Beautiful place service is amazing and the Sunday roast is fantastic.

We had a fantastic afternoon was greeted with friendly staff Kirsty who was our waitress she remembered us from last time which was last year we had starter main and sweet everything was amazing

One of the best pubs I’ve ever been to, atmosphere is amazing, and service is great!

We had a great dinner here and so I highly recommend the sea bas dish, absolutely delightful. We also had the garlic bread on the side which was very tasty and not too oily! Atmosphere is warm and cozy and we were sat next to a huge bookshelf which made for great entertainment while waiting for the food. Quick service which meant we got our food quickly and nice and hot.

Fabulous service and a lovely building with beautiful period features. Their private function room was perfect for a birthday meal and the food was delicious. We'll definitely be back for more.

Had a wonderful family Sunday dinner yesterday. Five of us enjoyed everything about The Morris Dancer. The food was wonderful, roast beef, roast chicken, two roast porks and a massive cheese and onion pie! The deserts were excellent. The service was a wee bit slow at first but it was very busy with several large tables. I'd recommend everything about this venue.

Unbelievable night at the Morris Dancer for Octoberfest! HELMUT IS MY NEW FAVOURITE HUMAN BEING AND I WOULD HAPPILY SACK OFF MY ENTIRE FAMILY FOR HIM! His bald had glistened in the glistened in the lighting and made me feel better about myself! Again I love him and want him to have my babies. The staff at the Dancer were also brilliant and I want to thank them for a brilliant evening! 10/10 would absolutely recommend

We often frequent the Morris Dancer for drinks and we are always given a warm welcome from all the Staff. We booked a table for my birthday and the service was excellent, from being seated to drinks being ordered and meals presented. Even though the pub was busy the food arrived in excellent time and was delicious. The pub and team are a credit to Steph. We're very lucky to have it on our doorstep and ideal for dogs too!

Slightly disappointed , was ok but not memorable. Booked table for 3 and was seated at a large table for 6 near to a rear door . Had booked but table wasn’t set . Place lacked atmosphere and we felt rushed through each course . Food was nice as was the service but nothing special , felt a bit disappointed when we left, not as memorable as the Pen-y-Bryn for service , atmosphere and food .

Steph and the team gave everyone such a fabulous welcome last night as we celebrated a very good friends 40th birthday, we left the village over 3 years ago and have not really been in , but it reminded us last night what a lovely welcoming place the Morris Dancer is , we will definitely be back

Gorgeous pub with spacious dining areas. Brunning and Price really know how to do pubs and we love em!. Went with friends for a long overdue catch up. We didn't skimp on anything starters, mains (sides) puddings, coffee and drinks. The bill was the most we have ever spent on one of our night outs at £50 per head so it isn't the cheapest. I can however tell you that the food was amazing - always perfectly cooked, tasty beyond words, service was pleasant and swift, attention to detail is superb. Highly recommend but be prepared for a hefty payout at the end of what was a perfect night!

Our family had the Sunday lunch, Beef, lamb and pork. It exceeded all our expectations, the meat was top grade, the veg was cooked perfectly and well seasoned. The price was reasonable for the quality of food. We will certainly be returning in the future.

Excellent food at a fair price and superb service. As a lone diner I was offered a well positioned table. Food and drinks were efficiently served by very friendly but professional staff and cleared promptly. The food was a much better standard than I expected, well above 'pub fare' and at a very reasonable price. Exceptional creme brulé!

Cheese and onion pie delicious as always. Generous portions of green vegetables cooked to perfection. Prompt and polite service. Pleasant environment.

Food was ok, although got our order wrong but quickly rectified. Quite a noisy place not somewhere to go for a quiet meal out. But overall very good.

We have gone to this pub many times over the last 9 years, it’s gone through some ownership changes in that time. It’s a great venue for a family meal out, on a sunny day the outside area is great with a kids play area too. Food is quite good too. A very sociable pub to visit

If you go to the Morris Dancer make sure you have the crispy beef salad , it’s out of this world amazing, full of flavour and great value

Most main meals were fine , but the very welcome mixture of green veg was so hard it was impossible to cut or chew. It's not even fashionable to do this now. What a waste. Staff and service lovely

Really impressed by the staff but we must have been dining during a shift change because our desserts were cold when expected to be hot. Unfortunately it was too late to amend once we realised. We did pass on our thoughts but felt underwhelmed by the response. The main course however was outstanding and ironically piping hot. Would definitely overall recommend this establishment.

Usual great quality food, efficient and friendly service and great real ales. Recommend steak burger, morrocan lamb burger and crispy beef salad.

