Very good food. Beer at a good price. I recommend.

Just wanted to leave a review to thank staff for serving our group of 16 on Sunday. We hadn't long finished our climb up Tryfan and wanted a pint to celebrate 😂 Lovely people working here, thank you again!

After booking online and receiving a confirmation email, we turned up last night to find the place closed. We tried ringing several times just to get an answerphone saying that the person is not available. We were travelling to a gig and hadn't eaten since breakfast. Sort your phones and computers out, you lost out on a lot of custom last night and left us high and dry! Only one star given as no other choice!

Very kind staff, opened the kitchen a bit earlier just because of us, very kind and honest. Perfect inn for a dinner and beer.

Lovely and helpful staff. Quick service. We had a delicious Sunday roast :) We were trying to find a place that would serve us lunch at an irregular hour. The restaurant was willing to cook up meals for us half an hour before their opening time. The waiter was friendly and kind. We all had Sunday roast, which was very good. The veggies were especially delicious.

Perfect Sunday evening meal with the family.

Visited on the basis that craft beer and good food was advertised on the website and tripadvisor. No craft beer was available and the food (steak and ale) was disappointing. A bowl of reheated, tough beef and a lid of 2 pieces of puff pastry was not appetising. Chips were ok. Tafarn Y Fic next door was so much better.

Eaten here a couple of times and found the staff to be very friendly, the food was delicious and great Welsh beers available too! Definitely recommend and will be back!

Lovely little pub for a bite to feed some hungry travellers... welcomed in and seated quick! Food was lovely and hot, (pre-heated plates too) and really really tasty. The dad and daughter duo were spot on and made sure we were looked after :) thanks again!

Excellent service and Great atmosphere. My Wife and I called in to this lovely establishment on the off chance. We were cold and wet from camping in a nearby field. It had been constantly raining and we just wanted somewhere warm and dry to eat. Despite being fully booked and appreciating our predicament a very nice young man called Don. Made every effort to ensure we had a table. With excellent service and a welcoming smile. Great food and Great Beer. Would definately recommend

Lovely food,but service was a bit slow,would still use again,when in the area.

Having suffered from throat cancer I have difficulty swallowing and looking at the menu I struggled to find something that I could manage. I asked at the bar if it would be possible for them to make me an omelette and after a brief check on the egg situation they rustled me up a delicious cheese omelette of the perfect consistency for my barely functioning throat. Incredibly kind and helpful of them on a busy Friday evening and very much appreciated. Very friendly staff and customers too!.

Popped in for some food and couldn't fault the place. The two female bar staff were very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent, home made, good sized portions and very tasty. Will definitely return in the future.

Excellent. Very friendly, accomodating and really welcoming for our first visit here whilst holidaying locally. Felt really looked after. Menu is simple but the food is delicious and there is plenty of it. Thoroughly recommended.

This place is a little gem. Yes, its fairly standard pub grub, but done really well. Don was a great host, very attentive and catered to all our needs. Service was great and although food was a little slow in coming out, there is only one chef and its worth the wait. They even went across to the kebab shop to get some jalapeños as they had run out. I would highly recommend

A bloody lovely little gem of a place, the chap that served us was friendly and welcoming and couldn’t do lore for us, the food was served freshly made and was delicious. Would happily go here again. The staff are a credit to the owners.

Visited Tafarn Tryfan a couple of times while staying in the area for a long walking weekend. Both times we found the staff to be very friendly and welcoming. There is a decent selection of beers and the food was good too!

Food was lovely, service was great and my dog came too, so a great time was had by the whole family

Clean, such a lovely atmosphere and the staff was super friendly! The food portions were quite big and all the in house made food was the best in Wales! The starters were also really tasty and both the starters and food was in thick plates that kept it warm for a while. 😁 Greatly recommended!

I've sampled steak and ale pies all around the UK but the one in The Tryfan has to be the best I've ever had without a shadow of a doubt!

Very good food. I came with my parents and my sister and we couldn’t find any available restaurants but then we found this place so we decided to book a table. For the starter I had chicken wings, probably the best chicken wing I’ve ever had except kfc. For my main I had chicken nuggets, chips and peas. They were all great but the chips were my favourite, super crispy and enjoyable.

Nice place serving good food at reasonable prices. Service was a little slow but probably due to staff shortages. Quite extensive drinks menu. The bottle of white wine was served unchilled but no problems in exchanging it for a chilled one. Not open everyday or all day on any day so better to ring up & book first.

They were very hospitable and the food was excellent.

Fantastic home made food. We were a party of 8 with Vegans and Vegetarians in the group. Everyone had a great experience. The landlord/ owner was very friendly. I would highly recommend.

