This place its awesome nice location and good prices .

Casual gastro pub, nice vibe and decent food. But we were rushed and hurried to leave from the minute we sat down at our table as a larger group had a booking at 7pm, even though we had a reservation. The food came exceptionally quick and at every opportunity we were told we had to leave by 7pm, we were told this throughout the meal, at least 5 times! It made us feel very uncomfortable and ruined the meal/experience. We even over heard one of the members of staff telling another member of staff that they noticed we had been ‘harassed’ to leave. I would not return because of this.

Brilliant find in the centre of the Cotswolds. Cool pub with heaps of character. Staff great and food delicious. Cracking burger menu with the plenty of options for the smalls. Double smashed patty was 👌🏻

We came here on the Easter weekend for lunch. The food was mediocre and the service was very slow. The burrata and leek starter was tasteless and would not recommend. Staff seemed very sweet, but new, and would forget the basics such as; new cutlery between courses, a request for condiments and offering a glass of ice with bottled water. Quite disappointed by the visit given the reviews and unlikely to recommend.

Re-visited this pub after 2 years and it's been taken over, completely new menu which I did'nt care for so did'nt eat. Last time we went it was packed, this time half empty. No atmosphere at all.

A gorgeous property with friendly, helpful staff. The breakfast was great and Layja (sorry about the spelling) was very accommodating with dietary requirements.

Initially very enthusiastic but as time went on we started to cool. The food was delicious but the menu was very limited. Car parking is also limited and there is no reserved parking for guests. Given parking space is a premium in the village this makes the problem even worse. The room was comfortable but the shower mixer valve did not work so water was very very hot and not possible to use it. When paying a premium price for a stay one expects these things to work. The building is quaint and the atmosphere nice but, for the price, must do better.

Absolutely great stay at the New inn - locals bar cosy and staff so friendly. Breakfast with room booking had great selection and set you up for a lovely long walk in the Cotswolds. Restaurant food also fantastic - we tried their special chicken burger and fish and bar snacks, all 👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾. Room itself was spacious, with pod coffee and refilled daily and shower/bath pressure was great, couldn’t ask for a better stay. Thanks Team New inn, we’ll be seeing you again!

Beautiful place . We booked last minute for New Year's eve and New Year's Day. Room was gorgeous and lovely server for dinner on New Year's eve but was slightly chaotic. Most disappointing was the way the manager Julia behaved towards her customers. We had a snack and drinks New Year's day which a lovely young lady served us with. My partner paid by card no issue. He fancied another pint later which we paid cash for. At this point Julia seemed to be flapping and checking the payments. Four of them behind the bar all checking if we had paid previously, very embarrassing and when they found the receipt no apology from Julia. She was totally inept on every contact we had with her, brought breakfast no spoon. No warmth I am afraid and she spoilt a lovely little break.Overall hotel was superb but she left a nasty taste in my mouth and would not want her on my team if I wanted to keep happy visitors .

Over the last few years we have always stopped at the New Inn for lunch after a dog walk. On this occasion we were disappointed to learn that the famous Cheney’s burger was no longer on the menu. The substitute was alas not in the same league. It was ok but why change such a winning formula!

Wow! What can I say, the Sunday roast was to die for, I also felt it was necessary to order a side of truffle fries to try as I’d heard such wonderful things and they did not disappoint! Staff were attentive and professional as well as accommodating to such a young family. There was a fantastic selection of drinks to suit all which could be enjoyed inside or out, in the spacious beer garden. I would recommend booking a table if you plan to eat, it gets quite busy over the weekend by the looks of things and you don’t want to be disappointed or miss out on the most incredible food! Will definitely be back!

Only three items on the mains menu, no specials menu. Some of the food was cold. We were very disappointed. Will not book again.

My family of 5 called in last night for drinks and food. My granddaughter and Daughter chose the Chicken Burgers. It was the worst experience of food ever. They were supposed to be Crispy Chicken Burgers. The chicken was awful......it was chicken thigh with skin on and even the sinew of the meat. When broke apart the meat was grey. You could not possibly bite into this on a bun. It was sickly to look at. My son in law had the beef shack..when we returned to our holiday home he spent the evening on the toilet. The waitress asked how the food was to which I replied Rubbish. She said she would speak to the Manager but he did not show so we left really disappointed. .