You need to keep in mind this IS NOT A PUB, it is a restaurant dressed up as pub. You MUST BOOK A TABLE. This is a local for me and on the past two occasions I have gone in for a drink, thinking it is a pub. On both occasions I picked an empty table, the card saying that is was reserved but the time being long passed. e.g 1245hrs and it was now 1400hrs. You would think you were safe to use this table but this is not so. At any point a booking can be taken and you will be given notice that you will need to vacate the table. The first time I had 30mins notice, this time 60 mins. So if you just want to drink then you can hang at the limited bar, the 4-5 table near the bar or go outside. The focus is on customers who are buying food. So this is a restaurant with a small bar NOT a pub which does food. So if you want to have a quiet drink unmolested you will need to book a table. If you opt for food be very clear that you have paid your bill and get a receipt. On a previous visit I was a chased across the car park by a staff member and had to prove I had paid. To which I got a very curt apology. This is not a customer centric business. The food is good if on the more pricey side. Service is efficient and the staff are friendly. So as a restaurant it is spot on. This is a place you go to eat not to drink.

Lovely pub with a great menu. This was my second visit and the food was gorgeous again. I will be back next time I’m in the area!

I recently dined here and had a disappointing experience due to an unfortunate incident. During our meal, someone was sick very close to our table. While I understand that such things can happen unexpectedly, the lack of response from the restaurant staff was concerning. We had to move ourselves to a table further away from the incident, as the waiter did not offer any assistance or show any concern for the disruption it caused us. This significantly impacted our dining experience. When we received the bill, I politely requested a discount due to the inconvenience. The waiter refused, stating that it wasn’t their fault and then got the manager. Unfortunately, even the manager was not understanding or accommodating. Instead of showing empathy or trying to resolve the situation, the manager was dismissive and spent more time debating with me about him being right rather than trying to resolve the situation. While I understand that the situation was beyond their control, it happened within the restaurant and during their service. A small gesture of goodwill, such as a discount or a complimentary item, would have shown that they value their customers and acknowledge the disturbance. Good customer service involves making efforts to ensure a positive experience even when things go wrong. Unfortunately, The Morris Dancer missed an opportunity to demonstrate this. Due to their poor handling of the situation and lack of customer care, I will not be dining here again. I hope they take this feedback seriously and improve their customer service in the future.

After paying over £16 for a main course, I decided to take half the meal home to eat later. The waitress obliged although only put a part of the meal I'd asked for in to a food container binning the rest. It was explained that "it was a mistake ". I complained to her superior who showed no sympathy whatsoever. I received no remuneration and am left feeling very angry as I paid full price for a meal half of which I was denied simply because the waitress failed to clarify with me the nature of my request. I now need to contact B & P customer service.

A lovely little place for a sunny day, everything was perfect... Was out for a meal with family, and I paid full bill, food and drinks. When leaving, a member of staff I think manager (chap in shorts and shirt) approached dtr in law and asked aggressively Have you paid... This really upset her, and no apology. Manners costs nothing, as a result we won't be back. Shame lovely place.

Went on May 10th for my birthday. It was fantastic.

Wow, what a great pub.....they go the extra mile, food fantastic, even the dog was fed..........Will definitely go back, and highly recommend.......so go on treat yourself you will not be disappointed

We were looking for a pub that was dog friendly to have lunch and The Morris Dancer fitted the bill. Friendly helpful staff greeted us and took us to our table. The interior is well furnished and the pub has a good atmosphere. There was a very good range of food on offer. My wife chose the beef braised in beer and I had the crispy beef salad both were well prepared, presented and delicious. The staff were attentive without being over the top. We will definitely be going back

I went with 3 friends, all our meals were superb and thoroughly enjoyed. I haven't ever had a meal that's disappointed and the service is spot on. We didn't feel rushed at all despite arriving early and them finding us a table.

I was with a group of friends who rented a cottage nearby to celebrate a "big birthday". We use other pubs in the same chain on a regular basis and it was fortunate that The Morris Dancer was close to our accommodation. There were seven of us in the group and we booked a table on a Saturday evening in February. The pub was packed but the service was fine given the challenges of a very full noisy establishment. The food was good especially as there were four vegetarians in the group of seven. There were no complaints. There was ample parking and the whole experience was satisfactory. I have never had a bad experience in a pub run by this chain. All good.

Went to The Morris dancer tonight! ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! The food was brilliant from the halloumi starter to the hot waffle dessert!😀 and don’t forget the size of the onion rings!! Staff were incredibly friendly and the landlady Steph was brilliant and incredible helpful! Overall amazing trip and will 100% be returning!! 😀😀

I regularly use Brunning &Price pubs….the quality of the food and ales is always good and it is reassuring to know this especially when you invite guests The Morris Dancer is a busy local as well as a gastro type eatery. It is a large building with many different areas offering different environments. Service is usually provided by youngsters who always seem to be well trained and supervised. Lots of smiles and patience. The food itself is excellent and I can recommend the lamb shank for mains. Also if you have a pudding draw (!!) then go for the Bread and Butter Pudding with apricot - to die for!!

