First up ample parking on adjacent fields. Hard to believe this garden is less than 40 years old. Formal design with separate gardens flanked by yew hedges. Water features in classic style plenty photo opportunities. The dining tearoom well worth visit plentiful choice friendly staff an good value. Would I visit again YES!

After visiting the Tea room at around the same time last year and having had a sumptuous salad lunch with a fabulous dressing and interesting ingredients (see photo) I was looking forward to treating my husband to a similar experience today... but we were out of luck. The Gardens were busy and by 1.30pm two dishes were no longer available. The options available were pleasant enough but did not measure up to what I had had before. Also it felt as if the salads from the buffet were being somewhat 'eked out'. This light lunch was a bit - too- light for me and I don't eat cake.... To avoid disappointment I think I would be inclined to bring a picnic lunch if we visit the garden again as I am not ready to eat at noon, even if it is to get the dishes with more oomph. Maybe I was just spoiled last time...

We went to visit the gardens as only 10 mins away and as a Bank Holiday didn't want to travel too far and get caught out with the weather. Enjoyed our walk round the garden. Will be lovely in the summer when all the flowers are out. We called in the tearoom and tried the vegetable soup which was very good and what we needed :-)

My wife and I ( HHA members... rejoined 4th Year...£80.00... visited 25 properties last year) visited Wollerton Tea Room whilst viewing the garden on Sunday1st April ( check web for days open)(free to HHA) and had a lovely lunch. We had the Broccoli Quiche with new potatoes and selection of salads £7.95 and myself the Pate with also a selection of salads £6.95 ( lovely selection of salad... pasta, couscous, tomatoes, coleslaw) and a pot of tea for one £2.00. The tearoom is a lovely airy, bright and clean atmosphere with friendly and attentive staff. There is outside seating for better sunny days. We will visit again.

We visited for lunch and a look round the gardens (see separate review). We were a group of 6 adults including one with coeliac disease and one vegetarian. The setting is lovely and there were lots of nooks and crannies with tables in so it didn't feel like one huge room. As there weren't all that many big tables we grabbed a table first then went to order our food and drinks. There wasn't an awful lot of room to queue at the counter to order and it was a bit confusing, but it was good to be able to see all the salad options. I had a mushroom pancake which was really nice. There was a good veggie selection and the staff were clued up on what was and wasn't gluten free. Everyone enjoyed their meals and we were happy with the service and the price. I'd happily go again.

Enjoyed a light lunch with friends during a trip round the gardens. A bit of a queue to start with and no ability to book a table but the food was worth waiting for. An excellent quiche with a good choice of fresh salads

I took my disabled mother here, using a wheelchair. A little tight in places to manoeuvre, especially as you enter the tea rooms, with other people about. Very pleasant inside, clean and fresh. Area outside to sit too. Tea and fruit cake bought.......cake yummy!

We visited the tea rooms following our walk around the gardens. Good selection of snacks and meals. There were also tables outside to take advantage of warm days. The gardens do not open until 12pm.

Wollerton Old Hall Tearoom is classy with excellent food and drink. It was raining whilst we were there so sitting in the shady garden was out of the question but I imagine it would be very nice in fine weather.

The Tea Room is surprisingly large for a relatively small attraction. There's the main restaurant, a lovely shady terrace and a sort of summer house with extra tables. They make a point of using local produce and vegetables from the garden. I has a very nice garden salad with ham from a bucher down the road. Prices are reasonable. Service is very friendly but a touch amateurish.

The best meal I've ever had at a garden's tea room. Really interesting coleslaw and cous-cous to go with a quiche or pancake. Lots of seating indoors and out on a hot day. Not surprising that it was necessary to queue.

Arrived at 12.00pm. and there was already a queue for the tea room, which was a good sign. Limited choice of delicious home made light lunches. Friendly staff. Seating available inside or out. Will definitely return.

Tea room serving a variety of hot and cold drinks, cakes, selection of sandwiches and small range of hot and cold meals.A "no picnics in the garden" rule, but who cares when there is a tearoom like this on the premises.

This quaint but functional tea rooms provides just the right size and quality of lunch or afternoon tea that is appropriate for a trip round the gardens. Food good. Staff very kind. Downsides are:-toilets are a short walk away; carry your own tray (but help can be available) may be a queue on popular days--but worth the wait

Offering a sufficient choice of salads and one hot dish, this charming tea room copes well with the queues that form as soon as it opens. The food is well prepared and well presented. We found it to be of good value and good quality. The furnishing is tasteful and attractive with a choice of indoor or outdoor tables. There is a wide choice of homemade cakes. Hot or chilled drinks are also available to suit all tastes.
