Lovely visit! We came for Easter Monday for a chilled coffee and they were absolutely packed but an amazing South African guy (think he was a manager - we didn’t catch his name unfortunately) served us and took the time to look after us despite him always being on the go. Definitely would recommend - especially if he is working!! Also the Hummingbird cake is a must buy

Food was really good, the cake portions were humongous! The pot of coffee was also plenty and was quite nice! Not many tables indoors , maybe a small layout change might benefit the circulation of people trying to reach their table or leaving the premises. Highly recommend!

I would like to send huge thanks to your shop, especially Polly and Ellie who came to our rescue when one of our tourist party fell and fractured her ankle at the junction to the park. Thank you for lending the chair, the swift application of frozen peas, the delicious hot chocolate and thr chocolate cake to go. I personally hope to visit again very soon. Was in Cirencester on business, so we popped out for lunch, was recommended here. Great food and fantastic area covered outside. Had a greet brunch breakfast, amazing sausages well worth a visit

We ate here over the weekend and though it was fab! Staff were lovely and helpful - service was very quick and food was delicious - I had a cheese and ham toastie and my husband the breakfast bowl, not over priced either what more could you ask for? Would definitely go again :)

Had a lovely lunch we both had the soup (roasted cauliflower) with sourdough toast which was beautiful 😍. Service was excellent very pleasant staff. All in all brilliant thanks.

Normally our go to place in Cirencester for breakfast as previously had very good brunch bowl. Now its just a tarted up greasy fry up with cheap ingredients. Standards and quality have slipped and staff would rather chat with each over than interact with you. Very cold inside heated by a very small heater. Shame they have changed what was a good menu and quality food.

The girl who served us today with red hair was absolutely lovely and couldn’t do enough for us, wonderful staff who are a credit to you. The breakfast was absolutely amazing and great playlist too! Great sizes of cake servings too❤️

Having ordered a plain croissant and an Americano, are my expectations too high that I hope they’ll arrive more or less at the same time? We have finished our americanos so I have just been back to the counter to ask whether the croissants have been forgotten? Apparently they were ‘on their way’ but really no good to us, 20 minutes too late. I don’t like to leave a poor review, and very rarely do, but it’s a poor experience and easily remedied.

If you want cake, this is the coffee shop to come to. Delicious, fresh and moreish. Situated at the bottom of Black Jack Street, next to the museum

Really love this place. The atrium area has such a nice vibe. The addition of the outside area is great as well. Love the new furniture. Service was fantastic as always and food, especially cakes, is delicious. One negative from my perspective is that the pricing of the kids menu is in line with the adults. I think smaller portions and lower prices would be ideal, especially for younger children.

the cake selection is something else, and delicious too. We'll be back for the breakfast. A whole, and comprehensive, free from menu is a nice touch too

Popped in to get out of the rain, what a day! To be met by a lovely atmosphere and welcoming staff! Clean, bright and warm just what was needed on such a dreary day. Had a lovely slice of berry cake, which I shared and a latte. Great place to stop for food or just a snack will be going back again!!!

We came to Jack's after our visit to the excellent Corinium Museum two doors down. This coffee shop serves excellent lunch and is accessible to someone with a walker (I'm not sure about someone with a wheelchair). My marinated chicken was really fantastic and my wife loved her meal (I don't remember what she had). My wife also ordered a cake desert (once again, can't remember what it was...), and she said it was excellent. And it's a very nice environment, too.

Great fresh bean coffee and nutty berry flapjack

I previously left Jacks a 4 star rating, but that was back in 2021. Since then we've been back quite a few times and it was so popular you would have to book a table but those days are long gone. We popped in on Sunday morning for breakfast and were surprised how quiet it was but soon found out why. The menu offers very little choice, gone the waffles, just a breakfast bowl (basically full English) or a small selection of rolls. We ordered a bacon roll and sausage roll - first thing we noticed was the previously high quality sausage and bacon had been replaced by cheaper alternatives. Coffee wasn't as good either. Whilst the quality has gone down the prices haven't. This used to be a real little gem but sadly we won't be going back when there are other and better value options available in the town.

Stopped here for an early lunch at about 11:45. Several tables were available as we arrived, but it soon started filling up. Seems to be very popular with mums and their young children. Those serving were very friendly, polite and helpful - and our food arrived promptly. The "Jacks Bowl", basically a cooked breakfast, was tasty and filling, and I enjoyed it. Included are two sausages and two rounds of toast - and the fried egg was good and runny. I felt that the sausages could have had a little more texture to them. There is just a single toilet, with baby-changing facilities, for all patrons. I'd go back again.

Lost its shine-soggy half cooked/nearly burned waffles and undercooked bacon. Chilly inside. Friendly staff as ever.

Staff member put scalding hot soup in front of a baby. Not only should more care have been taken but the soup shouldn’t have been served anywhere near as hot as it was

A 40 minute wait for a small slice of cheese on toast. (Rarebit). Nice guy at the counter, but I wouldn’t rush back, but explore other options first.

