Had some amazing advice on cheese choice from the lady (really knows her stuff!) in control of the cheese section. Delice De Bourgogne my fave, and an amazing red lecester too, but each of the five we got were awesome. She’s an expert, and really helpful, and we’re not. We’re in Swindon and will be back very soon. Friday 25th October 2024, 11.45ish. Brilliant!

Jesse Smith's Butchers - Black Jack Street, Cirencester - a huge thank you to Daniel for the incredible beef joint that he sold me for Sunday roast with my family. Following Daniel's expert cooking advice, it turned out to be the best beef joint I've ever cooked. I definitely recommend Jesse Smith's and a huge thank you to Daniel for sharing his wisdom and making sure I cooked it to perfection.

Lovely farm shop and great produce. Not overly impressed with customer service as the staff were too busy chatting to pay me any attention meaning I was unable to access the till counter to pay.

Bought two sausage rolls, both had clearly been on the warming tray too long. The pastry was dry and tough, and the sausage meat was the same.

Professional butchers , I wanted a cut brisket and no problem nice guy cut it , trimmed it and did a smashing job. Tasted beautiful. Always buy my meat here as its always of a high quality.

Lovely to look around. Beautiful fresh fish. Shame however that butchers of such good quality has burgers and sausages with gluten... Miss the lovely cafe

So frustrated … I went to Jesse Farm couple of weeks ago buying a beautiful rump of steak which was one the best meats I had in years(see the photos) I have visited the shop many times and I can not complain in regards to the quality of the products. I am however gutted that I was not able to have the same rump sliced off the bone like last time, instead offered another steak which was already cut apparently but it not looked the same as the one on the bone. I was travelling from Swindon and waisting an hour of my time and not able to get the cut of meat I wanted because they needed to sell the other one first. Absolutely annoyed and won’t return

Visited for the first time and found the fresh meat on offer really fresh and a wide range of products.

I particularly liked the meat choices, including goat. Good atmosphere with the staff.

We had the most wonderful experience purchasing from the best deli in Gloucester today. All staff were polite and helpful, but a big shout out to the lady who helped us select the mature cheese. Lovely store - definitely worth a visit.

Kept on seeing the size about the Jesse Smith farm shop at Elkstone and was completely disappointed to see one small meat fridge with everything crammed in!! I was expecting to see a shop like you had in Love Lane is was completely disappointing I wish we hadn't wasted the diesel going out there.

Not sure why but the standard once set by Jesse Smiths has slipped with both the quality of the meat but also the service by the staff on the meat counter. The last few joints of beef have been sub standard to say the least and no where near good enough for the price you pay - Waitrose and Aldi far superior and you dont get the snobery from the staff like you do at Jessies. Wont be going back!

Was served by them at Westbury soapbox races. Staff rude and defensive when questioned. Would highly recommend that everybody avoid using their services ☹️

The most delicious Côte de Boeuf from Jesse’s today…..seared in smoked butter from Stroud Smokehouse…..briefly cast-iron sizzled in an Oomi wood fired oven…..served with pancetta wrapped asparagus and smoked tomatoes… yum!!!!

visited there outdoors bbq today. all I can say is. it's amazing burgar was one of the best I have had we will be going again SOON

All local meat and farm foods, incredible value for money and quality I think your be hard push to go wrong here. During the spring on a Saturday they are also running an outside barbecue serving Burgers cheeseburgers hotdogs but using the tasty local sausages. Great value for money I would go without fail if I were you.

Love coming here for fresh food and treats to take home to my family also one of the staff was so kind and fun to talk to, also I love spices and he gave advice towards some really nice hot sauce ! Thanks guys!

Popped in for the first time on the weekend. Really nice shop, produce displayed really nicely, meat looked great, picked up some chicken and sausages. Sausages were 10/10, chicken was “nice” not brilliant did have a lot of water in it when cooked that was the only downside still a great shop non the less, staff friendly also and very clean

Fantastic delivery service - I use the online shopping. If you have to contact the shop the staff are amazing nothing is too much trouble and I particularly mention Josh the Manager who goes out of his way to help and is charming. Their meat is something else it is DELICIOUS it is proper meat not like the dreadful stuff they call meat in supermarkets. Their butter and lemon drizzle cake is out of this world I will never shop anywhere else and the cherry on the cake is that the delivery people are lovely and friendly too! Thank you Jesse's.

Bit out of the way but has great meat products, unfortunately they have stopped selling my favourite smokey maple sausage.

Visited today to order my Christmas turkey like I have done for the last few year , it was really cold , depressed vibe, I asked one of the guys behind the counter for help to order , then I was told to go home and order online , by the way there was about 5 or 6 guys there and I was the only customer . The butchers were unable to talk to me about the products there are selling they wanted me to go to a screen and select for myself , they actually insisted upon this , very unhelpful very bad customer service will never use again .

Lovely farm shop you can see the beef being aged which is amazing. Also loads of great produce to choose from.

Very nice coffee break with excellent cakes in a well looked after walled rose garden. Peaceful and relaxing. Pleasant staff, kind and helpful.

I visited the Burford branch and bought a New York Deli Style pork pie - wow! What a choice as everything looked yummy. Fantastic and very tasty, full of meat, well worth the £4 I paid. It’s a pity they don’t sell online.

What an amazing little shop. There appears to always be a queue, which is a good sign. I purchased a few bits but the best thing in the world was the rhubarb and custard bun. Was reluctant to share it but would recommend them.

