Burr's Restaurant

Newport Central, Isle of Wight, <20£
12/06/2019: Came on our annual cycling weekend visit to the Isle of Wight and had a lovely meal. Food is fresh and tasty, the staff are great and the set menu at £55 including a bottle of wine for three courses is fantastic value.
05/06/2019: As before we both had absolutely delicious meals! I had a smoked haddock starter, followed by steak (done exactly how I like it) and creme brulee. My husband had a pate starter, duck, and salted caramel chocolate cheesecake. The evening was relaxed and comfortable, service was friendly and efficient, couldn't ask for anything better.

Newport North, Isle of Wight
16/06/2019: We had another fantastic meal at Thom psons. Perfect hosting and food. Everyone is always so friendly and professional. Thankbyou
15/06/2019: we had dinner here with friends the staff were very good and the food is very good worth a visit if your on the IOW

Crave Ice Cream

Ventnor East, Isle of Wight, <20£
11/06/2019: Found this ice cream chance after parking in a local car park. Really helpful staff who let you try the different flavours before making a decision. This can make the decision quite difficult as they are all so good. Flavours change regularly.
09/06/2019: Amazing little ice cream parlour. They have some really interesting flavours (my daughter loved the magic unicorn one) and are more than happy to let you taste as much as you want before you decide.

Bellamy's Bistro

Sandown South, Isle of Wight
18/06/2019: We were in the Isle of Wight for the weekend and booked Bellamy's for the Saturday evening after reading the reviews on Tripadvisor and we were definitely not disappointed. We had a fabulous meal - we didn't have a starter, but I had the lamb chops which were locally sourced and very tasty. My husband had the moules marinières with extra cream and ordered chips and bread with the mussels as in the past his favourite dish is not always very filling. How wrong he was - the portion was huge, the mussels were big, plump and delicious and despite his best attempts he could not finish all the chips. For desert we both had the homemade crumble and custard which was yummy. The staff were very attentive but never 'in your face' and the atmosphere was very relaxing with great music (just our era!). All this led to a fabulous evening all round and we will definitely be back on our next visit to the Isle of wight. Highly Recommended!
18/06/2019: Always make a point of eating here when i am over for the music festival. Yvonne and simon or warm and welcoming and nothing too much trouble. We had the burger which my son said was tremendous and i can personally highly recommend the chicken and mushroom pie. All the food is fresh and cooked perfectly. Cant wait to see you again next year.

Off the Rails

West Wight, Isle of Wight, >100£
15/06/2019: Great location and wonderful food. Concept of sitting on the old railway is well worth a visit and one of the most dog friendly places you'll find.
07/06/2019: Being the parent of a toddler with allergies i can tell you eating out anywhere is a big challenge!! This place has become our new go to for a coffee and a cake with the little one. They have an amazing range of foods that cater for every type of diet and most importantly nothing is too much trouble.

Hillside Bistro

Ventnor East, Isle of Wight, 20-30£
01/06/2019: Excellent meal, staff very efficient and friendly a relaxed atmosphere. Would not hesitate in recommending this restaurant to others.
29/05/2019: My girlfriend and I were visiting IOW over the long weekend and visited the bistro on Saturday. In short it was a wonderful experience. The staff were SO friendly, you immediately felt welcome. We had 2 specials - Salmon on a base of squid and king prawns (cant quite remember the name sadly), but the best way to evaluate the meal is that we didnt want it to end - that says it all really. We were on a table where you could see the chef who was also ridiculously friendly and personally asked what we thought of the meal which was lovely of him! A lovely restaurant. You wont be disappointed. Anyone that moans about this place is just here to moan! Thanks guys

Propeller Inn Pub

Brading, St Helens and Bembridge, Isle of Wight, <20£
18/06/2019: Lovely atmosphere, great staff, very welcoming and friendly. The food is AMAZING!! Great size portions, well cooked and very tasty. Do not miss out on this place if you are near Bembridge. Happy to recommend and will be visiting again!
15/06/2019: A little off the track but a nice local pub. Good atmosphere and friendly staff. Decent food fairly priced.

