Great coffee and beautiful views! Loved our visit to The Elephant in Parkgate. The coffee was delicious, and the views over the Dee Estuary were stunning. A perfect spot to relax and enjoy a quiet moment. Highly recommend!

We were only on the terrace, having a coffee that was very good. The terrace is very cool, with a warm and cozy atmosphere. They make their own pizzas. The place is dog-friendly and has a wall full of photos of all the "dog visitors." I liked it a lot.

A great place to go for coffee and cake during the day or pizza and beer in the evening.

We ordered a pizza and waited for an hour and a half. When the pizza was finally ready they gave our pizza to somebody else so we complained and then tried to offer us a pizza that had already been ate and never even got an apology. DONT GO AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Nice and cosy, lovely staff. A pleasure to sit for a coffee or something else on a windy morning.

Hi, we walked to Parkgate yesterday and popped in for something to eat. We had the distinct impression things weren't going well as the was a lot of disharmony between staff and plenty of crockery banging. When my wife tried to order food she wasn't dealt with in the most sympathetic understanding manner, to be quiet fair she was disappointed in how she was addressed. As a result we went somewhere else. You will notice that I very rarely leave negative reviews as we have our own business in hospitality and feel that things are difficult enough at the moment, but if the owners or managers are unaware of issues then they can't really do anything about it. We wish you well in the future and hope you resolve the issues that were quite evident at the time. We will however be back as this is something we have never witnessed before and really like Elephant.

We always stop here for a coffee and a cake on our weekly bike ride. Lovely little place, with great food/coffee and a great atmosphere.

Fabulous coffee, lovely food (I adore the bacon sandwich but sometimes I go for the pastel de nata!) along with wonderful staff. Highly recommended.

Great place to stop after a walk. The place has a great atmosphere, a lovely courtyard out back with heaters although the place accepted dogs we chose to sit outside as our dog had been puddle surfing 🤣. Well worth a visit.

First time ordering from here last night , almost £50 order, although you could taste the ingredients where fresh and delicious it was a real shame it arrived stone cold. Order was marked as out for delivery , 15mins later we had a call from driver saying he couldnt find our address, although we dont live anywhere that is hard too find , we spent 5mins on the phone giving directions, then it was another 10mins before he arrived, quiet dissapointing really as everything tasted like plastic due to being sat for so long. I may try again in the future as the flavours and freshness was there , just a real shame it arrived so cold. I would usually call the shop but with it getting quiet late , and the kids waiting too eat we just reheated it, which wasnt the best idea looking back.

One of the best cafes around. To be honest it’s more than a cafe- it’s licensed and opens up for functions at night too. Cycle here regular…..tried quite a bit of the menu but the bacon and sausage sour dough is exceptional….always hot and hits the spot. The coffee is without the best you will find in any eatery within miles - they roast their own beans and this really comes through in the end cuppa!! Place is always bustling and even when full you can usually get some where to sit and eat within minutes…seen some other reviews saying it’s loud- yes they play music. The place is bustling and lively…it has atmosphere. If you’re after a library this may not be your gaff to sit sip and chill!! My only small gripe is it is on the pricey side….but the quality is there. Could do with a members card for 15% off…..is this an option ??….. Highly recommend this establishment!

Was disgusted...no seating inside so sat outside on filthy cushions obviously used by the preferred customer THE DOG ...THERE ARE NO SIGNS REQUESTING DOGS TO BE KEPT OFF FURNITURE WHICH THE OWNERS SEEM TO BE OBLIVIOUS TO THE MESS THEIR ANIMALS MAKE...So what was supposed to be a treat for my husband was a complete waste of nearly £16.00

Been a number of times; reasonably priced, excellent drinks (hot/cold/alcoholic) options and the food has always been pleasant. Nice views of the marshland and over to Wales and service there is always pleasant. Great little stop off on a walk/bike ride or worth a trip down in the car if nearby

I have tried many but regularly visit here and I can confirm they sell The World's Best Bacon Bap. The bread is fresh and crunchy, the rustic type with a bit of flour on the top, the bacon is done to perfection and it's served with decent helping of ketchup (my sauce of choice) on the side with no plastic. It's well thought through so fair play to them. I haven't had one better. Decent views, good service, on a nice walk with a great flat white. 5 stars all day. 1 more stamp and I get a free coffee too. P.S. I occasionally go for the Reuben Bagel which is excellent also and the Pastel de Nata's are 10/10.

