Excellent food and lovely staff. Relaxed atmosphere and need to allow plenty of time. Food freshly made by students on the premises. I had the vegan meal. My meal was roasted parsnip risotto, wild mushrooms, and a chocolate mousse. Oak or soya milk available for hot drinks.

We love this restaurant for lots of reasons- we're supporting education and local catering students, the staff and students are brilliant, lovely and capable….but most of all the food and service is excellent….and great value! Two weeks ago I went with a friend for afternoon tea-the scones were the highlight, along with a lovely variety of savouries and cakes -the sandwiches were all very tasty….there was so much I brought the leftovers home! Today my husband and I went for lunch. There was a great choice of locally sourced drinks. And an equally great choice for lunch. As well as a choice of 4 different kinds of bread, the starters included mushrooms and blue cheese on toast, buttermilk chicken goujons, and minestrone soup, we had the first two….delicious. For mains I had the pork with cabbage, potato galette and burnt apple purée, highly recommended and my husband had the plaice, with aubergine purée, ratatouille and roasted new potatoes….and we had dessert: chocolate délice with honeycomb and raspberries- the best dessert I’ve had in recent months, and I'm a dessert fan. My husband had the sticky toffee pudding, which he recommends. The staff are very professional….and as the year moves on we love seeing them develop into the very best at what they do. Lots of praise to the teaching staff who are doing a fantastic job developing our future talent. Highly recommended!

The students are amazing - totally professional yet cheerful and helpful [we were a dozen older ladies]. I had told the college that it was a 'big birthday' and they laid on complimentary canapes and petit fours, and decorated the table - lovely touches. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. The young serving staff were unfailingly polite. What a lovely evening!

I was one of a group of almost 40 from a food and wine society. The restaurant is smart and modern since being acquired by Bridgwater & Taunton College, with a view of the kitchen if you're facing the right way. The restaurant prepared a bespoke menu for us, from which we made our choices prior to the event. There was a choice of 4 starters, 4 main courses and 4 desserts, followed by coffee/tea and festive petits fours. Everyone appeared to be of the same opinion: the food quality, quantity and the way it was served was superb. Everything was 'home-made', even little chocolate gems, vanilla ice cream, mince pies (of course) and the various sauces accompanying the different dishes. I can't wait to return!

My only regret is that I haven’t tried here sooner! This was my first visit here since the restaurant has moved and I loved it. From the decor, to the kitchen being on show, it was all a much higher standard than I had imagined! The menu had a lovely creative selection, the staff were very helpful, friendly and professional. We all had a great evening, thank-you. (The coffee brûlée was the best I have ever tasted!) It was also lovely to see a college offering a program to train students to be ready for their chosen profession in industry and it actually feeling real and such a high standard being achieved.

I have just got back from a meal at The Quantock Restaurant with a group of 5 friends. We arrived and found there were two huge groups already seated, possibly 70 Ladies. We ordered and our meals arrived fairly promptly, however, my turkey meal had over cooked potatoes, my friends were so black she sent them back. The separate veg dish was also over cooked. The desserts were fine, however when it came to coffee, mine was luke warm, I asked for more to warm it up, but that again wasn’t hot, so I left it. The staff were very pleasant, the new layout looks good, however we probably picked the wrong night.

Three of us went for lunch on a Wednesday. It was a really lovely 3 course meal. we could not fault the service or the food. Everything was perfectly cooked, at a reasonable price. Can't wait to go back. They serve coffee and cake in the morning and have gourmet evenings

Delicious food from Somerset Colleges Hospitality and Catering students. Excellent service too and all this from Trainees. Incredible value for money £17.00 for a truly top notch 3 course meal. We were there as a group celebrating a birthday. The place was packed which says it all really. Can recommend 100%!

