Good coffee sat in the sun with beautiful flowers and the Totnes buzz.
The staff are friendly and the food looks good. Good to see there are parasols for some shade if needed.
I have visited Dayer's on a number of occassions over many years. Always impressed with the quality of food and service. The restaurant is situated in the middle of a business park and it caters mainly for local office workers. The lunchtime menu is similar to that you will find in a good pub. Service is quick and efficient. We visited the restaurant on Friday lunchtime. The restaurant was packed with almost every table taken. Avoid the Cajun Chicken Sizzler. The fries accompanying the dish were amazing but the rest failed at every level from concept to execution. Other dishes met our expectations and we would definitely return. If the chef or owners are reading this review, please add more vegetarian options on the menu.
Visited Soar Mill Cove nr Salcombe for a Devon Cream Tea.
The view from the hotel lounge was amazing and the best cream tea I’ve ever had!
Fabulous scones, ample clotted cream, homemade jam and fresh strawberries 🍓 yummy!
Would definitely recommend if you’re close by!
The food was the wrong order cold not fit to eat the worst takeaway we have been to ever I will not be going there again I will go out of town to get takeaway you need to sort your place out
A very friendly local pub which is especially great if you have a 4 legged friend with you
We stopped for a few drinks and some food, and the food was very good, beef nachos, some shrimp and a ploughman's was all so very good.
Definitely worth a visit.

Arrived barely warm, there was chunks of stale fried bread in with chips, spare ribs dry and chewy. Crispy seaweed was soggy, salt chilli chicken dry and chewy. Spring roll wash mushy.
Pork balls and egg fried rice was OK.
I've been going to this place for a few years and the coffee shop used to be lovely after a browse in the second hand clothes shop. Unfortunately the coffee shop has now closed but the second hand shop remains open. I am having a spring clean a nd found two pairs of shoes and two dresses from Monsoon I have never worn and were quite expensive so thought I would try and sell them there. I was made to wait whilst the very snooty up her own backside woman finished writing. When she deigned to look up she took one look at me, hardly looked at my shoes and dresses and said 'oh no definitely not'. I had just come back from a dog walk so she probably thought I wasn't posh enough to shop at her second hand clothes shop. I will never go there again and neither will my friends who used to use it regularly. That woman needs to learn some manners I was absolutely appalled.
Pretty solid pub, good prices, great pour and you can smell the beer in the wood which is understandable given the age of the place.
The garden could do with a couple more umbrellas on tables but other than that pretty good pub 🍻👍
I visited the Sportsman Inn today with a group of writers. We used a back room for our meeting and then afterwards ate in the restaurant. Our waitress (wish I had her name (young woman with long blonde hair) was very friendly, helpful and attentive from start to finish. I've recently been diagnosed as Coeliac, am dairy intolerant and am vegetarian. Not the easiest customer, but they were so wonderful making sure that my experience wasn't ruined by my health issues. The chef hearing I was Coeliac even made me a dish from scratch because he wanted to make sure there was no cross contamination. So I hwr w delicious meal and didn't have to miss out at all. They were so friendly and helpful. I'm also a wheelchair user and this can cause problems going out. Not a problem at the Sportsman because they moved furniture when needed for access and have a clean and spacious disabled toilet.
This is not the first time we've found their hospitality has been excellent to our group. Yet again they exceeded expectations and provided us with a lovely experience.
If you can, please thank our waitress for us again.
PS
Well stock3d farm shop with high quality produce.
Pies are really good quality.
Found marzipan that I have been looking for, for months.
Staff are a bit eccentric, but to be expected, adds to the ambiance of the place.

Not sure they understand that a kebab goes inside a pitta usually. Fairly awful yet expensive food and the place is filthy, floors unswept and covered in old dirty food.
Lived in Totnes all my life and have only just ordered from here. Definitely my new favourite Chinese! Absolutely love the fact you can opt for vermicelli noodles rather than egg noodles for the chow mein and its super tasty. Egg fried rice is great too. Loved the Cantonese sauce with the ribs!
