After driving past every time we come down to Wales and saying we need to stop here. We finally did it and where welcomed by the most lovely woman. We had the last pasties (minted lamb) they are absolutely amazing and brought some cheese and crackers with some jam. These were superb. Milkshakes and amazing as well. I would 100% recommend stopping. Added extra is that they have electric fast charge point. It's very easy to spot just look for the large carpark as well as the giant cow on the roof.

Wow. What a quaint little stop off for snacks either indoors which is very comfortable or takeaway to enjoy along the scenic road. I opted for chicken and leek pasty, hog roast sausage roll and a coffee..oh and a strawberry ice-cream..why not. It was all totally delicious. I live in the county and so will be making a regular stop when I go shopping in porthmadog.

Don't know why people are saying the lady owner is rude she was very friendly from the second we stepped through the door this was before she knew we wanted to buy or use the facilities. Used the self serve milkshake machine bannana and the strawberry well worth a try then bought two of the hot steak pasties they are massive and filled to the brim and very tasty

This review is for the 2 instavolt chargers at the same venue rather than the cafe. 2 charges fast and were both occupied when I arrived. But a short wait later I was charging. The prices are a bit higher but I was pulling 84kw from the charger. Was next to the cowshed which is self service after 2pm on Sundays (4pm other days) that had coffee/tea machine and milkshake and vending machine. 90 mins free EV parking too.

My experience is as per the other bad reviews, so something must be awry with the management here. Simple requests seem to be taken as a personal affront by the unwelcoming lady (assume the owner) serving. Snide remarks about climbers indicate she bears a grudge against this community - odd, really, considering the amount of potential custom what with one of the UK’s premier climbing areas just opposite. This, together with indignant and combative review responses mean I won’t be returning and I would suggest this business doesn’t deserve your custom, either. Food and drink is unfortunately average. Having tried the vending system in the past, this was underwhelming, too.

The woman running the cafe was rude from the moment I walked in. Used the recycling bin for a single empty can and she was upset with that and though I apologized and offered to take it with me she said “it’s already done”. When getting a coffee from the automatic machine it was like water. She was then rude about getting a replacement tea, and keeping the warm water that came out so as not to waste it. She made some remarks about us being climbers which were snide. Would not recommend given the quality of drinks and the rudeness of staff. Giving 2 stars since the bathroom was reasonably clean, but nothing else warrants more than a single star.

Stopped here to charge the car and have a coffee. The lady (I presume owner) was rude, and complained that I didn’t want to order food (at 11am!) she then proceeded to say that if someone wanting food comes I’ll have to leave. There were 5 empty tables! She wasn’t just rude to me, another customer who was charging had bought 2 coffees for his companions and she complained that he didn’t want anything himself stating that ‘it’s not a waiting room for the charger’. Well frankly if they’re separate businesses (as she repeatedly stated) I will use the charger again but not bother with the cafe & just sit in the car.

We call in here twice over the weekend. Jo and her husband could not have been more accommodating if they tried. They supported us with making my mum’s birthday celebrations special - supporting us by providing candles for the cakes! In the Saturday we had 12 people and 3 dogs taking over their entire seating area… they were great with us! The bean coffee is via a vending machine, fresh milkshakes also by machine, then a vending machine with fresh cakes, pasties and nibbles!! All available even when the cake is closed. The cafe (was open both times we went) and cooked the most amazing mint and lamb pasties, panninies and cakes -mmm I would definitely recommend this for a coffee stop off. They also have 2 EV chargers - InstaVolt so tap and go! We got a ~44kw/h charge!

I called in on my way to Trawsfynydd and was impressed to see how clean and tidy the whole place was and thought what a good idea to have a self service takeaway during the quieter months. When I left I forgot to pick up my bag! The owner lives opposite and had seen on his CCTV that I had left the bag and ran out of his house to stop me driving away but too late. I returned 30 minutes later and he recognised the car and came out with the bag. What a very nice chap. That is service way beyond what I might have expected. Thank you

Woman was extremely rude. Arrived in surprise that there was now a cafe where Erics Cafe once was. We paid £7 for all-day parking. We were packing up our bags to go climbing and having a quick bite as we got ourselves organised, stating how we could grab a milkshake or a pastry before we left. Before we had the chance, the woman came out taking pictures of us stating we were being disrespectful. All she had to do was come and chat with us, and she would have learned that were coming to buy something. It put a huge downer on our day, and upset us all, as the woman was frankly rude. I will never eat here again, and I will make sure others in the climbing community know the in-hospitality we received.

