The Loft Coffee House & Cakery in Shropshire

There are many independent coffee places now in Shrewsbury so it hard to choose. I chose this one simply from the word Cakery in their name. I had a double espresso and treated my self to a dlicious looking sausage roll. The coffee passed all my tests. It was tasty, the right amount was served and they supplied a coffee spoon, not a teaspoon. The sausage roll was tasty too but I am not sure if it was made on the premises or bought in. The only thing I would criticise is the basic furniture but they have made the best of what limited space there is. It is off the beaten track a bit but I would recommend it heartily and I'll make a return visit the next time I'm in the town.

First time visit. Flat white was really thick and creamy and good strong aroma and flavour. Didn't try any food. Dog friendly which is good for Daisy too.

My wife and I have recently returned from 4 enjoyable days in Shrewsbury, which has much to recommend it and is a handy departure point for visiting Wales (by train or car) The Loft adds to Shrewsbury's considerable appeal. The Loft is warm and welcoming - the coffee very good, the food exceptional, home cooked to perfection. So much so we were regular visitors, not quite taking up residence (but close). I envy those living and visiting Shrewsbury. For those who have not sampled the high quality fare, The Loft is well worth the pilgrimage.

We came here on our little trip to Shrewsbury. Lovely small cafe, with fantastic food. The cafe was clean, the team were friendly and helpful. Really good value for money, the breakfast was a brilliant size for the price.

Friendly and efficient service, great coffee and delicious, super-fresh scones. Great place for coffee and snacks while shopping.

Very friendly helpful staff. Really nice sausage rolls - a variety of flavours and yummy cheese scones. We didn't have cakes but they looked delicious. Do pop in.

Lovely coffee and delicious homemade cakes with a friendly welcome. Very well worth a visit. Look for it just off the Square.

Excellent friendly staff, the food is always good, I have eaten at The Loft 6 or 7 times now, the freshly prepared food is top notch, I recommend the Garlic mushrooms on sourdough.

Popped in for a coffee and snack as passing. Friendly staff who couldn't do enough for us, nice relaxing setting, lovely coffee and hot chocolate and the prep brownie was the most amazing brownie I have ever had. Lovely place. Will definitely be back

The premises were very clean and the staff were welcoming and very pleasant I had a bacon and brie with salad roll it was very nice and freshly cooked and very quick

We wanted to visit an independent coffee shop when visiting Shrewsbury and stumbled across this lovely little place. We had cappuccinos & cake which were very generous portions. Definitely will visit again

Stumbled across The Loft whilst we were looking for somewhere for brunch. Very friendly staff and a nice selection of brunch options including waffles, bagels and topped sourdough. We had the Garlic Mushrooms on toast, and Beetroot Rarebit with blue cheese - both absolutely delicious and good portion sizes even though it was very reasonably priced. We will definitely be returning!

This little place never disappoints, the service is always good, the staff friendly and the quality of their offerings is always good. The only mistake I made today was going somewhere else, one of Shrewsbury's new places! So it's back here next time.

Called by at The Loft for brunch with the family last week. We have previously visit The Loft at their location in Church Stretton & have to say the Shrewsbury premises is even better! The coffees were delicious, perfect temperature & our favourite “rockhopper” blend...