On nous a proposé de nous mettre dans un petit salon tout mignon. Très cosy. Les burgers sont très goûteux, la viande est moelleuse, les sauces très bonnes. Une bonne expérience de pub.

We had walked along the river to Bibury. That place was packed so we walked back and had lunch at the New Inn. Lovely welcome, good beer recommendations and very nice food from the separate burger menu. Great atmosphere and all the staff seemed to be part of a good team and were happy to be working there.

Lovely walk along The Coln from Bibury, in a quiet village. Beautiful gardens with heaters. We enjoyed the specials burger and fries served from 5pm.

This pub is in a lovely location. The menu is mainly burgers but they are so good! Really enjoyed it and would recommend.

We ate here to celebrate my husbands birthday. Five adults early evening. The dining area wasn’t particularly busy and the manager who greeted us when we arrived was courteous and professional. Once seated our waitress was dismissive and almost rude. We felt like she couldn’t wait for us to leave and after our main course asked ‘do you guys want anything else?’ When we asked for desserts she returned saying she couldn’t find the menus but there was sticky toffee pudding and an ice cream sandwich available. We asked another waitress for our bill and as we left on the way out we overheard another table being offered a choice of several desserts not just the three we were told were available. Really disappointing visit especially as it had been recommended to us.

We walked here from our Air BNB in Fairford as we had been told the burgers were fantastic and that they were. Nicely cooked and very juicy, lovely little country pub.

How long do you have after Covid to get your act together? I don’t doubt for a minute that all restaurants have got new ways of dealing with it all that would take anyone ages to get it fired up and smooth. New staff and new protocols must be a nightmare but I actually think front of house was being led by someone who’s a little eccentric to start with. Fun and friendly but a bit of a lovely mess. Food was a solid 4 stars. If I’m being mean it’s elevated pub grub, not a gastronomic wonder. E.g. monkfish tempura was delicious but the tortilla wrap it’s served in was a bit stodgy, gooseberry and lemon tart with super sharp lemon sorbet excellent but the elderflower tempura tasted too much like courgette (oil a bit “used” or probably just needed some sugar encrusted onto the batter - might have made it look like 5* food as well as taste better). Maybe all this will improve as lockdown eases, so do go, and have fun with trying to guess why the burger is called Chesney Hawkes

Wanting to have lunch on the way home (almost 2 hours away), I saw the sign for The New Inn as we passed through Bibury. The menu was really interesting and I stuggled to choose but settled on the burger because the menu stated that they are cooked medium rare by default (which is always a good sign of quality). I was not diappointed. My vegetarian friend had the mushroom burger plus fries which he also enjoyed. Service was great. So friendly and the lad who served us most was brilliant. We both said almost at the same time that The New Inn isn't too far away for a day trip. That's how good it was.

Habiendo finalmente hecho la caminata circular de Coln a Bibury, tenía ganas de tener un lugar en el New Inn, algo que había estado pensando hacer por un tiempo (soy local). Como mi esposa había asegurado una mesa soleada afuera, estaba en el bar esperando por orden, algo que el tipo de la mesa cercana acababa de hacer. Por desgracia, ahí es donde intervino el comportamiento grosero del gerente de la casa.En una fuerte declaración a la camarera que recibió pedidos de los clientes, dejó en claro que no se tomarían más pedidos para mesas al aire libre. En la audiencia de sus clientes en espera, él le dijo que el pedido que acababa de tomar estaba bien, porque el cliente era un cliente habitual y se podía contar con que no desapareciera sin pagar. Pasamos una velada muy agradable en este pub adorable. Valió la pena un viaje corto para cenar con una deliciosa cena de músculos y bistec a buen precio; De los cuales, ambos bajaron rápidamente. Un delicioso plato principal. El pudín de manzana y pera se desmoronó fue la guinda del pastel. Vino encantador, comida de amor, posada encantadora.

Estábamos caminando por el camino del Támesis en tramos cortos. Este pueblo tiene mini arroyos desde el Támesis a lo largo de su calle principal y es muy atractivo. Overpriced (small glass of prosecco £8 ), food very average and chicken tasted burnt, no sides of vegetables. Service charge added on bill which I feel should be my choice to give. Will not be returning and have cancelled a future booking.

