Food was of a high quality. Thoroughly delicious. Mindy was such a good hostess and very attentive with a lovely smiley face 😊 The young Polish man (sorry we did not get your name) was very pleasant and helped look after us. We’ll be back again soon!

A lovely authentic restaurant to celebrate my husband’s 40th. So inviting and the food was spot on. They catered so well to young children too.

We found this little gem whilst we were having a stop over at the premier inn. We decided to give it a go as it was raining and we didn't want to walk far! We are so glad that we did! My husband has traveled to Thailand and is usually quite fussy with where we go to eat for Thai food, but gosh this did not disappoint, the service was outstanding, as was the food and the wine, we shall be back when we are next in the area!

Food fantastic. Mindy was a great host. Would recommend 100%. The pad Thai was lovely and they put the spice on the side for my Mrs because she has a milder palette.

This was our first visit to Jan Jaow and wont be our last. Extensive menu offering many choices of Thai food. The portions where generous and freshly cooked. Great atmosphere & great service from all the staff, a shout out to Malida. We will be back when we are next in Torquay

In summary a great restaurant. Went for dinner as a family group of four. Very attentive and friendly serving staff. Food was lovely. Had three courses and coffee to finish and everything served was very tasty. Was busy towards the end but service was still fine and restaurant was not too noisy.

We ordered a large takeaway order just before 10pm on a Saturday night, normally I would expect to be met with some form of annoyance or frustration ordering so close to closing time, but we were instead met with a friendly, helpful lady full of laughter and joy - we could pick up our order in 20 minutes. Upon collecting the team came over to say hello, I was even offered some Thai beers to try by the manager and it was a delight to meet the lovely lady on the phone. The food was 11/10, absolutely delicious. We had all sorts of curries, noodle dishes, starters and there was not a single negative comment, in fact we were sat in silence for the majority of the meal as were so happy! I could not recommend this restaurant more if I tried - thank you

We were greeted by very friendly staff who have been helpful throughout the whole time that we stayed. The food was outstanding, it is nice to have a choice of meats for the currys and noodle dishes, as well as the choice of level of spice. Amazing variety of spirits and wines. A good choice for something a little different in the land of fish, chips and ice cream. Good choice of decent Thai cuisine, including the usual curries. An unusually long dessert menu caught the eye too! Lilly's service was spot-on, but all staff were great, including the cheery wave from staff in the open-plan kitchen on arrival and leaving.

The restaurant has a true family feel. The menus offers lots of choice, everyone’s food was excellent and the service good and attentive. The owners are really friendly and we had a lovely evening.

We had an excellent meal in this restaurant and can highly recommend it. Fresh, authentic cuisine with wonderful ingredients. Live cooking in the restaurant where you can convince yourself of the good quality. The waitresses, especially Malida, are super friendly and competent and also cater to food requests. Wrong order received twice. Food was tepid. Service wasn't great, got the order wrong, it wasn't even busy, and when mentioned to the waitress she said it was only her 2nd shift and she really didn't know what she was doing! Staff need better training before interacting with customers as you have now lost customers because we won't be back. Visited In September 2023 and it was lovely, certainly gone down hill since then.

This is one of the best restaurants in Torquay - if you enjoy Thai food there is simply nowhere better! We have visited Jun Jaow over ten times since they moved into their new premises, just up the road from where they used to be. We have never been disappointed with the food, service or ambiance. Everyone who works there have smiles on their faces and nothing is ever too much to ask for. Seeing (and smelling!) the food as its prepared in the integral kitchen in the middle of the restaurant somehow adds to the vibrant atmosphere too! None of the chefs or waiting staff ever look stressed yet the food comes out beautifully cooked and presented time after time. The restaurant is always full, so they clearly have found a way to achieve 'poetry in motion'! The restaurant itself is really well decorated and dressed, its absolutely lovely. You don't feel like they've tried to squeeze extra tables in either, so it feels special. Well done Jun Jaow - we'll be back again very soon!

I would not ordinarily describe myself as a lover of Thai food but, having succumbed to my Thai food-loving husband’s persuasion, I was bowled over by my introduction to Jun Jaow and I have enjoyed several meals since. This family run restaurant has a buzzing ambience with views into the kitchen where the flaming woks provide a great sense of ‘theatre’. Chef/co-Owner Fon’s busy team deliver an extensive Thai menu using fresh, authentic ingredients and the experience is complimented by Servers dressed in beautiful Thai clothing. The drinks selection includes beers and wines from the region - as well as Jun Jaow’s own ‘Full Moon Gin’ infused with mango and coconut. The menu includes no less than 18 starters (!) as well as a wide variety of traditional stir fry and noodle dishes. Their Pad Thai is one of the best we’ve eaten (including in Thailand according to my well-travelled husband). His seafood was cooked to perfection. Various curries can all be cooked to your preference of mild, medium or hot and 4 of these curries can be vegan on request. If, like me, you’re not a lover of the widely used peppers in Thai cuisine, go for the Vegetable (or Tofu) Massaman Curry both of which were superior to any Massaman I’ve eaten elsewhere. Coconut Rice was the perfect accompaniment although there were half a dozen other rice or noodle side options from which to choose. Jun Jaow’s Special Dishes include a Sea Bass, flour-dusted and deep fried, topped with their own creamy curry sauce. It is exceptional.

Went here for a business evening with another collegue. Had a pork ball starter that was overcooked, but ate it anyway, was just ordinary. Then the main meal was served, I had only just started mine when I found a long hair in it, I immediately stopped eating ANY food and eventually managed to get someones attention, and told them and showed then the hair in my food, he then went away, leaving the food there on the table for about another 15 minutes, he eventually came and took it away, no other food was offered, no dessert menu was offered either, nor coffee. Someone then came and said they had the bill and they had taken 10% of for the hair in my food, I informed them that that was not acceptable, and I certainly was not going to pay for something I had not eaten. After a lengthy wait they eventually came back with a revised bill where they had taken of the hairy food. Miserable staff, shocking food, bad service, would I go back... NEVER!
