Friendly, great Sunday carvery.

The food was good, chips were not greasy and scampi was as expected. The service was good, with a clean environment despite having a few dogs in-house, there was no dog/ animal smell you'd usually associate with a place that allowed dogs. You won't notice them until you see them, so yes really clean.

I came to Sherborne for a funeral and the staff allowed me to change clothes after a long drive. Also had a great meal. I am so grateful. Thank you.

Blown away by the food yesterday. Even the kids meals were fantastic and only £4.95. This is absolutely not mediocre microwaved pub food and definitely beats most of the pub meals I've had in Sherborne, since Fee has taken over recently. The chef clearly takes pride in his cooking and I would highly recommend to anyone!

Fabulous breakfasts, great value with a variety of choices. Classic (below) £7.95. Good atmosphere, ample parking and large dog friendly garden.

Had a Sunday roast here at the Carpenters Arms today. Absolutely fantastic! 10/10. Daisy our server was extremely polite, friendly and attentive. The food was excellent, fabulous roast potatoes and cauliflower cheese and plenty of it. Superb 👍😁 Thank you.

Lovely pub. Staff are very friendly. The landlord is a very nice man, makes the pub a really nice place to be in. Half of the building is the pub and the other side is the restaurant. I believe his wife is Thai and the Thai food tastes amazing and very well presented.

Great meal last night at The Carpenters Arms. Very friendly chef and staff and all the food was home prepared and cooked. Dog friendly with a lovely garden. Shame we only found this pub on the last day if our holiday.

Last time I was here, it was really good. Today though, it was not great. The starter was passable but the main was not. Overly processed mash, presumably to try and remove lumps, was granular and had an unpleasant after taste. The worst part being that the server did not apologise or offer a reduction - merely saying she would pass on my comment to the kitchen.

Wow, Just Wow. We visited The Carpenters Arms recently for a meal. What a stunning place. The food was amazing and home cooked. Caroline and John (landlord & Landlady) were so welcoming and attentive to me and my family. The stunning beer garden in the sunshine was the perfect place for us to relax after our meal in the sunshine and allow the children to run off some excess energy. Highly recommend for good food and a relaxing atmosphere.

Had a Turkey Roast here today and it was lovely! Nice fresh Veg, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside spuds and even Yorkshire Pudding to go with it. Beautifully accompanied by lashings of Gravy. Safe to say, I'll be back!

Staff very obliging need a little better training on allergy requirements when asked and booking ahead on for the patron. Enjoyed a loverly meals friends and relatives sad I'm always having to explain and cross examine the foods delivered.

The carpenters Arms, it used to be a 5 star, there are 2 well maintained outside area that allow for smoking, dogs are allowed. Restaurant bar toilet clean, food used to be spot on, lovely and worth the money I can only guess the chef owner no longer cooks, as the sunday lunches have been quite different, I used to go every week or fortnight, now I don't go for a sunday roast at all, as the food has dropped in standard, the staff where friendly and though the bar is a bit of a TV sports bar with pool table and relaxing area. Theres a skittle alley and function room. I know the doors to the toilets were heavy and difficult and there weren't any disabled toilets that I saw. The biggest ever concern I had with this pub another reason I no longer go I found a small quantity of what I believe to of been a illegal substance re smoking so it immediately got flushed away in the ladies, that's not something that should be around on a Sunday afternoon, especially when kids are about, I did report it to a female member of staff, who was a bit taken back as the owner wasn't there. If he didn't know he does now. Sorry but this I saw as a youth/ young child endangerment and I reported it to staff to deal with. We all know it happens but you just don't expect it.

Went there for food but they said they couldn't take an paying customers for dinner as they had a function on. Very poor.

Waste of time visiting tonight. Pub has a function on and therefore cannot cope with customers coming in to eat! Seriously? A bar full of empty tables and they send people away. What a disgrace.

Absolutely great meal. I had Deep fried Brie and Braised Steak. Steak tender and tasty and good vibes around the restaurant . Recommend this local pub for the food. Many thanks for good evening.

I can't really fault the Carpenter's arms- the food prices are very respectable for the portion sizes and the meals are impressively tasty in my personal experience. A proper pub atmosphere and a jolly vibe!

Sadly disappointed in my meal here. Whole meal was very dark colour and clearly over cooked, the chips were particularly poor, very soft and dark in colour, no crisp outside here! I asked for a replacement and was given some without question, but although they were nice and hot they too were darker than they should have been and were also on the soggy and on the unappetising side. The vegetables were a good size portion and were cooked correctly if a little plain, perhaps a more interestingly prepared vegetable side dish of a less generous size would offer an improvement to the overall meal. Just a sugastion! The venue was very tidy and pleasing as were the staff. But the price was IMHO to high especially considering the quality of the food.

Picked my food up and got all the way home to find they gave me the wrong order so had to take it back and then wait for my food to be sorted out and then when I took my order again and finally got home they had given me the wrong sauce was meant to be sweet and sour - looked like it but it wasn't it was BBQ and I didn't realise until I put it on my food. Overall food wasn't brilliant

Chicken was not good..more like turkey. Mango with chicken and pineapple???? Huge chunks of ginger in pork, ginger and onion ruined meal. Very watery, greasy. Prawn crackers not nice flavour.....very false. Not pleasant. Delivery service fab, arrived 20 mins before due.

Me habían dicho que esta singular combinación de un pub con comida para llevar china en el lugar y fuimos a principios de junio 2016. Todo lo que he escuchado es cierto y aún mejor. La comida era de un menú, mucho mayor que la mayoría de comida para llevar que han utilizado, muy buena relación calidad-precio, y rápidamente disponibles. El personal era muy agradable y educado como era su hombre entrega amable.

Had special fried rice and was very disappointed. It didn't have any sauce and was tasteless.