Good coffee and delicious slices of cake. Service was friendly but a bit variable - one of the younger servers seemed to find his job a bit of a struggle. But we really liked the food and atmosphere here.

The breakfast here was really good and the sausages were exceptional. Our waitress was friendly enough but just did what she needed to do so there wasn't much atmosphere. I would come back for sure the only thing I'd say is it was a bit pricy for breakfast. 35 quid for 2 of us for breakfast with a coffee and tea and some orange juice. Little bit too much :)

After breakfast, it's a very limited menu. I think most of us ended up having the quiche, and a couple had soup. The food was actually quite nice, but it was somewhere between slightly, and quite over priced. This becomes more apparent when you take into account the lack of service. There is no table service and after we placed the order at the counter, the drinks took forever and the food even longer. Service was so so slow that finding a clear table when we walked in was difficult and had to ask for ours to be cleared because it was the only one left to seat 6.... this is a real shame because the serving staff were actually very pleasant. Overall I think with some minor changes and reduction in some prices, this would be a lovely place. As it stands, I think I would try and find somewhere else in future.

Bustling cafe with a nice atmosphere. Lovely brunch menu; a bit unusual which is nice to see. Service was quick despite it being so busy. Coffee was excellent and the food was good. I had the salmon brunch bowl. I still felt hungry after however (and it was £12.50). I think maybe offer hash browns and toast with the bowl ? Nice children’s menu. There was a constant queue for the 1 toilet which was a bit off putting.

Big slices of cake that are really tasty without being too sweet. Staff are very friendly and the brunches are great too!

Had the best brunch earlier at jacks, the staff were all lovely and attentive, and went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. Would defo recommend the mushrooms on toast and the berry smoothie! Thank you!! Will be back

Nice little stop for a coffee and a treat. Good selection of food and drink. It was fairly busy and perhaps understaffed as lots of the tables needed clearing/cleaning but would go again.

Had read all the reviews so was looking forward to a pit stop here. Allergy information was very slow as staff had to go and look it up, thereby creating a queue which is always so embarrassing. Ended up not being able to have anything from the cake selection. Raspberry smoothie was good though and my sister's cinnamon roll looked (and tasted according to her) delicious.

Amazing experience last week for my first visit at jacks, all staff extremely attentive and welcoming. Will definitely be back to this lovely place

Such a bad experience. Dirty tables, horrible service (the waitress spelt the espresso and just ran from the table and I had to call her back to replace it), the food was ok (good flavours) but overpriced- 12.95£ for a single poached egg with sourdough toast and halloumi cubes. Please start from cleaning the tables after people are leaving..not recommended

Popped into this busy tea room for a spot of lunch, as we took a break from the fabulous Corinium Museum next door. The staff were friendly and the establishment was clean, although vacated tables could perhaps have been cleared a bit more quickly. The covered walkway was nice to sit in, with a rustic feel. Free WiFi was available. Food and drink received were of good quality. Good range of cakes, light bites and drinks available, even a selection of treats for dogs!

This is a great find. It is worth waiting if there is not seating available. Friendly and honest staff, giving good advice, very customer and service minded. Amazong food and cakes. Thanks team.

We called in for a cup of coffee in the late afternoon. The staff were welcoming and friendly, even though they were getting ready to close. The coffee was freshly made and tasted very good. Even though we didn't have one, the cakes on display were delicious. As we had our dog with us, we sat in the covered courtyard area which was very pleasant.

We had breakfast there, the service was good and friendly, lovely cup of tea. We had the sausage Butties, the were on a dry toasted roll the sausage was also very dry and overcooked. A little butter on the roll or a bit of rocket or lettuce would of made it a lot less dry. I can't understand why bread is not buttered anymoor. For the price charged it is not a lot to expect.

A friendly tearoom in Blackjack street that's bigger than it looks so worth a try no matter how busy the town is. Sourdough toasties are recommended, as are the milkshakes and Rocky road. They do bigger meals at lunchtime as well. Staff are friendly and on the ball, clearing tables promptly which is always a good sign. Dog friendly too.

Exceptionally good : toasties and milkshakes were very tasty, staff were very friendly and considerate. Enough space for my mum's pusher and for our dog around our table. Our visit really made our day here. So nice they welcomed dogs of all sizes.

Nice brunch received. Staff were friendly and the establishment was clean. Covered walk way was nice to sit in although may be very hot during high temperatures. Food was good quality although it be nice if the buns came with some side garnish. Would recommend here. The grilled halloumi bun was quite spicy. Only one toilet but was clean.

Went to have a birthday brunch had no idea where to be served no clarity on how to get a menu or even where to sit. Then the food was mostly mediocre. My food came with a poached egg that was just liquid egg whites. We then asked if it was possible to get a new one then they brought back the plate with runny egg whites and the poached egg water all over it making the rest of the food just soggy. Af this point we just wanted to leave and after telling the servers the experience we were having they were nothing but confrontational and rude. Ruined my birthday. And a waist of money don’t go here !!!!