So first things first, the people who run the cafe are really lovely they made us and our dogs feel really welcome making sure we had somewhere to sit outside in the nice weather with shade for the dogs and even went a got some bowls and fresh water for them. They stock Marshfields ice cream for dogs, and people! as well as a range of home cooked pastries and paninis which were so good we went back the following day just to have some more. If we are ever in the area again we will definitely be making a visit and now I know they also run the glamping site just the side of the cafe premises.

The old climbing cafe is in new hands. It has a huge car park , free for customers. Biker friendly, dog friendly. There is an outside seating area with lovely looking rattan chairs. The menu is very limited to a selection of pies or panini for food. The pies are excellent but the panini were a disappointment with flavourless cheese. There are no plates supplied and cutlery will cost you 30p as well as any sauces. This makes eating your £5 hot pie awkward. So overall it is a no for me.

Lovely place, so many nice pasties and pies, lovely ice creams and friendly staff. We came across this place purely by accident whilst visiting the area around Snowdonia, in need of an ice cream but not finding anywhere to park we spotted the cow shed.... And a place to park the van. Had a nice chat with the owners?? Had ice creams sat outside in the sun enjoying the views. Inside is lovely, clean and welcoming too. We didn't have a dog but it is dog friendly and even had doggy ice creams. Various yummy treats to buy including hot pies and pasties as well as a milkshake machine, a little gift style shop also inside (I had to buy the obligatory Welsh dragon Teddy) and also accommodation in the form of glamping tents and shower facilities. Just because you were so nice and friendly we came back the next day for more ice creams and sweets before continuing on our travels. If we had stayed in the area any longer we would of been back for the fry up breakfast too, and if we visit again we will definitely pop in.

Went there for food and drinks, only to discover that the facilities have changed drasticaly. Used to be a fantastic place for bikers and hikers to stop for food, drinks and facilities. Unfortunately you can now only get drinks and cake ( which did not look appealing), unless you are an overnight guest, who are the only ones who can eat from the menu by the entrance. The outside seating has also been moved around to the side, (only access is through the inside seating area), where you are sitting under very low trees if you can not get a seat on the limited tables on the artifical grassed decking area. Thus making way for more parking for over night guests. There is a car parking eye. So be sure to put in your reg in if you stop for a drink. Personally I won't be stopping there again and will be passing on my recomendation to the many bikers that pass there on a daily basis. In reply to the owners response, my intention is not to ruin a small family business but to enlighten others of the changes made. If anyone is going out of their way for food. Then not to bother as you now, do not serve food to the general public and passing trade, only drinks and cake. Which is a shame as we used to detour to yours for food whenever we were in the area because the food was fantastic. Unfortunately we now won't be because you no longer offer this option.

The food is made by the staff/owner and it shows in quality. Everything I have tried has been very tasty. Now I go there 2 times a week to buy their delicious bread and usually end up having a cake as well. The owners work very hard and they deserve to be thanked. Hope they are going to be very successful in the years ahead. I would particularly recommend the seeded loaf.

I'm actually gutted to be writing this review as we thought we had found a good haunt when we first tried last week. 2 adults & 2 children all had a lovely lunch time meal the previous week so we rebooked for the 2 adults for an evening meal the following weekend. The starter was lovely for both of us but we both ordered fillet steak for our main and I don't know what meat it was but it certainly wasn't a beef steak. It didn't look like one, taste like one or even cut like one. I was genuinely gutted as it has put me off going back again because I feel like it's just rude to expect somebody not to notice and left feeling like we've been totally ripped off. You don't order a fillet steak if you don't know exactly what to expect on your plate so the audacity to think you can pull that off is unbelievable. I can't complain about the service, both times it has been spot on, lovely women but unfortunately we won't be returning after been served that.