Very quiet for a Saturday night not as busy as it has been when we have been before food was excellent but I do abject to paying extra for vegtibales when they are cheap as chips in the shops and not much choice as well but it was all well cooked and the Marathon pudding was to die for .

Fantastic Sunday roast. Couldn’t fault it one bit. Service and staff were excellent. More than I usually pay for a roast but would return and recommend.

Wow! A sunny day and everyone turns up at the pub....except the staff. One very hard working waitress did a great job but the service called for at least 3. Bloody Mary’s arrived about 30 minutes after being ordered but the food was capable and worth waiting for. Luckily the parties there got into the act and started buzzing their own dishes. Is this my first insight into the impact of Brexit? Where has all the staff gone?

we have been 4 times and on 3 occasions the food came out cold even the coffee was cold ,would not go again theres a lot better places around and a lot cheaper

The food was good quality but served cool and with cold serving plates. Service charge added to bill 12.5%. Should be at our discretion. Service was good by our waitress.

The menu is OK, a bit limited, however the prices are exorbitant. We wouldn’t bother eating here again based purely on what they charge. On top of that they have the cheek to at 12.5% service charge to your bill. Talk about add insult to injury. No recommendation from us as they need to lift their game and lower their prices.

We went for lunch with friends, who were visiting the area for the first time, and we took a chance that the New Inn would be ideal. However, considering the price for the food, we were disappointed by the experience. The main lady in charge was really friendly and the price of the drinks was great but the food was a let down. The first course of whitebait with a spoonful of cocktail sauce did not look appetizing at all, and no garnish or small amount of bread. My main course of plaice swimming in butter and no vegetables, only samphire plonked on top was just about OK but the amount of butter made in somewhat unappetizing. No mention by the waitress that we should order sides of vegetables. The cheese burger was similar to a McDonalds and chips were poor. Perhaps because it was 1.00pm on Tuesday we didn't get the best chef.

We stopped for lunch on the last Sunday of summer when it was still warm enough to sit outside on the raised terrace area with generous tables and comfy wooden chairs. Devilled kidneys and twice-baked cheese souffle were wonderful. The roast beef looked threateningly red but was in fact tender and delicious and came with plenty of veg and great Yorkshire pud. Starter size mussels were ample for a light lunch. A good selection of wines by the glass and great service on a busy Sunday lunchtime made this a very pleasant experience.

Enjoyed dinner at the New Inn twice during a week’s holiday at a cottage in Coln St Aldwyns.

We called in for lunch last week, a sunny day so we sat outside and enjoyed a good local cider.

We stopped off for coffee as part of a walk. I asked if they were serving any cakes with the coffee. Unfortunately the kitchen was not open but the waitress very kindly offered me a bar of her own chocolate to satisfy my sweet tooth.

We’ve eaten in quite a few Cotswold country pubs and this is certainly up there as one of the best we’ve visited. The pub is beautiful as is the amazing location. The service and attention to their customers was fantastic. The price of drinks/food is a little more expensive then most in the area but to be honest is reflected the quality of the ingredients and well thought out menu. The only annoyance we found was the fact that a 12.5% service charge is automatically included on the bill for a table of two, this is normally included for large groups. Tips are supposed be optional and amount set by the customer. If a customer offers a tip, they are doing so in recognition of the establishments quality. We would of happily tipped anyway as this a fantastic pub well worth a return visit.

My daughter had chosen this pub from her local walk & pub guide. Having walked the dogs we enjoyed a two course lunch sitting outside. Very pleasant although a wasps nest in the vicinity meant there were a number of unwelcome visitors.

Very slow service due to lack of staff. Waited over an hour for the first course. Overall took nearly 3 hours start to finish.

We came here as a last resort when other places were not serving. We were only looking for a snack lunch, but had a starter from the lunch time menu and this was great. Nice atmosphere, nice a cool in the pub when it was hot outside. Staff made us very welcome. Hope to come again for an evening meal.

De ligging van het hotel is prachtig, schitterend om te wandelen. Het hotel zelf heeft mooie smaakvolle kamers. Er zijn echter wel kleine mankementen die storend zijn. Een niet goed werkend toilet, een koude kraan die soms koud en soms warm water geeft, een tv die niet werkt, een bad zonder douche en er is nauwelijks ventilatie.

