Their chips are amazing and everything is cooked to order and fresh fantastic quality, great chippy.

Just like chippy of old. Great service, chips were lovely, battered, not bright yellow like the black country ones, (but I like those as well). Overall, 5 well deserved stars.

Just perfect! Supernice staff, ready on-time and sooo delicious! Highly recommended!

Probably the best cod in Torquay. The batter is very thin not too oily like all the other shops. We had fish from a few shops while we were there. But this chip shop was by far the best quality. All made to order. G Gill

Ordered a delivery through just eat to the well known site in Torquay I work at which is easy to find and it never turned up even though it said delivered. Contacted Torquay Fryer and he was not remotely interested and washed his hands of it and basically tough it's just eats problem. 😡😡

The best fish and chips my whole family and I have ever had. We had it on the first night of our holiday and we all agreed it would be an absolute travesty if we never got to eat it again. So we had it on the last night as well. If I’m ever back in the area this will be the first place I go.

Daughter just got me Haddock and chips and never tasted a haddock like this one???? dont think it was haddock and it was dry like it had been left in the warmer too long, batter was flat and greasy very disappointed. Had fish and chips a couple of years ago and it was really nice.

Very friendly service. The food is freshly cooked to order, and very clean take away.

Sublime. Easily the best fish and chips I’ve had in 20 years or more. The batter is exquisite: I only wish I could make one like it for my Japanese tempura dishes. Everything was perfect tasting and really fresh. There is a little park just outside with benches, which is a nice place to eat. £9 for medium cod and chips.

Just had cod, chips and curry sauce. Torquay fryer has just become my all time favourite chippy. Enough said.

Wow. Personally speaking this is the best cod and chips I’ve had for a very long time. Visiting from Penzance I’m no stranger to good fish and chips but, if you like chips that are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside and a good amount of crispy batter on a very decent sized piece of fish, all at a very reasonable price then this is the place for you. No grease, no measly portions, fair prices. I have to rate this place as my favourite fish and chip take away. Such a shame it’s so far away from where I live.

The best cod roe and chips I've ever eaten. The chips were done in a light tempura style batter and were dry and crispy. The cod roe was very smooth and creamy with a very crispy batter. Will be back whenever I come to Torquay.

One of the best fish and chips I’ve eaten for long long time and really good excellent customer service. Buttered chips and cod are amazing. I would recommend to everyone who loves fish and chips.

Food is best I’ve ever ordered from a local chippy. And I’m not easily pleased. We don’t make a habit of it but treating ourselves and going back tonight for second time in a weekend; says a lot.

Chips did not arrive. Several phone calls, no answer: very poor cu service. Will be making a charge back. 😞

Everything about this place is perfect, food is amazing, customer service is great.

So good to see thus little Gem open again and what a difference. Clean and welcoming. Fish lightly battered, nice and crisp not saturated in grease. Best chip I’ve ever had. This is definitely my local again now even though I live in Paignton, we’ll worth the drive. Well done guys.

The best fish and chips I've tried in torquay and believe me i'm fussy. Cod cooked perfectly coated in a light crispy batter, battered chip very nice not overly loaded, and curry sauce tasty, will definitely be my goto in the future 😋.

As I am disabled, they collect my order at the door and I can return and they bring my order to me. I could order online but I appreciate the interaction. The fish and chips are always delicious and never vary in quality.

Visited for the first time a couple of nights ago,food was nice,fresh and hot,fairly priced too.The battered chips are lovely but a rarity down this end of the country,I'm from the west Midlands,home of the battered chip and it was nice to have them again,I'll be returning.

Very disappointing! If you're from out of town and never ordered from here before, be sure to check what you're getting when you ask for a portion of chips. What I actually got was a portion of battered chips (disgusting!). Waste of money, it all had to go in the bin. You'll need to ask specifically for traditional chips if you want them without batter.