Lockslane Contemporary Bistro

Brading, St Helens and Bembridge, Isle of Wight, 20-30£
18/06/2019: Wow! I booked this restaurant on the strength of the reviews on here. Am I glad I did! A warm welcome from Rachel led to excellent service and the food was faultless!
13/06/2019: Very welcoming and friendly as well as knowledgeable service, reassuringly short menu - there is a chef in the kitchen. Interesting menu 3 of us tried interesting dishes, my warm, softly cooked black pudding starter with freshly made tomatoey sauce was delightful. Great cheeseboard

Shanklin South, Isle of Wight
17/06/2019: Pendleton's, set on the edge of Shanklin Old Village, stands out for quality and style amidst all the restaurants we tried in Shanklin .It is smart, modern but not fussy, and the food is individual, not run of the mill, well-cooked and attractively served. Prices are reasonable though the menu is a little restricted.
14/06/2019: We attended Thursday 13 June had the duck breast it was fantastic, had great service very attentive good atmosphere highly recommended.

Syke Farm Tearoom

Lake North, Isle of Wight
18/06/2019: Very friendly, efficient staff, spotlessly clean and most of all the large variety of delicious ice creams & cakes are all made on farm, Cannot recommend highly enough and when returning to Lake District will definitely be coming back.
04/06/2019: Dropped in for an ice-cream when driving past but saw the pies and decided it must be lunchtime. Definitely a pie to reward someone who has walked or cycled to get here, we felt we cheated. We had a steak pie and it was just chock full of huge pieces of beef, just great.

The Seapot

Ventnor East, Isle of Wight
10/06/2019: lovely place to sit and spot the lizards, plenty of homemade cakes, lovely bread pudding will also let you have two forks if you want to share, lovely fresh brewed tea made to your liking
20/05/2019: This cosy bar came recommended by a local so we had to try and were not dissapointed Crab sandwiches are excellent and prosecco to help them digest what could be better. When on the IOW in the Ventnor area do not miss this superb eatery

Lady Scarletts Tea Parlour

Ventnor West, Isle of Wight
14/06/2019: Great Quirky Cafe, could well be in a Goodnight Sweetheart episode.
11/06/2019: This place is fantastic and dog friendly too. We could still be in 1940s visiting this tea parlour, very quirky, very 1940s and played lovely 1940s popular music. Lady Scarlett herself is a warm friendly lady and aims to please. We visited twice as the food was delicious. I had the best fresh crab sandwich I have ever tasted, gorgeous. My husband ad a huge homemade scone which again was delicious. All the food and cakes are homemade. All in all a first class experience and will be returning next year

Three Buoys

Ryde East, Isle of Wight
16/06/2019: Not much choice for the children on there kids menu, place is quite small with stairs to climb. But after racking my brains that’s all the negatives I can think of. Waitress and waiter were the most attentive, friendly helpful members of staff I have ever met. I had mussels to start, absolutely beautiful my wife had the halloumi which she loved, my main was the mackerel, it was a joy to eat, the flavours danced!! The flesh was delicate, perfectly cooked, 10/10. The dessert was key lime pie, which was beautiful and my wife adored her pannacotta. They even surprised us with a happy birthday message made from white chocolate, ice cream and other bits! I cannot rate this place highly enough, honestly best dining experience I’ve had in years!!!!!
16/06/2019: We stopped here for cake and a drink whilst staying in Ryde. Lovely cafe with helpful staff serving great food with some outdoor seating to enjoy the beautiful views over the water.

Pointer Inn

Arreton and Newchurch, Isle of Wight, >100£
17/06/2019: Currently sat in here, taken almost an hour for the starter to arrive. 20 minutes to get a drink, had to go to the bar though told it was table service. Been back to the bar again as service so slow. Still getting served at the bar isn't easy. 6 foot 3 bright red top and yet noticeable
16/06/2019: Had a roast dinner was little disappointed, presented well but just seemed as if the meat and vegetables were pre heated. Yorkshire pudding was fresh and really good . Service by the waitress was just excellent really attentive.

The Taverners

Godshill and Wroxall, Isle of Wight
18/06/2019: This was our second visit to The Taverners, the first being 2 years ago when we were last on the island. The service and food were exceptional. I ordered the fish and chips and the fish was firm and batter was crispy - just what you want! My partner ordered the beef suet pie and was really happy with his meal too.
16/06/2019: We recently returned to the Taverners (having heard about its new ownership), and we had fantastic food/drink as well as service. Highly recommended.