We stopped in for Brunch today and had crushed avocado with poached eggs on sourdough with rocket. What we received was avocado puree with hard boiled egg on sourdough with rocket. It was disgusting! They need to change the description in the menu to what was dished up or change what was dished up.

Best breakfast in Cirencester!!!

Jacks is a really stylish cafe with comfortable seating, spacious and lovely decor. The staff were friendly and efficient, the food and drinks were amazing. My cappuccino was delicious and hot, and stylishly finished. We had brunch bowls, the sausage and bacon were absolutely delicious and we can’t wait to go back next time we are visiting our friends In Cirencester. Would recommend to everyone.

Had previously visited Jacks a number of years back and thought it was excellent, disappointed to see that is no longer the case. Service was really slow, food was served stone cold and the poached egg was basically hard boiled. Guest wifi saves a star, but overall would not recommend.

Poor experience today, Service was awfully slow, and the food could have been significantly better. Has made me feel rather unwell since eating there. Would not Recommend

Both coffees luke warm. Husband just downed his which was a little disappointing given the price but on mentioning the temperature of mine to a member of staff, a further drink was brought out and almost chucked at me. No apology. Husband even commented to me about how rude the service was. Won’t be returning

Pretty much self service here. Staff just sat behind the service desk texting. Had to ask to have the table cleaned. Had to fetch our our cutlery. Good was good though. I don't think I'll be visiting again in a hurry.

We visited this cafe as recommended in the museum next door. Crowded but nice. Nice food but surprisingly they didn’t have English Mustard but only Dijon !! How can you eat English sausage rolls with Dijon Mustard ?? We tried to have some cake but...

Nice but very very overpriced. The toasty was tasty but pretty small, you could at least throw in some crisps or something. Service wasn't particularly friendly either.

First visit. Bit cramped ( but is a small place). However, we were lucky and got a table immediately. Friendly staff, really well cooked breakfast bowl, piping hot and clearly good quality. I enquired about reserving a table, was told first come first served , no problem understandable as a small establishment, then saw a "reserved" sign placed onto a table!!. However, will definitely be returning with fingers crossed there will be room for us!!!

The food itself was delicious, but for £9 rarebit I expected a bit more than one miserly slice of sourdough with supermarket salad. Didn't touch the sides. Just off to get a Tesco meal deal as I'm still starving! Don't like to complain in the restaurant as I didn't want to cause a scene and the tables are very close together, but wanted to point it out. Just because food is good doesn't mean you should get less of it.

We have been coming to Jack's for breakfast for years and have always been very pleased with the food. However they have just changed the menu and it has been greatly reduced. There are no eggs for breakfast anymore 😢. Therefore we will have to find an alternative. Such a shame bring your breakfast menu back Jack's!!

Great coffee good service just a bit cold inside

I popped in for a cappuccino and cake. The coffee was very good and a decent size for a change. The cake was delicious. I like dogs, lovely. A nice, relaxing atmosphere. Thank you.

Really good food which is well prepared. Great alternatives to the usual fry up or pancakes for breakfast or brunch. Good veggie options. Good service. Really pleased we booked as lots of walk ins being turned away- very busy.

Having booked in advance at least we were spared the queue - service was non existent …. We were shown to the table and were then left unattended for ages . We had to repeatedly ask to order / ask for cutlery/ ask to pay...

We had the chocolate cake, to much baking powder in it so had a horrible bitter taste that overpowered the chocolate and very dry. They don't use a separate knife to cut so not fully gluten free

Good coffee - a definite improvement on any of the chains. The cake was awesome. The slices of cake were enormous. I saw several other customers not being able to finish all of their cakes. I did finish mine, but then I really, really like sweet things and enormous slabs of cake! Dog friendly as well. The serving staff were generally helpful. One of the young women serving was really warm and helpful. I was looking for a dog bowl and she instantly helped me by filling it with fresh water and bringing it over to our table. So, a great experience overall. Thank you Jacks!

We went in on a rainy day and order tea and cake. We had about half a pot of tea and a third of a cake to work on when a waitress (suggested by her manager) came over and asked us out of nowhere if we wanted a box for our cake. We realised they had customers waiting and wanted to get rid of us. It was a revenue-driven decision on their part, but was quite rude.

The staff were lovely and very attentive. I really enjoyed the ambiance and the high roofed rustic setting. I ordered soup of the day which was mushroom soup with homemade foccacia. I must say it was absolutely delicious and rich in flavours. I also ordered Homemade Brioche Butties, Old Spot Sausage with extra Streaky Bacon and halloumi sticks. The burger was slightly dry however despite the sausage and bacon being cooked well. The halloumi sticks were a disappointment, they were rubbery and too salty so I wouldn’t not recommend them. All in all it was a good brunch, so I would definitely recommend it !!

Fantastic service 👏🏾 👌🏾 wonderful coffee and sublime scrambled eggs and toast, had to add sausages too... 😋 will definitely come back. Quaint venue with good lighting and intimate spaces.
