This places deserves my first ever post after a dissapionting indian on my first night (allways prefer indian food) this places is a gem and way to cheep singapore fried rice chop sue roll and curry sauce be back tomorrow

Got some fish and chips and had to wait almost 45 minutes, finally got the food home, chips were scarce, fish was soggy and had very little batter on it, menu was also extremely limited

My fav meal have every week chips and curry fav combo would recommend service is great make food great. If you don’t want to wait too long try get there early when there is a wait it’s worth the wait

Cold stale chips fish greasy not a welcome to Wales meal. Rude unhelpful staff

Really great chip shop, stopped there on the way home on Saturday night, everything was lovely and nicely cooked, and the staff are really friendly and chatty. We'll definitely return, thanks Mabinogion.

I love this chippy the chips are to die for don't eat fish so can't comment on it. The curry is great also sausages not over priced over moon when they re opened the ladies are sooo friendly and good chat while you wait if chips ready keep going ladies

Lovely food and very friendly staff. Chips were particularly good- propped chip shop chips. They were out of fish when I arrived which wasn't an issue, they get them fresh daily so it is understandable that they will run out, some of the other reviewers don't seem to understand this. I had a battered sausage instead which was nice. Will return if in the area.

Not really sure why there are good reviews, visited here on the way to Snowdonia for the weekend and waited 40 minutes to get 5 portions of fish and chips which were very greasy and not really worth the wait at all.

Best fish and chips in Wales by far!

The chips were really good and the fish was a little greasy for my liking. The lady serving me was really polite and thoughtful

Been there tonight (31st July) and were closed at, 9.20. Google says 10. Amend Google or keep to the opening hours. This was my second visit to mabinogogn where Ive been disappointed. Visited once before only to be told no fish left at tea time on a Saturday evening! Veyy strange. Im a new local and neighbours tell me you are the best chippy in the area but twice now I've feel let down Prove you are the best!!! Keep your opening hours and get enough stock in, otherwise my money will have to go to the kebab house down the road (like it did on the 31st)

Good chips that's all that matters

A friend and I went here after seeing the 5* reviews, but we honestly could not be more disappointed. The fish was actually dripping with oil, making it sloppy and wet, coupled with the fact that the batter (if you can even class it as that) was thin, soggy and only partially covered the fish! As for the chips- mediocre to say the least. Not impressed at all and better customer service wouldn’t go a miss considering it’s a tourist rich area??!