Came for a quick late breakfast sandwich and brew. Place was heaving and obviously popular. Managed to get the last table but strangely there were reserved tables for more than an hour and half after the time we were there. Had to wait a while in the queue to order but the food did arrive quickly and was tasty (just a sausage barm and a bacon barm, nothing fancy). Unfortunately as it was so busy and seemed a little disorganised it didn't feel like you could sit and chill, and we certainly didnt want to rejoin the queue for another drink - just threw our food down and got out so the next people could swoop in and take our table, otherwise I imagine it could be a nice hangout space.

Such a lovely homely coffee shop. Friendly welcoming staff. Would highly recommend to visit when in Parkgate.

Great in the summer with the windows open or in the winter when the place is all cosy and offering a break from the freezing wind on the seafront. Coffee and hot chocolate were amazing and come with a little biscuit too. Always a little busy with fantastic atmosphere. Great place for families, dog walkers or just solo getting some work done / reading.

Very noisy couldn’t hear yourself think never mind talk…. Ordered a 13” pizza and small garlic bread and two coffee chai latti The pizza was rubbish and had hardly any pepperoni on it… The garlic bread was tasteless hard and very dry… This all cost £30!!! What a complete rip off Won’t be going back!!

This is our Go To place .. fantastic coffee/food/atmosphere & staff are great. The musician that was playing on Monday had a nice voice/guitar.. however, didn't need a microphone/speaker to enjoy it as the space is too small and drowned out the ability to have a conversation with friends.

Awful experience which is a shame as food was fine! Online order for delivery - realising a core allergy error I called immediately and advised no cheese on one pizza - I was advised shouldn’t be a problem and would be amended. Food arrived with Cheese on both pizzas - I called immediately and spoke to the guy I originally spoke to and he passed me onto Mark Preston the operations manager in the kitchen - who advised the food had already been prepped when I called so no change. Mark did not apologise at any point instead being defensive and particularly not customer focussed. I suggested that had they told me I would have paid extra for the correct pizza but instead no contact or advice - this could have been a medical issue. I asked to speak to the manager - Mark advised me that was him … I then asked for a call tomorrow from a manager and again he suggested that call would come to him - he said he doubted anyone would call. Terrible experience let down by a member of staff and ineffective communication.

Lovely cafe/eatery. We only had a coffee. Lovely place to relax and chill. Sorry I wasnt too keen on the coffee brand, a bit too strong and left me with an after taste, husband enjoy his Cappuccino. I would definitely reccomend if you are in the area. I would definately go back but have a different drink. Staff very nice. Service with a smile 👍

Parkgate, although a picturesque place to visit, has developed in recent years to a place frequented by people with designer dogs and botox injections. If your thing is waterproofs, wellies, all weathers and filthy full-sized dogs, then you won't find many places willing to give you indoor refuge in exchange for decent coffee and food. I was therefore delighted to give this place a try on a chance visit and leave with an alternative view of a place I've been coming to since I was a wee Wirral lad. 

The Elephant serves great coffee, cakes and snacks for dog walkers in a relaxed atmosphere. It's an essential stop if you've got a vintage dog or an unfit cousin who needs a rest half way through a walk on the section of the Wirral Way which runs behind the village. It actually allows dogs inside, despite the signage which initially leads one to believe its a courtyard-only policy. 

I've been four times this summer and as an Austrian body-builder once said, "I'lI be back!" 

It's certainly put Parkgate back on my map for dog walks and I look forward to visiting it in the winter months when the designer dogs are attending to their social media followers.

This is one of my favourite spots to wind down. Great coffee, delicious pizzas and if you can bag a window seat, amazing views out across to north Wales.

Lovely setting, very modern and stylish, Staff are lovely too. However we weren't a fan of the breakfast, very limited selection when we visited. Also not a fan of eating next to dogs who were fighting and smelly, really off putting.

My go to place with friends, colleagues. Great location, fab views, lovely coffee and very tasty food, cakes etc.

Food was absolutely stunning! We loved the pizza boxes, they make so much sense as there's no way we were going to finish it so we could easily take it home without having to pester for a box. The atmosphere is lovely and relaxed. The windows were slid all the way back so we had a gorgeous view of the marshland. Staff were super nice! Portion sizes were really big and the pizza deal is an absolute steal! Have recommended to anyone who will listen. I'll be back for speciality coffee and a blondie!

The best Americano today I've had in a long time served today 25/6/24 by a friendly and attentive Barista .(such a nice guy ) . A delicious Chocolate Tffin too and very reasonable prices . Lovely views across to Wales as a bonus >

Was walking in the area and decided to pop in for lunch, weather was nice so we sat outside overlooking the Dee Estuary, we both had paninis and a cup of tea, decent food and not bad value for £15, staff really nice.

