This takeaway has not been open for several months now. New owners took over the business, renaming it and then after a few months, they seem to have disappeared. No signs on the door, there's been no indication of re-opening and the owners haven't been seen. One former member of staff has said that they have permanently closed but this is unconfirmed.

I normally like 'locals pubs', most people are fine if you're friendly. The landlord seemed to have an attitude, and it didn't come over well. He should perhaps put a sign up saying 'Only locals welcome '. It's been a long time since I encountered this and its a shame because the beer was decent. The other pub was friendly and welcoming and I'd recommend that one instead.

Wonderful traditional pub. A great pub with good beer and, I'm told, excellent food. Just be aware that it closes relatively early (as do quite a few pubs in Kingsbridge). Get there for an early evening drink - say about 7pm. It really is a delightful old pub with a great atmosphere.

Received a mouth full from the woman behind the counter, for walking in the wrong door. No signs on the doors telling you which one to use and the doors are both next to each other. Both doors take you into the same area and there was no queue just a few people inside . I was on crutches, but she demanded I went back out the door and in the other. Another customer spoke up and said “what difference does it make and perhaps they should have signs if it mattered that much”. I couldn’t even be bothered to communicate with the women. I walked out the door and found another takeaway with excellent customer service and spent £45.. I work hard for my money and The Cod Father will not be getting any of it. Beyond rude and completely unnecessary.and just because you may be busy doesn’t mean you always will be. Customer service counts in any business.

Walked there from Salcombe which took about 30 mins from where the ferry drops you off uphill. The views are amazing and had a drink outside first. We all had the beef roast which was perfect, starters of pork croquettes which were also amazing and shared a dessert of the magnum ice cream - mind blowing. The service from the delightful Dylan was spot on. This is our second visit and although much quieter inside than when we went in Feb 23 it was a wonderful experience.

We booked to go to this restaurant over a month ago and on the day we were due to have a meal in the evening we received a telephone call from the owner, asking us to provide a pre-order for four people which was not possible as most of the people attending were at work so therefore, I had to refuse this request which seem to have been accepted by the owner however 10 minutes later I get another phone call from the owner, asking what my name was and that she would have to cancel the booking because she was closing the restaurant that day, which was last Friday 20th of September it was highly inconvenient and quite frankly appalling behavior. We shall definitely not be looking to visit this restaurant ever again.