Food was ok if not overpriced. Worst part about the experience was the male on the bar, with blonde hair and glasses calling us buddy and guy? Where has good manners and professionalism gone? He acted as if we were his best friends and know him for a long time. His ability to pour a good pint was no existent.

I can not praise the New Inn highly enough!

A wonderful dining experience! An interesting and varied menu and our choices were faultless!

Knus, gezellig, leuk personeel. In 1 woord genieten. Verschillende gedeeltes waar je kunt eten. Zien er allemaal gezellig uit. Relaxte sfeer. Het eten was heerlijk. Wij hebben genoten. Wel aan te raden om een tafel te reserveren. Het is niet super groot. Als het ineens druk wordt kan het zijn dat je moet wachten.

Had a lunch with 4 people as a sspur of the moment stop while travelling through the Cotswolds. Decent menu with good service and a lovely outdoor sitting area. All meals were high quality including a perfectly cooked medium rare steak.

Visited for dinner in the evening. A little difficult to get on the car park as locals in a Range Rover blocked the entrance in order to hold a conversation with friends. Very rude. However the setting is lovely and the staff very pleasant and attentive. The food was nice but not spectacular. The wine however seems to be a little overpriced for the quality.

A family get together and a bit of a treat on a Saturday night, The New Inn did not disappoint. Although we live in the next village, we have found it a bit hit and miss in the past but this was definitely a few notches up on our last experience. Food was excellent - lots of healthy choices and heaven for fish lovers which was most of us. Very good oysters, mussels, mackerel and Sole - veg were good and our daughter loved her steak - chips could have been cooked a couple more minutes but she seemed to have no trouble in putting them away! Also tried the gnudi (never had it before) and it was light and very delicious. Too full for puds. Wine reasonable and staff very attentive and knowledgable. Will definitely be back.

Stunning B&B in a beautiful setting with fabulous restaurant and food. Lovely staff who are very accommodating providing a professional service. Our meals were delicious and steak served as ordered. Would definitely recommend and hope to visit again in the future.

This restaurant was lovely, we stayed locally and had been in for a few drinks. The meal was lovely, very expensive and the food was good but was still hungry after having a 3 course meal. A lovely place. Firstly we had a little alcove to ourselves, window seat, was absolutely perfect. When it started getting busy, it got louder and therefore didn't feel as enjoyable.

This pub had it all. Great food, lovely setting and friendly efficient staff. Highly recommended.

I was very impressed by the choice on the menu; sometimes you struggle to choose but we all found there were several dishes we wanted to eat. The food was freshly cooked and came to the table piping hot and tasted delicious. I liked the restaurant and bar area very much. The staff were friendly and polite. A great venue for a special meal.

Lovely, really friendly staff. My soufflé was the best part of my meal, delicious, and my husband enjoyed his ham hock. Our mains were simple but good. My husband’s main did not include vegetables and he was not made aware of this. He however shared my chips so all was not lost! He loved his lemon sole, though and my steak was nice - ‘what it says on the tin’! We had a sweet each - very nice. No complaints, very enjoyable.

Eight of us stopped for lunch at The New Inn during a circular walk near Bibury last week. We were told about The New Inn by a local villager and decided to check it out. It did not disappoint! The food was terrific, and we were able to sit outside on the patio. I loved the crusty bread and had the cheese souffle. My husband had a sausage roll. Everyone loved their meal!

A very relaxing place to sit and eat and chat. The food was good, and the service was excellent.

I don’t know if it was the chefs day off or what but I have to say that I was very disappointed with the whole experience.

Both our main courses were disappointing - mine was just a plate of dull peas with a few ricotta nuggets and my husband had a pie with dry pastry and gristle amongst the meat.

Dropped in spontaneously without a booking for Sunday lunch. Staff were friendly and found us a table without fuss and despite the pub being busy (unlike others nearby). Atmosphere was cosy with fires in each room. Good selection of wines and beer. Best of all the Sunday roast (we both had beef) was excellent. The meat, roast potatoes, vegetables and Yorkshire pudding were all great and tasted fresh and home made. Portions were very generous. The complimentary bread also tasted homemade and as good as I have tasted anywhere in the world. Our only criticism is that the main course left us with no room for dessert!

We had Sunday lunch - we weren't sure that they did Sunday roast as no menu on line, but they did and it was gorgeous. Everything was cooked to perfection, very tasty and good service and loads of it - def recommend