We were welcomed and shown to our table whilst waiting for other family to arrive. We ordered a few starters to share amongst us but upon arrival we had to ask twice for some small plates and were left for quite a while before they arrived. Upon our mains arriving we had to ask for more cutlery, we had used ours during the starters, again having to wait and food going cold yet again. Had to ask for vinegar for our chips. One member of our party didn’t receive their main when all ours arrived meaning we had all finished before they had barely started. Pudding & coffee option great however my cup was barely full and had literally 2 cm deep of coffee and the rest was froth. Whilst I don’t mind dogs (we are a dog owning family) I do mind dogs that are acting unruly especially in an enclosed environment. A table had two labs which were completely chilled out but then a couple came in with a Rottweiler that was very vocal upon seeing the labs, which then made a child scream as it was scared. This went on for 10 minutes. I was glad to be finished and getting ready to exit at this point, however, the dog owner was more bothered about carrying her two pints of lager and trying to hold a boisterous, barking Rottweiler than the other people around her ie elderly person with poor mobility using a walking stick who is terrified of being knocked over. The food was OK, the pub is lovely and tables spread out but for the amount of staff, service was poor, very poor. Would think twice about returning which is a shame as other family member recommend it for my birthday meal. Upon exiting we were met by a large dog 💩 by the front door on the grass. Whilst it’s disgraceful of dog owners not to clean up, management should notice this and act accordingly, especially by the main entrance/exit to the establishment

After 2 excellent meals at this pub recently I recommended this to my family for a birthday meal for 6 people. We had a lovely table and no pressure to leave it. Lots of staff asking if we needed drinks etc. the food was tasty. However the actual service was quite poor; we had to ask for plates for starters , cutlery , the mains weren’t served together and one of thr mains was forgotten. Disappointed this time .

We hadn't been here for a while because last time they had only 1 vegan option but we decided to come back and try it again. The food was lovely but what made our day was the waitress Kirsti. She was polite, friendly and couldn't do enough for us. A real asset to the restaurant. Thanks Kirsti.

Food was good but slightly expensive for what it was. Staff were lovely but did get forgotten about twice. Service was fast and the atmosphere was very good. Wouldn't go out my way to go back but if I was in the area I'd pop in.

A nice welcome on entering the pub with a cosy fire burning. Four of us had lunch & all ate different meals. Have to say we were impressed with the menu & quality of the food & all commented on how plentiful a tasty it was. With efficient service & excellent food it won’t be long before we return.

Lite bite menu and small pudding and coffee for both of us. Lovely tasty food, good service and a lovely pub. Waitress was very good. Will return.

This is our local. It's a beautifuly fitted out modern bar and resteraunt with a oldy worldy feel. The friendly staff are chatty and helpful. The food is also a very high standard.

If you love a raoring fire in the winter, then this is the place for you. The food is excellent, and the service comes with a smile. Can't recommend highly enough for a casual meal, coffee, or a pint!

Great place & the food was excellent.

Thoroughly enjoyed our New Year’s Eve celebrations - nothing to fault at all. Staff were amazing- despite being very busy - the service and food were both excellent. Music and band were good too. All in all a great night and we’ll be back! Thank you and Happy New Year to all the team.

As always, the amazing team at The Morris Dancer did not disappoint! Friendly, courteous, professional … nothing too much trouble. All expertly watched over and monitored by Steph, the newly appointed general manager. This place really is the ‘heart of the village’ welcoming locals and people passing by in equal measure. The food is the high Brunning and Price standard we’ve all come to expect, and yet again they did not fail. Our evening was pleasurable from start to finish, at no stage did we feel rushed or under pressure to leave our table. The early doors/drinkers crowd is incredible too, at times they were literally two and three deep at the bar, being served very promptly by the excellent team. Well worth a visit. Many thanks for a job well done!

Always buzzing here, never quiet, but never mad busy. Staff are lovely and very attentive and generally very friendly, with excellent food service, a tasty menu and lots of good whiskey choice too. Indoors and outdoors are terrific, and at any time of year, this is worth a visit.

Highly rate the B&P chain, hence booking here whilst in the area. Lovely location & tastefully decorated. Arrived for a late lunch/early dinner booking, in a practically empty side room and placed on a table for 2, when we booked as a 3, so uncomfortably had to make do. Menus given upon seating but had to request a menu for my child, who felt forgotten about. Service was quick, but food was fairly average. Not our usual B&P experience and so we won’t be coming back here anytime soon.

A lovely gastropub with great food, like most of the Brinning and Price chain. It's a characterful and cosy building and has some really good veggie and vegan options as well as the usual traditional roasts etc. Service was efficient and we left full, owing to the generous portion sizes.

Waited an hour for lunch , food poor overcooked - jackfruit curry. Their previous vegan dish butternut squash with oak Choi was always great. Perhaps the kitchen was overwhelmed ? Service friendly and did not get charged for lunch which was unexpected

We booked a table for Saturday 2nd December 2023, I had the crispy squid as a starter and followed with the beer battered cod, less than an hour after eating I was sick and had terrible stomach cramps, watery diarrhea and nausea, a clear case of food poisoning. Terrible expensive experience.
