked out the lighthouse which came highly recommended. It was easy to find, and as we were in time for the brunch menu my husband had eggs Benedict and I had scrambled eggs on toast with beans. Both were cooked to perfection. With coffee and orange juice the bill came to a little over £20 which we thought was worth every Penny. A lovely place, immaculately clean and excellent service.

I had Mushrooms on Ciabatta with Garlic & Pepper sauce with added Bacon. Friends had a Plough mans & Ham & Cheese Panini with fries. We were all very happy, but I must say the mushroom dish was great.

The food and service is consistently excellent. The staff and owner work hard to make you relax and enjoy the moment. We eat a wide range on the menu and the quality of the food is exceptional, it is by far the best cafe in Torquay. Give this place a visit you will be impressed. The cafe is also dog friendly, this is a pic of Angus our black russian terrier, he sleeps while we eat.

Lovely beach cafe which definitely makes you feel like you are on holiday. You can sit inside or outside and the views of the harbour were lovely. Food was delicious - recommend the soup and paninis. Fast, friendly service - worth a visit.

Found this lovely little café on the harbour on our first morning of our weekend away. We came back every morning of our holiday because we were made to feel like friends and the food was beautiful.

Love this place so much and it is my go to cafe whenever I am in town with the family and four legged fur baby. Great food, hospitality and atmosphere. Highly recommend their pancakes for breakfast.

This place could not have been better. The staff were so unobtrusively attentive and friendly. They brought a towel, water and chicken for our dog (all unprompted and very welcome). Delicious cream teas, and lovely drinks too.

From the outside, this looks like just another cafe, but the friendliness of the staff, excellent food, relatively vast menu & fun drinks from on tap cocktails to steins of beer, can’t recommend enough for one of the best cafes in Torquay

We couldn't have had a better experience. The staff were amazing...really friendly and dog loving (Finlay was thoroughly spoilt with biscuits and chicken!!!!). We were too...enormous sandwiches filled with prawns (lots) and avocado and coronation chicken both came with salad and coleslaw. The BLT with extras on ciabetta was a feast. It's spotlessly clean inside and out and we will definitely be back.

My husband and I stopped here with our two Rough Collie dogs today. We had a fabulous lunch and our dogs were made to very welcome. The place itself was clean, warm and comfortable with a lovely atmosphere. The food was delicious! I had a Coronation chicken jacket potato and my husband had a Chiclen, bacon and lettuce and tomato open sandwich. We shared some sweet potato fries. We both had coffee. The coffee was gorgeous and a decent size. I would 100% recommend this place.
