Peaky's Turkish Grill in Torbay

We went here for our wedding anniversary because I just love Turkish food. The starter was amazing so good. My husband’s main course was fantastic but my main wasn’t to my taste, but when the waitress approached me she couldn’t have been more helpful she offered to bring me another dish but when I said that would be too filling I was offered another dish to takeaway. I really rate this restaurant the food is amazing and the service is above and beyond. The only reason I gave one star less for atmosphere was it was a very quiet night.

Istanbul is a lovely restaurant and the food is really good, but unfortunately my partner and I couldn't relax fully as there were people in there drinking and being quite distracting. I think if it focuses purely on being a restaurant and not allowing people/friends/family to drink at the bar, it'd be a wonderful relaxing place to eat.

Love coming to this traditional family run restaurant. Atmosphere is always on point. The service is the best in town. Food good enough for royalty. If you come to torbay and don't vist here for a meal. Your a fool. Don't be foolish and do your self the biggest favour all year 💯💯💪🏾💪🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾

Fantastic. Deleted my last post as the food has certainly gotten better. I'm only interested in the Kebabs. Would feel a bit disheartened paying full price for pizza and burgers when they are half price if you walk-in, but glad I don't have that problem.

Really disappointed with the food, I used to love this place, have been loads of times and never used to ever have a bad meal. I think it's recently changed hands and the last couple of times we've had food the standards seem to have slipped. Still good service. Pic was a mixed kebab and chips, felt hard done by in terms of quality and portion size

2nd time ordering from here. delicious tasty food. only one moan... a shame the onion rings aren't homemade. otherwise no complaints.

What a great find! We had a delicious meal here last night to celebrate our 45th wedding anniversary. The food was great with very generous potions, and the staff could not do enough to ensure you had all you needed. We will certainly highly recommend and return to try other dishes on the wonderful menu.

One of the best Turkish food ive had, a real hidden gem. We came here on a stay from London and stumbled across this place by accident but glad we did, service was so friendly and helpful, building had an old cozy charm to it and the food was to die for. Will definitely come back next time we are in the area.

Went here for the first time for a Valentine’s Day meal and I was so glad we picked here! I had the lamb ribs, it was so succulent and juicy. My partner had the mixed grill and all the different meats were cooked to perfection. Will definitely be returning here!

🤩 Supporting local is what I am all about and found this absolute hidden gem this evening 🤩 I only popped in for a kebab and got chatting. He buys all of his meat from gages farm in ashburton, goes to the cheese shop for his cheeses, goes to the green grocery to buy his veg and makes all of his own sauces! Always incredible food. Was 10 mins late but i ordered late in the evening and they're usually very punctual. You wont find better quality delivery food in Paignton

We've ordered from peakeys maybe 8 times and every single time the food has been delicious and piping hot. It's probably the only place I've ever ordered chips and they've arrived still crispy! The meat is deliciously seasoned and good quality. They know what they're doing and I think it's impossible to make a bad order. 10/10

Unfortunately been overcharged twice :( The food is quite expensive anyhow and I don't feel you get what you pay for. The staff don't check what food you ordered and guess what you had hence overcharged etc....!

Another amazingly delicious meal at this stellar restaurant tonight! The menu is authentic with an array of very tasty and freshly cooked starters. Their lamb is absolutely the best we have had anywhere! Soft, succulent and so tasty - the flavour of the flame cooked meat is unsurpassed! Deliciously fresh salads and cous cous, served by the beautiful, efficient Beren who goes out of her way to make a meal out an evening of sheer delight. Her quiet attention ensures everything is 'up to standard' and absolutely nothing is too much trouble! She managed to whip up a mini celebration for my daughters birthday as I had not given prior notice. The seating is very comfortable, and the atmosphere relaxing. We always find the value of the meals to be particularly excellent. The combination of great vibes, good quality food at truly fair prices, along with the outstanding service and generous portions to be a winner in our eyes, and, it never fails to impress any guest we take along. So pleased this restaurant is in our town!

