The best restaurants in Tarvin and Kelsall Cheshire West and Chester North West

I was driving on my way to Conwy and needed a comfort break and some lunch. What a lovely welcome I had ........ just genuine, not put on. The pub wasn't stylish (more old fashioned in a good way) but very comfortable. I had a fish finger baguette as they didn't have any sandwiches that I liked. Wow ........... !! It was so nicely presented and the side salad was all fresh and delicious. Chips too which I wasn't expecting. To be honest I couldn't manage all of it as there was such a lot. Excellent value that couldn't be beat!!

Brilliant, helpful, cleanest coffee shop we have ever been in with some of the nicest coffee a cakes. They take real pride in what they do. We travel 22 miles to visit Citrus as there is nothing in the Wirral to touch it. Dave & Sara

First time diners (family of 4) and definitely won’t be our last. The food was delicious, well presented and customer service was excellent. We all thoroughly enjoyed our food, which in itself is an achievement and we’re looking forward to our next visit. Overall a refreshingly pleasurable dining experience and although not inexpensive was very good value for the price.

Don’t often feel motivated to post reviews. However, on this occasion I felt I just had to. I met up with friends in this coffee area on a regular basis and usually choose to have a decaf Flat White. It’s normally ok, not the best, but drinkable. My son is a barista of note so I do know what a flat white should and shouldn’t be. After my first mouthful I instantly put cup down as it made me feel a little sick. As mentioned previously, this was not normal. One look at the coffee I could tell it was not a flat white. It was very very weak and insipid. Had no taste of coffee at all. When someone brought other drinks to our table, I I told the lady that I thought I must have been given the wrong drink and explained. She got me another one. It was very marginally better but I could tell it was not a true flat white and nothing like the flat white I have previously had at Okells. I could only force myself to drink about half a cup, if that. I have no idea what has changed but I shall no longer be having a flat white at this establishment.

Not the most friendly of cafes. Quite pricey for what you get served, and you only get served what they want to serve you. Recently wanting to grab a bacon butty on the go and asking if they could do it with well done bacon was too much… I was told it comes as it is cooked! Whilst taken back a little, I asked if they could serve it well trimmed instead, only to be told they don’t cut the rind off as there would be no bacon left on it !!! Wow. Maybe don’t buy such poor quality meat then or readjust your prices which are already far higher than any other cafes in the local area ! You’re a cafe, not a Michelin starred restaurant! And not a busy one at that… Your inability to serve customers is really poor… let us know when it’s under new management and I’ll come back for a visit!

I've heard so much about the lounge and kitchen I decided to try it out , so myself and a friend opted for a couple of panni's.. wow ,panni, chips and a beautiful salad... so Lisa the owner, and the two girls Nia and qoife you will be seeing us again and thank you for a superb lunch..

Food was okay but I was staggered to see that this restaurant had charged me £6 for one sausage that I ordered for my dog. Absolute disgrace and taking advantage of a regular customer I assume they put this through as a child’s meal, but £6 for a sausage is outrageous so we won’t be going back and will be leaving reviews on trip advisor to.

It's a really old style proper pub! Loads of style, good food, good beer too! Great staff, too. It felt like pubs used to feel like, a warm, friendly place to go and relax in.
