Had a really nice lunch here. Sichuan tofu was great - warmed me up on a dreary day!

Fine dining at affordable prices. You wouldn't guess this is a teaching restaurant! The food is excellent and the service is great. I highly recommend a visit if you haven't already been!

Absolutely Fabulous! What a great place. We popped in here for Breakfast on Sunday morning and were amazed at the amount of Gluten Free choices on the menu. All of the staff are so welcoming and helpful and the food was delicious. So pleased we called in and we will be back again.

Excellent food and lovely staff. Relaxed atmosphere and need to allow plenty of time. Food freshly made by students on the premises. I had the vegan meal. My meal was roasted parsnip risotto, wild mushrooms, and a chocolate mousse. Oak or soya milk available for hot drinks.

Absolutely brilliant place, great atmosphere, amazing food, fabulous all round. Menu is spot on, clearly every dish is well cooked from good fresh ingredients. Having spent a long time in India & Nepal this is the closest I’ve ever got to authenticity in the Uk. Don’t even think about not going! A very memorable meal. Absolutely loved it.

A friend recommended this place to me for Sunday lunch and it did not disappoint. I had the pork and it was absolutely delicious - the portions are very generous and absolutely everything was cooked to perfection. The pub itself is cosy, with an open fire and country feel. The staff were all brilliant and the service super fast. The desserts looked amazing but we were too full to order one - I heard another customer get a dessert to take away which I later wished I had done! The price is really reasonable too, particularly for the amount of food you get - 7 different types of veg, roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding. A very generous portion of meat plus perfect crackling with the pork. You can also order extras - we had the stuffing which was also delicious. We will be going back here as soon as possible - best roast dinner I’ve had outside my Mum’s!

Great Little wine bar by the river

By far the best breakfast sandwich I’ve had in my lifetime. The chap running this place is efficient, polite and simply produces the best quality breakfast sandwiches I know. Not greasy dripping, bread/rolls are perfect thickness and softness. The perfect breakfast!

On our second visit of the week after discovering on Wednesday at lunch and had to come back for Brunch on Saturday! Lovely mix of traditional and international brunch and lunch with lovely coffees and cold drinks. You have to try the turmeric latte. Bonus for our furry friends they are dog friendly!

Not five stars for the service, I'm thinking more like six. Fantastic staff. As soon as I walk in, I received a warm welcome and was chatting to the bar staff like friends. I love going to places like this. The menu has an interesting selection and the food is very tasty. The beer is very good too. Keep doing what you're doing Ring of Bells because it's beautiful just the way it is. Thank you for the way you made me feel very welcome.

We didn’t stay at the hotel but had Afternoon Tea there which this review is about! Poor service as waiters seem to have no idea how to serve. We were rushed to pay as they were finishing for the day. We were not offered what type of tea to have. One of us asked for topping up the water glass while the other two got ignored! They had no knowledge of the place either given it’s a building with some history! A refreshing conversation was with the gardener who has good knowledge of the place, but unfortunately it was too late.

we were upstairs as a group of people. we probably made more noise than others (sorry). it was a nice place for us. the food and drinks are fine, not surprising but the price is fair. so, no complaints.