A very nice little coffee shop/bar (I'm only there at breakfast time). A great little place that does excellent coffee and cake and has a lovely little walled yard at the back that is a little suntrap. The place is dog friendly and is popular with walkers and cyclists.

Really cool and trendy place. We visited on a sunny day, alll front windows were open with seats both inside and out. Sitting on the bench next to the window, sipping coffee, basking in sunshine with far reaching views. What a place to be in a beautiful Sunday afternoon!

The staff are very friendly :) Went there for the first time and loved the vibes while I was waiting on my order.

Great place, lovely atmosphere but do think the increased coffee price is too high. Paid £3.50 for flat white which I thought was more than enough at the original price of £3.30!! Will limit my visits in future as too costly for what you get - shame as lots of other cafes don't charge as much .

Good place in Parkgate for tea, coffee and a snack.

The setting of this place is perfect. With a good selection of food and drinks, it makes itself the ideal choice for a business catchup meeting or casual brew.

Great place and good service food was delicious and fresh. Dog friendly in courtyard. Unfortunately what let my visit down was being a dog owner I sat outside when 4 people came outside to smoke right by where people were dining. My dog behaves better and we should be allowed inside not subjected to second hand smoke and vapes

It pains me to write this as I've previously really enjoyed this place. I've been going every month or so since it opened all those years ago and was once the proud author of a 5 star Google review for it. But things have changed and I can no longer stand by that review. I guess I've just had more 'misses' than 'hits' lately with Elephant. Tables take an age to clear and you are often left with the previous diner's leftovers sat in front of you for a long time (often, even if you ask a member of staff to clear it). Several times I've just cleared it myself and left it on the counter when it became apparent we were being ignored. The food is usually very good, but today we had a lemon drizzle cake that was exceptionally dry inside (i.e. no drizzle at all) and when my other half mentioned this to the staff, they couldn't have been less bothered. The guy just looked at him like he had three heads and didn't offer any sort of resolution. I kind of expect that in a big city chain coffee place, but not here. Also, £4.80 for a tiny smoothie (maybe 250-300ml) just seems quite stingy. I guess the feeling I am left with, is that when you are spending close to £30 in a café setting, you expect the basics to be done well and treated nicely if there is an issue, but that just doesn't seem to be the case here any more. I'm not sure I'll be returning again.

As a regular customer of the Parkgate Lounge I am disappointed to find that the place has been taken over by dog owners. I have complained twice in the past about dogs being in the front of the lounge when they used to be confined to the back and the yard. There are clear signs stating that dogs should be on the floor and not on the furniture but this is not enforced despite staff quite clearly seeing dogs own seats eating ice cream from the table for example. It's off-putting for non-dog owners to have to suffer barking dogs running freely brushing their wet fur against our clothing and the associated smell. It's a shame that it's been allowed to drop to this level. I would have sent an email but there is no facility anymore. Great cafe ruined. Such a shame...

I have been a regular customer at the elephant and have always enjoyed the food. I have to say though that recently the food has not been so good, little filling in the paninis and bagels, the food also tastless! Over the years I have introduced family and friends who are of the same opinion. I have also visited the latest Neston lounge with family and friends and this was no better. Sadly Our visit today will be the last also for family and friends ☹️

Stopped for coffee and cake. Wasn't much left as it was late afternoon and it's a popular place. What we had though was decent and the coffee was quite nice. Dog Friendly too, which is a bonus.

A lovely independent with great views over the Dee estuary. Dog friendly, wonderful coffee they grind themselves, nice sourdough bacon rolls.

Great service and excellent food

A great cafe and lovely atmosphere. There's a large partially covered outdoor seating area at the rear. Excellent coffees and cakes. 1 star taken off due to very slow service of the coffees. Cakes arrived within a couple of minutes, coffees about 15 minutes later.

I had a wonderful experience at Elephant. The food was delicious, the coffee was truly enjoyable, and the overall atmosphere and staff were exceptional. A perfect blend of flavours and hospitality—I'll definitely be returning for more!

First visit to Parkgate, popped in to this lovely bar for a quick drink after a walk along the seafront. The place was clean, the staff were friendly especially Eleanor. It was her first shift and she was a little nervous. I just wanted to say well done

Great cafe with a great range of bagels when available, this time we went they only had 2 options so I went for a bagel and a panini, cheese and onion which I wouldn't recommend as it over load with the chutney. My partner had a ham with cheese which was really with the honey mustard.
