The best restaurants serving Default food in Sherborne West West Dorset South West

I went with my 18 year old son to use up 3 hours on a weekday lunchtime. The library of games is gargantuan! There is nearly everything here a seriously knowledgable games nerd could want, and everything is in mint condition. There are games you can play for a couple of ten minute rounds like Kingdomino or Kluster, there are games that can take 3 or 4 hours like Root and Gloomhaven, everything well known and classic is there if you want to drop in but have no inclination for learning, and all the very latest release names that will be flung around in specialist circles are there too. There is pretty much everything for young and old alike. The owner who served us was lovely, as was the food (and turbo cheap too). I am DEFINITELY going back LOTS. P. S. Try the cooperative game Kraken Attack. It is many times more complex than t or box art would have you believe and completely nails to win as a team of just two.

Somewhere Else Fishy Sherborne absolutely excellent. Great choice and versatule menu, beautifully cooked and reasonably priced. After suffering for years of awful chip shops we now have a 5 star establishment. Not only that but at weekends they sell fresh fish too!! Fabulous.

I've been to several award- winning fish and chip shops and this is better than any of them.... The cod and chips was perfectly cooked, service was friendly and efficient and prices are excellent value. Strongly recommended. Thank you both.

New to the area and visited on strength of other reviews. Was not disappointed. Fish was tasty, batter not overwhelming and chips were excellent. Will undoubtedly be back.

Food was outstanding, staff were wonderful and attentive would recommend 1000/10, the chefs are so talented. I am a vegan and the food was delicious, they catered to me so well. If you’re in the area this restaurant is a must (even worth it if you live far too).

We had an early dinner with my wife in this lovely restaurant before heading to the concert in the abbey. Excellent food- we really enjoyed our carpaccio starter and we had steaks for our mains ( the meat is to die for, very tasty and tender). Excellent service from both the waitresses on duty, sorry I didn’t catch their names. Extensive drink list. It was a very pleasant experience from start to finish. We’ll definitely be back.

Having had a less than positive experience trying to get a table at a nearby cafe, D’Urbervilles was recommended by a local shopkeeper. Beautiful building housing an interesting homewares shop with a great cafe attached. The frittata was fabulous. Loved it!

Booked for Sunday lunch with family. When I booked I asked for raw carrots for a member of the party. Unfortunately they bought out cooked carrots and didn’t have any raw carrots🤔 The lunch was good, hot and tasty. Cauli cheese was delicious. They offer small, medium and large portions. When we visited it was turkey or beef and you could have some of each. Service was good, nothing was too much trouble. This is a family run pub. Chefs are Father and Daughter and their children serve you. For young people they were very considerate. However, when we ordered dessert, the cream was extremely thick and tasted off. I asked if it was creme Fraiche they said no so we sent it back to the kitchen and were told sorry the cream was off and they weren’t sure where it came from! Who is doing the stock checking here? This has put me off returning. Shame because the pub has a nice atmosphere and the rest of the food was good and we should be supporting local businesses. You decide…..

We use this place reasonably often as it’s only 2 minutes walk. I don’t eat fish but my husband says it is good. The chips are well cooked, not too oily and flabby as are so many fish shops offerings.

Home cooked cakes , extensive menu , nothing is too much trouble because the staff are so friendly. Well done I cannot recommend it enough

Wonderful pre-wedding celebration for our party of 36 people. Excellent service. Delicious Italian sharing plates with interesting culinary twists. And we loved the magnums of Bottega gold prosecco. Nick went out of his way to make the whole evening really special, including arranging drinks first in the beautiful courtyard, Can’t recommend Nick and the Plume of Feathers highly enough. 5 stars for everything and everyone.