Good value but very obliging if you need those harder to find cuts. Heavy duty hot sauce range and sausage rolls/scotch eggs.

Lovely local and branded produce on offer. Be prepared to pay a premium but the quality is there.

Great prices for amazing local produce and lovely service

We brought the best turkey we'd ever had. It was a last minute 2020 plan changing buy but absolutely a great choice. We managed to get our whole Christmas Dinner in about 10 mins in the shop and it was fantastic.

Great food in the cafe with lots of choice. Staff are friendly and are always accomodating even when you turn up with a baby and all the extra clobber. I really hope that in the future they start a steak night, all that lovely meat in the butcher's, steak chips pepper sauce and I'm there every week!

Beautifully clean and tidy. Wonderful atmosphere and very friendly staff. The food is AMAZING. freshly prepared and cooked to order. Their decaf coffee is the best I've tasted. 10/10

I think produce is of good quality. However there was a lot of staff around talking and was very noisy in general could not think. Also when served both at the butchery and cafe you were given the feeling that the staff looked down their noses a bit at you as if you didn't belong in there if you weren't dressed in tweeds or something. Sorry but this the vibe I felt.

Lovely lunch, I had a chicken and avocado sandwich, the chicken had so much taste. My husband, who was slightly annoyed about how long it took to park, was bowled over with a wonderful burger. Great beer and wine choices. Service is so friendly too. We’ll be back! Highly recommended.

A top notch farmshop! With a large range of affordable and great quality local meat products, there's alot you can treat your family to. With a large selection of over 100 different cheeses on the deli and freshly baked pork pies,the staff seem very knowledgeable about their products.the cafe is quirky and cozy with a good menu and a warm welcome. The coffee is very good with takeaway service available too.

Travelled to buy the sausages as I had them in a different cafe. Great service in both shop and cafe.

Should not be operating a drive through - we waited in a queue of traffic for 45 minutes, whilst watching people walk straight up to the “drive through” to order their food and receive it in less time than those in cars. As we got closer to the front we noticed that people had started parking their cars round the corner so they could walk up and get their food sooner. When we eventually got to the counter we were told that we couldn’t order chips as they were taking too long. Considering the 3 main things they were selling was burgers, hot dogs and chips, it is ridiculous that there was no sign to inform the poor people only just joining the traffic queue. No social distancing was being adhered to, even for those on foot who were standing less than 2m away from each other and having food passed straight into their hands, rather than it being placed on the floor. Will be sure to let all our family and friends to avoid.

I’m very local to Jessie Smiths and buy from there often. My local plumber suggested that I looked at their monthly hampers. They apparently consist of their choice of chosen meats presented monthly for £20. This sounded appealing so going to the meat counter I was told abruptly that they were only available to customers on Facebook. I try hard to support all local businesses and expect them to do the same. So as a loyal local customer I cannot benefit from their offers? This is more than disappointing, I will now find another butcher.

Came in for breakfast our first time after friends recommended it... absolutely swimming in grease over cooked and very poor quality after waiting for 20mins... never again..

As we were in the area we dropped in for a quick lunch. We ordered breakfast baps, flat white, tea and a brownie for pudding! Everything arrived promptly and the food/drinks were great. Thoroughly recommended. Friendly staff.

Friends told us about this place and what a find. Went there for breakfast and we we not disappointed. Excellent choice on the menu and everyone enjoyed the food which are all good size portions. The restaurant is at the back of what is a Deli shop with fabulous options on food and drink. Highly recommend

Went on line to see if they were doing breakfast on a Sunday, they advertised being open from 10.00am to 12.00 for a full breakfast. We jumped in the car and drive over for a good breakfast before going out, parked the car and walked in, asked for a table and was informed they stop at 11.30. We looked at the time and pointed out to the girl it was only 11.32 and the website advertised 12? To be told we stop making breakfast at 11.30 and it was past that time, asked if they could do breakfast as it was only 11.32 to be told “we cannot help as it’s after 11.30” I have been here a fair bit during the week for breakfast and use the shop regularly so I was really surprised at the attitude about breakfast. S9 we went elsewhere and wouldn’t try a weekend again, please remember if you go here that the advertised times clearly do not mean that yiu will get served or find a helpful staff member towards the end of their shift. A very poor experience this time after such good previous service.

Gret farm shop with great local produce. Great 3 for 10 deals on sausages, mince meat and other products. Excellent deli. But best is the takeway hot counter and cafe where the breakfast and lunch is so good. We always shop and have brunch at Jesse.

Amazing coffee and breakfast baps at £4 were great. Farmshop had some excellent meat offers on but generally expensive as all farmshops are usually in fairness. However, you get what you pay for.. best quality.

Best butcher in the UK, enough said... Paradise on earth, I wish I lived nearer to do my weekly shop there.

The food here is delicious, there ain’t a huge menu but the food is simple and good. I love their Reuben sandwiches and burgers. It’s not cheap and the service is pretty dreadful- most of the staff look like “Saturday students” slow non-instinctive waitresses but despite this the food makes up for everything.

Great place for a cooked breakfast

Arrived On time but issue with booking. However customer service could not be faulted. Staff were wonderful. We had a very good lunch, lots of vegetables and beef and a very large Yorkshire pudding. Meant to visit for some time and we will definitely be back.
