I regularly go to the artisan and am always greeted warmly, the coffee alone is worth the visit but the food is excellent as well. It is always busy and the staff are always friendly as are the customers.

Luckily we do not live far away and have the opportunity to eat here when we feel like a treat and a treat is what this place is. The food, the flavours, the people, the decor, music, service. Everyone is welcome including the well behaved pups. A meal, drink or piece of cake you will not regret.

Chilled setting with amazing food and great service. Definitely somewhere to stop for lunch, amazing milkshakes or just a coffee.

If you are going for a traditional English breakfast then this place is probably not for you more of a London Shoreditch sort of place and just as expensive as London

Really nice coffee stop in a really chilled environment, sadly got there with minutes to go before closing so no chance for food! A good place to stop before the Red funnel Southampton ferry.

Wow what a find Needed a place for a coffee and breakfast before our ferry and this was amazing Very friendly staff Cosy interior with wooden tables and blankets Breakfast options included poached eggs on sourdough with Chorizo or homemade hummus with smoked salmon Delicious coffee There was a delicious array of cakes and pastries but too full for anything else. Could have stayed longer and watched the world go by

Wonderful food, lovely server, nice music and ambience. Baulked a bit at the prices - but was worth every penny. Utterly scrumptious.

The menu was really hard to choose from as everything looked and sounded so delicious. The food when it arrived was beautifully presented and taste was perfect. The staff were really friendly and they had an excellent range of GF options with their cakes and bread.

I have been all over the island trying to find really great coffee, I stumbled across this place by accident. It’s a lovely cafe, great staff and seriously excellent coffee, the best I have had on the Island!

Amazing artisan breakfast!! So good we came back the day after to have it again. Nice vibe, sunny spot, but if music, feels like you’re on holiday.

Very friendly and helpful staff, really nice atmosphere, it was nice to sit outside for breakfast with some chilled house music in the background, The breakfast is probably one of the best I’ve had , every element on the plate was extremely well cooked ,and the flavours of all the ingredients were amazing, compliments to the chef! Very good value for money. If you’re in east cows I would highly recommend. Thanks to all the staff.

A welcoming place with a warm and casual vibe, but the staff are nonetheless attentive. Superb selection and excellent quality food, put together with artistry and skill. Even better, on Friday the sourdough bread is avaible to buy, but be sure to arrive early for that!

We came for breakfast as a group of five. Its a relatively small cafe but we got a table inside after a short wait and they helpfully put two tables together. Food was really excellent, exceptionally presented. We had a few fussy orders, wanting to vary what was on the menu, and the waitress was patient and checked she had our order as we wanted it. Music in the cafe is dance, active and even granny seemed to enjoy it. A really nice place, very close to Osborne house , come early for breakfast if you are a larger group, but would definitely recommend

Amazing gentle place with the most exciting breakfasts in the world. Damion "cool dude" takes such great pride & passion in what he produces, obsessing with researching new flavours, herbs & the unusual. The full English breaky was outstanding, home made "smokey" beans, maple & pork sausages, with little unusual tasty xtras, like slices of pickled onion & dressings. If you want edgy flavoured food, so refreshing, from the standard dull English traditional plate of grease. Then this is the place to be- - - Fabbo. We'll done Damion. Got loads of sausages from your supplier. Yahooooo. Great grub, Paul & Andy.

My brother and I stopped here for lunch . We both ordered the omelette and fries . We were very impressed. The staff were nice and yes there is a friendly dog who follows everyone around. It is quite family orientated and it appears by the photos around they have sadly lost someone close. We ate in the garden as it was a nice day. B Overall , yes a bit hickledepicklede. But we loved it. Probably not for you if you don’t like dogs .

As Aussies we are critical of coffee as our culture is addicted to it. Here we had a coffee we were amazingly thrilled with. It was a REAL COFFEE with flavour, depth, texture and truly made with love thank you Emma for creating the best coffee we have had in the entirety of the UK xx

Being a local I did not stay at the hotel but I thought I'd try the food as eating out in Newport is limited to say the least (unless you like pizza/pasta, there are at least 4 of these). I fancied traditional pub food which today is a scarce as all the pubs seem to be in the Gordon Ramsey mode, posh food, very little of it and expensive. The Wheatsheaf’s menu included real pub classics including Steak and Ale pie, Pork Belly, Steak and Chips, Lamb Shank to name a few. For starter’s I opted for the chilli prawns, a generous portion, cooked perfect and presented shell off which saves all that peeling and messy fingers! Starters are all priced at £5.00. I followed this with a perfectly cooked 8oz sirloin steak (med-rare) with lovely crispy chips and a blue cheese sauce accompanied by a nice crisp fresh salad, (which was not just a bowl of leaves like in most places). Although the chips were frozen they were crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, perfect, I almost mistook them for the latest fad (3 times cooked chips). The chef must have a trick up his sleeve. The steak was cooked perfect. A field mushroom would have been a nice touch. Here's the good bit, all main dishes are only £10, if you fancy steak you do pay a £4.00 supplement which is fair. Even though I was stuffed I could not resist the homemade Rhubarb Crumble with cream. I managed to eat ¾ of it. Again, all the desserts were priced at £5.00. All I can say is although this pub has had a bad reputation for food in the past this is certainly not the case now, it’s really worth giving it a try.
