We recently enjoyed a gathering at Y Sgwar with a group of 24—12 adults and 12 children—and it couldn’t have gone better. From the start, Lorraine and Cassy were incredibly helpful in organising everything, making sure our large group would have a smooth experience. Their suggestion to pre-order our meals worked perfectly, allowing everyone to settle in and enjoy themselves without any delay. The food was fantastic—beautifully presented, served at just the right temperature, and absolutely delicious. Every dish was thoughtfully prepared, and it was clear the kitchen took great care with each one. Both the adults and children had a variety of options that were truly enjoyed by all, adding to the relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. Our thanks to the team at Y Sgwar for helping to make this gathering a memorable one for the group. We look forward to coming back! — Steph Macnab and the Uber Family

Popped in here for a cuppa and snack and wow, what an amazing place. A renovated old chapel complete with Bible still on the Pulpit. Great, cozy atmosphere and the staff are super friendly and gave us advice on some beautiful waterfall walks in the area. Food was great and coffee was delicious. Highly recommend this place.

We hoped that because we tried to walk in one evening and were unsuccessful and had to book for the following day, that this was indicative of quality and popularity. We were not wrong. Great meal, great service! Over the week we were in Beddgelert we sampled all the local pubs and restaurants and this was undoubtedly the pick of the bunch. Slightly more expensive than the others but definitely worth it - canapés to start were an unexpected bonus, the menu was not extensive but very interesting, service was excellent (thanks Chris!).

I had heard loads about this place. So decided to visit it during our visit to snowdonia. We got takeaway from here on a friday night and it was, as per the other nights very busy. I have to say it was really good value for money compared to London prices. Food was provided in quite a speedy manner. However the quality of the food was not as good as I had anticipated. The cod was small and soggy. The chips what a generous portion but did not taste fresh. This sauces were an dditional cost. We ended up paying 3 pounds extra for tartar sauce and tomato ketchup. Not the best fish and chips.

After driving past every time we come down to Wales and saying we need to stop here. We finally did it and where welcomed by the most lovely woman. We had the last pasties (minted lamb) they are absolutely amazing and brought some cheese and crackers with some jam. These were superb. Milkshakes and amazing as well. I would 100% recommend stopping. Added extra is that they have electric fast charge point. It's very easy to spot just look for the large carpark as well as the giant cow on the roof.

Stopped in for a quick beer on the way back to the camp site as the heavens opened, very busy little bar area which I believe is only open in the evening. Friendly staff & customers, nice beers only thing to be aware of is that you have to have a seat or you can't be served apparently, something one of the staff told me so that I could grab a seat quickly which was very nice of her. Would come back here again maybe to try the food

The staff are friendly the food is very good and good value for money. My wife and I occasionally try one of the other places to eat when we visit Porthmadog, but the Port Cafe is a place that we return to time after time. You of course have the added bonus of the Deli that sells all of the usual things as well as some of the pies and produce that you can eat in the restaurant. Thoroughly recommended.

A spectacular hotel. We feel lucky to have had the opportunity to have stayed here. Rooms were spotlessly clean, the bathrooms were fantastic (had a lovely long soak in the roll top baths). Boutique hotels try to recreate these features, this hotel has them for real. The staff were so polite, professional and helpful, showing us to the outside swimming lake and sauna. I can’t say enough to praise this gem of a hotel. I strongly recommend booking here. Excellent cask ale at the bar too Helpful notes: Breakfast is at 8:30 Dinner is at 7:30 There is WiFi