Had the Turkish kebab and it was huge! So tasty and definitely enough for two people. We accidentally collected 40 mins late (I thought we clicked delivery..) and it was still hot, staff were lovely & honestly the best kebab I’ve ever had!! Definitely recommend!

We rang after it was 30 mins late and they said it was just leaving, another 30mins past and it still hadn't arrived. When it did finally arrive a item was missing. Very disappointed the meal was extremely dry

Really bad food salad was rubbish. No free wine with food over 50 pounds like offered. Bread was dry and uneatable and couldn't open them to put chicken in. Really disappointing 😞 Falafel was dry and burnt.

We have travelled from Birmingham and was looking for a different type of meal during our stay in Torquay. We found this restaurant highly recommended. We are so glad we made the decision to visit. We called in advance and found the lady on the phone really polite and welcoming. Once we arrived, Bern greeted us with a warm welcome and spoke to us all. She made effort with my Wife and Son. She explained the menu and items we had a questions about. The food arrived fresh and well presented. More importantly, it tasted incredible. Beren was a credit to her family. We highly recommend visiting. Thank you for welcoming us.

Arrived late and food was awful… Cold, dry and not able to eat it. Tried calling them numerous times to complain but no reply.

As always nice food well cooked ive never tried the doner meat so i cant comment on that but the mix grill is really nice clean not swimming in grease the salad served seperate drizzled with balsamic vinegar highly recommend oh yeh and delivered earl

Really decent food, large portions and healthy Turkish food with loads of flavour. We had the houmous and a chicken shish, plus the house special. They come with plenty of meat, rice, bread, salad and dips. Would 100% recommend. The interior is quirky peaky blinders themed old school pub vibes but really good. Staff are friendly and kind.

i ordered online, for delivery that was supposed to be within 45 minutes. as it was not delivered, i called the restaurant to cancel the order. the restaurant wanted to delivered within other 20 minutes but i could not wait any more and asked the restaurant to cancel the online order. the restaurant told me they were busy to cancel the order and asked me to cancel it on their website. i told them i could not see any such way on their website and asked them to navigate me, they told me they did not have time and that they would call me later on, at unspecified time. so i dont recommend their delivery, its unreliable.

Amazing food. We went for Falafel, Lahmacun, Shepherd's Salad, House Special Kebab and baklava. All was delicious and very reasonably priced. The pub / restaurant has a great vibe. Young man who served us was very friendly. We'll definitely come back for more

My fiancé and I ordered a takeaway delivery. The gentleman who answered the phone was helpful and friendly as was the delivery driver. The menu is fantastic with such variety, so tempting to order the lot to try! We settled on the Turkish Borek, Adana Kebab and the House Special Kebab (includes Adana, lamb chops and chicken shish kebab meat) both come with homemade Turkish bread, salad, rice or cous cous and choice of sauces, The portions were plentiful and all of the food is absolutely delicious! The bread is beautifully made, as is the homemade chilli sauce. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal, and will definitely be ordering again! Finally found our perfect local takeaway! Thank you!

Ordered a meal for 2 which turned up and wasn’t even enough for one person let alone 2 you have 3 chicken wings to split between 2 people absolutely shocking service and the bloke on the phone was realy rude and laughed at me

Ordered from peakys for the first time tonight and it’s safe to say it will be the last . We ordered the meal for 2 which was £24 and the portion couldn’t be divided between 2 . The chicken was pink and cold .the lambe tasted awful and so did all the other meat so I ended up only eating the rice . I rang the restaurant and was laughed at by the bloke on the phone . Who then said what do I want him to do about it . Contacted just eat and sent over all pictures and they were happy to help . I’m so sad as I went into the shop a few months ago and the owner was lovely so I’m very upset with the service I received tonight . I will never order from them again .
