We popped in for morning coffee, good service and delicious coffee. The decor is eclectic and a little old fashioned.

A very firm favourite lovely place for my partner + I. For 4+ decades!! We live locally, so haven’t had an excuse to stay! 🥲 But only today, I enjoyed a lovely lunch with a friend, + it was gorgeous! Please may we come back soon? Thanks for such a lovely place in every way! 😊

Beautiful hotel with the warmest of welcome. The staff are wonderful. We have been coming back for 5 years and each time it was very special. Sat in the bar at willington right now soaking in the Beautiful hotel, gazing out across the Cheshire countryside, bliss.

Not sure how to start this review as a little convoluted. I only love to give good, but feel a little lost with this one. What a charming house with lots of character, but some tlc is required in areas. Such a perfectly quaint venue for a significant function. The grandure is exquisite, the grounds are lovely and such potential with foundations for a perfect audience. We felt like Lord and Lady of the Manor on entrance, such a lovely greet from the array of staff that seem to love their roles within this beautiful home of elegance. The restaurant and bar are of beauty and age gone by, classic old days familiaria. The maître d was of exceptional knowledge and we had the most interesting conversations. We had an afternoon tea, which as pretty as it was and tasty, it was incredibly disappointing in comparison to the many we have done, in fact the most basic, however it did not affect the ambience of the perfect venue. Afternoon tea rewarded us with no tea or coffee. Had to request the prosecco, but feel it was because we took a glass of wine to the table. We ate 3 courses from the same plate, 2 slices of bread each for the sandwiches and a nibble of a cake, which we felt was totally inappropriate considering the price of the tea. Only 3 tables in the restaurant after 15mins of seating and one table decided to take a sales call out very loud and very rudely talk openly very loud out to the room and then ring 2 other people taking 30 mins which completely shattered the atmosphere. It was the most rudest situation we have ever sat witnessing in a restaurant. We decided to leave sadly spoiling our special valentines lunch. The grounds are beautiful, it's winter so nearing getting ready for some garden TLC and the outbuildings and the lawns you can see the potential of this magnificent home. Dinner was quiet, the house was quiet, conversation was lovely with the hotel team. Dinner was disappointing. We had fish, chips and mushy peas. We was so upset, but could not complain, as the staff were so lovely. It was barely warm the food and chips undercooked and the haddock had a disinfectant taste to it, I left it and the peas were tinned. Disappointed we just decided to go bed. Bed by 7pm sadly the next issue hit home the mattress was so soft and springy we both sank to the floor. The bedframe screeched at every move beyond recognition, I took a video myself sat on the side moving. Ridiculous. The room was like a suite, perfect. but the mattress was horrific. We had no sleep and had to leave 6am for work. The room required attention but was large, lovely facilities, but could do with maybe more than 2 teabags and some decaf coffee. The tap doesn't run cold to drink, tepid warm, we tried relentlessly. Had to go seek batteries for the tv control . The bathroom was damp smelling, but that's the age of the house. This is such a beautiful venue, but think more a place for weddings and big functions. Day to day it was cheap and good value and that reflected in the quality of the food etc. Apologies for this review I feel it is a lovely place, staff great, but attention needed to other areas.

I paid £169 to stay here for one night and was terribly disappointed. The grounds are lovely and hotel looks nice from outside but that’s the only positives. Our room smelt damp and musky, there was also some pretty funky smells as you walked into the reception area. My wife wanted a bath before we left for a party and brown water come out and didn’t clear. The toilet seat was disgusting and clearly urine stained. There was mould all around the shower as well. We returned back around 2am only to find the hotel was completely locked up and in darkness, none of the door bells/buzzers work. We were stood outside for around 20 minutes until we finally got a call back from the receptionist who said she didn’t hear us knocking and was told if you leave the hotel you must leave your key with them, at no point did anyone explain this strange policy to us. Wouldn’t stay here again especially for the high price tag.

Beautiful venue but just such a shame I was spoken to so rudely. I was left completely speechless after being spoken to like a second class citizen by who I was told is the owner/manager, ‘Moira’. Do you speak to all guests this way or just the people you think are below you? I was left feeling very upset and now wouldn’t recommend this venue to anyone.

Wonderful country hotel and restaurant! High-quality food and excellent service. The grounds are stunning, and there's also a riding school attached. The rooms are luxurious and you feel pampered staying here. I have been to weddings and birthdays here, it's an excellent place for family get togethers.

We went to their teepee for some food and a drink today. Our first impressions what that it was a really cool spot, especially on our doorstep. Then the food arrived. We ordered 3 small pizzas and a side of triple-cooked chips. There is no word other than terrible to describe the quality of the food - chips were raw (never mind triple cooked), and the pizza bases tasted like half cooked cardboard. A coke and a beer cost me the best part of a tenner too - so for a £50, I feel well and truly ripped off. They’ve got the opportunity to do something mega here, it feels like such a waste. Next time I’ll go to the Hollie’s.

I don't write many reviews, but I had to write this one. I have eaten pizza in many places, including the chains and in Italy, yet nowhere have they been created with the imagination of the chef at the Faulkner. I'm specially talking about the toppings which, for me, are the area where one can be creative using ingredients of excellent quality. Enjoy!