For a £20 steak it was one of the worst pieces of meat I have ever had. I know fat adds flavour but it would have been nice if there had been some meat to add flavour to!! Pepper corn sauce was more corns as well... sorely disappointed!!

Always a good welcome here from Dewi and the staff. The food is home cooked to order and delicious. You need to book as it's always busy.

Friendly staff but I must say the food was terrible. The Blue cheese burger was a massive disappointment as it was dry, hard, dry bun, handly any cheese if real blue cheese and gritty little pile of leaves with a little red onion slivers to the side. This place needs a new chef to bring up this place. I suspect it's all pre-frozen and regeated food by looking at the selection on the menu. I was going to have the Whitby Scampi but asked myself why are they serving Yorkshire seafood in a Welsh pub when there is the Welsh sea close by. Hmm

staff very welcoming good atmosphere but do not order the £20 + rib eye steak as mine was over cooked and under weight . the steak was very thin like a frying steak unlike what i would expect a rib eye steak to look like.

The service was brilliant and good delicious! Morgan behind the bar went the extra mile and asked how to sign his name and thank you so he could communicate with one of our party who uses Makaton @themakatoncharity. Morgan made Alice night to see that he could sign with her and so she could have a conversation with a new person. Truly a precious moment, Morgan went above and beyond and made the night even more special.

Popped in for a drink, to look at menu and to book a table for later that evening. Met by the most unwelcoming, rudest barman/landlord? Looked at the menu which looked great but after getting a second drink and enquiring about a table for dinner we decided to leave as had just had enough of the rudeness of the barman. Had dinner elsewhere 5 mins down the road at the Ogwen Holiday Park - staff and food were lovely!!

Nice looking pub menu not what's on line so very disappointing not even any chicken dishes very basic, had the home made pie which was nice but waited 50mins for it to arrive and at the time only 8 others having food, so if going there be prepared to wait a long time especially when busy

We were staying locally and booked a meal here last Saturday. Everything was fantastic, the food, the service a d the staff. I would gladly give them five stars but they sadly let themselves down when we tried to book a meal for Wednesday night. I called them twice had to left a message on Tuesday and Wednesday we didn't get a call back. We were going to try Thursday and went past it going back to the cottage and noticed it was open, my husband called and told the girl that answered that we had left messages and her reply was she hadn't had time to check the messages my husband said we had eaten elsewhere. We got a call back from presumably the manager and he was very rude and said my husband had been rude and he said he hadn't and the phone was put down on him. I called them back and spoke to the guy and he said again my husband had been rude and I stated he had not I was told not to call again and he hung up. I did call again but had to leave a message because the answering machine had come on. I said I would be leaving a review.

This is one if our favourite places in Bethesda, great beer, friendly staff and wonderful food. Well worth a visit or 2 or 3....!!

Had booked a table for 12 + 3 children for 6.15pm 10th Sept. It was for a celebration meal as daughter was 50 yrs old. When we got there ......closed. Had tried ringing in the day as instructed to leave our order. Other people had also turned up there. I think it was an awful way to treat customers. They have lost our custom and we have spread the way we were treated . If they carry on treating customers like this they won't gave a business to rum I'm afraid. Very dissappointing.

Exeptional food, had a pizza and it was buy one get one free. Pizza had brilliant re-heating instructions so enjoyed the second one the next day!

Bright and breezy with a great outdoor area for the smokers. Had a peroni. Good value not overtly expensive.

Very slow to prepare food for 5 and brought out 2 meals then 3 more 10 minutes later when the first 2 are half-finished (1 star off) but generally good food ... lamb burger (the day's special, local lamb) homemade curry, veggie bean burger and beef lasagne all good. Good portion sizes. Strongly recommend steering clear of the veggie curry, we were told it was a sweet potato base and the chef would add some peppers and tomatoes, turned out to be a onions, peppers, tomato making up most of the dish with a little cauliflower, no sauce to speak of and no sweet potato or literally anything else - very poor. Second star off for the disaster of a veggie curry, I'm genuinely surprised the chef was even comfortable serving it with the good quality of the rest of the food. Shame, it tainted an otherwise pleasant meal in a nice place.

We came here to get some nice warm food while travelling around the area hiking. We saw other guests have the sizzling steak so had that. We also had the garlic prawns, garlic mushrooms and mushroom soup. It was all cooked really well except the mushroom soup which wasn't too our liking. The food seemed cooked fresh and was very tasty! The salad wasn't too fresh but was good enough for us. We drank water but saw there was a good cocktail menu! The prices were really good for us and the service was really good. The waitress was really nice. It was a lovely place and lovely experience. Would come back to try a cocktail and my partner wanted to go back the next day but I voted for Chinese.

Arrived late afternoon for a Sunday roast. Service was quick and food was very delicious and plenty of it. It was clearly home cooked. Coors beer on draft what more could you ask for.
