We attended a Burberry organized dinner at Thyme. The even room as wonderful. Rustic and comfortable feel, and very well restored and maintained building and space. Large space that can easily handle large groups, weddings, events, etc. The room dampens the sound of large groups making it easy to have conversations. Very friendly and helpful owners and staff. The food was delicious and presented well. We did not stay at the hotel portion of Thyme, however, I would believe that it is wonderful and magical.

We have just had lunch at this lovely little pub. The service and food were excellent and the atmosphere lovely. No rushing and very friendly. We will definitely visit again - its a little gem and so nice not to have a pretentious restaurant which abound in the Cotswolds. Thank you for letting us stay and chatter until 3.0 p.m.

We had a 2 night stay early May, what a beautiful building with so much history, loved the bar area, everyone was very welcoming, ate there both evenings and food and service was great. Our bed was very comfy but it creaked every time you turned over 🤦♀️ We felt our room was very outdated, we had to slam the door to shut it which I’m sure got on other guest’s nerves. We feel the rooms let the Inn down a bit, such a shame, but saying that we would still recommend. 3 miles from Burford, about £8-£10 for a taxi.

Don't be fooled by the lovely location. Like many promising restaurants they are let down by inexperienced and poorly trained staff. The head chef is not accountable for service. The sides for our table were not only missed off the order but also missed from the pass when it was handed over. Was there no one on the ball to actually check? No because no one is experienced or accountable for excellence. With so much choice it's worth it for a drink but we would never come back for the food or the dismal service. Why the head chef doesn't take ownership of staff training (taking orders) I do not know. His brigade is sweating it out cooking and he is letting them down.

Enjoyed a pleasant lunch on a Thursday. The menu was not extensive but that is to be expected on a Thursday lunchtime. But of the choices available they all sounded appealing. We both had crayfish cocktail which was beautifully presented and just right on a hot day. Then ribeye steak and fish and chips both attractively presented and well cooked. Finished with a very pleasant Eton Mess. Friendly staff. The seating on the terrace by the River Windrush is idyllic and peaceful on a hot day (which it was). The silence was remarkable, no traffic noise, no aircraft noise, just birdsong and the chink of glasses from contented customers. There are many beautifully situated pub/restaurants in the Cotswolds, but this is one of the best.

Had two really lovely meals here - love that they use lots of things from their gardens and seasonal ingredients. Really recommend getting anything with their lamb as some of the best we have ever had. Their pastry chef is amazing and dessert was fab - great vibes and fun music but can easily hear your table so they have pitched it just right. Come a bit early before your reservation to go to Bar Bar as well