6 of us enjoying a 50th birthday celebration at the Quantock restaurant The service level from the students is so enthusiastic and the food is excellent A very inexpensive meal of such great quality- How can they do it at the price? Shouldn't be telling everyone about this Somerset secret as when I book a seat in future Rebecca will be saying " Sorry fully booked" Well done to rebecca Tomlinson and her students for making this a wonderful evening

We went with a group of friends for a pre-Christmas meal on a Thursday evening. This was a return visit because the food and service are great as well as being excellent value for money. There was a choice of four starters, four mains including vegetarian, four puds as well as tea, coffee and mince pies. All this for £16 and with excellent service! I had smoked salmon and prawn salad with a granary roll, followed by roast turkey and all the trimmings followed by Christmas pudding. My husband had red onion tarte tatin, brisket of beef with pomme puree and bourgignon sauce followed by chocolate and raspberry roulade. The mains came with parsnips, carrots and sprouts with chestnuts. If you couldn't cope with all three courses you could have two for £13 or only one for £9. Give this restaurant a try - you don't need to wait until next Christmas either as it is open at various times through out the year.

I went to the restaurant for a work Christmas lunch. This is my second visit to the Quantock Restaurant and it was vibrant and busy, but the service and quality of food were sublime. I had the spicy butternut squash followed by steamed hake. My friends had the turkey lunch which was also well presented and delicious. The vegetables were plentiful. The food was presented and served to an exceptional standard. I'd highly recommend this venue for both lunch and evening meal.

Heard about this restaurant by word of mouth. My husband found they were doing a gourmet night so we made enquiries. We were sent the menu and realised we'd not tasted some of the items on it before and were a little wary until we saw the price. Trying quail, artichoke, samphire and brill for £15!!!!! What's not to like? The service was smooth and polite, the food was really good. Especially loved the surprise complimentary mini cocktail and retro sweets. I cannot fault the evening at all. Even the aftercare was brilliant, my cash card was found on the floor and the lovely restaurant manager contacted me and posted it back to me. We will definitely dine here again. Well done to such a young but professional team.

The service could be better and the staff could be friendlier the breakfast staff at least do smile, the service and the food changes from one day to another and not always for the better the evening food is generally good but portions can be small depending of the dish but a very good wine selection

A group of us visited The Quantock Restaurant for an early Christmas meal. It was superb and definitely the best meal of the festive period that I've had. I had parsnip soup, turkey and lime soufflé. My husband had salmon, venison and Xmas pudding plus a free cocktail. Fish and a vegetarian option were also on the menu. £16.50 gives you a really excellent three course meal and with a glass of wine at around £2-£3 this is excellent value considering the high quality. This restaurant is open to the public at certain times when the trainee chefs at the college can show off their skills. Don't think this is a typical school canteen. The layout, service and food are all excellent and the young staff enthusiastic. Well done everyone!

We have used the pub for many years but having moved away we made a special trip back and weren't disappointed. The owners have now added the 'Snuggery' which is a beautiful self contained holiday let which is in the old part of the pub. We were greeted by the warmest of welcomes from Vic and Paulette [the owners] and shown to our room which consisted of a lounge, kitchen and beautiful bedroom with en-suite bathroom. Once settled in we were made to feel welcome in the bar where we had drinks and caught up before sitting down to a wonderful meal. My partner and I both had the steak and ale pie with fresh, perfectly cooked veg and crispy chips [some of which kept finding their way onto my partners plate!!] - followed by sticky toffee pud for him and cheese cake for me! The service is warm, friendly and nothing is too much trouble for the team. After a few more drinks we went up to our room and had a fab nights sleep before heading down in the morning to a roaring log fire and freshly cooked breakfast. Needless to say we didn't want to leave!

As a type 1 diabetic, Cornish pasties are a rare treat for me, so when I do get one, it's important to get it right. This place did not disappoint! I got the giant pasty, and it was delicious - exactly what I think a pasty should be like. What's more, the friendly gentleman serving us went out of his way to find the carb content, meaning I can dose my insulin correctly. Fantastic! 😊
