We came for the 12 wines of Christmas on Saturday and had a great time! Rachel who ran the event was knowledgeable and friendly plus the drinks were obviously great! If it hadn’t cost us as much as the event in taxi fees we would be there regularly! Can’t wait to visit the pub in Audlem next given it’s much closer!
On our second visit to The Viking Chefs, we were equally impressed as we were on our first. The presentation of the food was nothing short of spectacular, and the flavours of the dishes were a delightful experience for our taste buds. The staff provided wonderful and friendly service, paying meticulous attention to every detail to ensure our utmost satisfaction. We eagerly anticipate our third visit and look forward to continuing our culinary journey with them!
What a gem of a pub! We stayed locally for a couple of nights so we were just around the corner.
We arrived to a very friendly chap who helped us with information on where to eat, as this pub doesn’t serve food.
The locals were very friendly, chatting about the area and where to visit. The land lady was absolutely lovely and friendly.
We went back a second night to be greeted extremely well by the land lady and an interest in where we had been that day. We had visited a lot of the sights of Shrewsbury.
There are few pubs left in our country like this so visit! A real community feel that should never be lost!
Thank you so much to Shrewsbury people!
My wife and I visited Ludlow Tuesday 26th March, beautiful day, a few more shut down shops since our last visit, but a lovely stroll around the town was rewarded by the welcome and choice of Gluten Free food at the Wesleys Cafe, at a generour price..
Lovely volunteers helping, having a chat updating us on Ludlow activities.
Well worth calling again on our next visit to Ludlow.
We were staying in an Airbnb properly for a few days and Gelatistry was just a few strides away. We went there every day, yes, it's that good. But the queues were long especially after the nearby schools break up for the day. Some most unusual flavours alongside the more common ones. My husband had fig and something one day - wouldn't have been my choice but I'm boring!
We were a party of five and this was an incredibly lovely lunch. We wouldn't usually have a posh lunch, and increasingly it's difficult to find good places to eat out. But this was great, and we pretty much ordered most of the dishes on the lunch menu between and so can recommend anything! The portions were generous; the food was beautifully presented and timely. The vegan and vegetarian options were beautiful and absolutely delicious; the vegetables are locally sourced, the fish was beautifully cooked, there was nothing that could have been improved. We are all keen cooks and love our food, and often disappointed with the local offerings in many pubs and cafes and cannot wait to try the brunch menu next time we are in Much Wenlock.
Ordered 3 Sunday Roasts for Collection. Delicious lunches. Hot and well presented. Friendly and helpful staff. Generous portions. Very well packed. Empty plates. Would recommend to all and will certainly be calling again. A++++
Visited here on Bank Holiday Monday in August, had the most amazing afternoon tea provided by Lesley and her delightful team. All the sandwiches and cakes were delicious and the service was amazing, we could not fault it. Such a treat, we will be returning, Thank you
There are many independent coffee places now in Shrewsbury so it hard to choose. I chose this one simply from the word Cakery in their name. I had a double espresso and treated my self to a dlicious looking sausage roll. The coffee passed all my tests. It was tasty, the right amount was served and they supplied a coffee spoon, not a teaspoon. The sausage roll was tasty too but I am not sure if it was made on the premises or bought in. The only thing I would criticise is the basic furniture but they have made the best of what limited space there is. It is off the beaten track a bit but I would recommend it heartily and I'll make a return visit the next time I'm in the town.
Visited following a recommendation and needed to cool down after a long day in the heat. Great selection of ice cream and sorbet. We had the sorbet and was very tasty and refreshing. Service was friendly and price was reasonable
Cafe Life have supported Henley Wood parkrun from the word go. Runners and volunteers, along with their muddy trainers, have been made welcome by the friendly staff every Saturday since we began back in October 2018. The cafe serves fantastic cakes and a wide range of hot and cold drinks. There is a varied and very reasonably priced parkrun breakfast menu - a bacon and egg sandwich on brown bread is my personal favourite - but there are many other options. On other days there are tasty lunch options to go with the cake. It's great for kids too with toys to play with and, if the weather is fine, outdoor play equipment to explore. Definitely worth a visit if you are in Oswestry.
