Stopped there for a coffee and a slice of Millionaire's shortbread after a walk with the ramblers taking in the local snowdrops. Service was very friendly and the inside of the shop reminded me of how shops were in Victorian times. Certainly it made me think of the grocery shop I saw years ago at Blists Hill Victorian Town in Ironbridge. They still have a rule of a maximum of 3 people in the shop but as long as you abide by their rules you will be just fine. We sat outside and had our drinks and snacks. They also serve sandwiches if you want a light lunch.

I’ve seen a couple of poor reviews of this place, but I found it delightful. They’d run out of sandwiches, but offered to make me one. I decided to just have Sherborne Pud ( sort of bread and butter pudding) and a cup of tea, both of which went down fine, sitting in their lovely, sunny front garden. It’s basically a shop/deli, so don’t expect too much in the way of menu/service - but in an area that seems to have very few residents ( at least during the week) it’s a godsend.

Visited here on our walk, was a lovely day until we bumped into the staff of the shop, very rude, unbelievably so . My wife has recently given birth and still has a weak bladder, we walked a extra distance in the comforting knowledge every tea room has a toilet ... not this one ( , we had every intention of sitting in the garden and having a coffee and a cake but just felt so unwelcome. As for the covid rules, completely respect everyone's circumstances towards it but it is very far fetched in there if it's as bad as they are making out maybe they shouldn't be working with the public . just very unpleasant experience to say the least ! Honestly thought I was some kind of TV as to how the staff were , was waiting for some tv presenter to jump out and say it's all a set up ! We found a lovely pub in barrington called the fox that was very accommodating , I would recommend avoiding the tea room and heading straight to the pub ! ( my review is not based on the fact of no toilet, but just how rude the staff are . Such a shame for a wonderful area !

If you are expecting a coffee shop, this is not the place for you. Very strict COVID precautions, No indoor seating, very rude staff, drinks left outside the door of the shop rather than being bought to you, and absolutely no use of the toilet which is always lovely to hear when you have an 8 year old needing to “go”. This shop appears to be run by tyrannical dictators instead of compassionate human beings. I Won’t be returning.

We were looking for a nice spot for tea during a day trip to the Cotswolds and saw this place online with a strong rating so drove out of our way there. Google had told us that it closed at 5pm and we arrived half an hour before. On arrival, we were told that the tea room had closed but we were welcome to take away tea and sit on the wall outside! We ordered coffee and were told by the grumpy server that they couldn’t give us coffee due to the machine being cleaned. When I asked if I could use the bathroom, I was told that I couldn’t as they had been cleaned. Despite the member of staff hearing that we had a 2 hour drive back to London, she still wouldn’t let us use the lois suggesting we go to Bourton-on-the-Water. Very rude service overall and not reflective of their opening hours. I will be returning to the Cotswolds again but will be 100% avoiding this place.

Visited today for breakfast before enjoying a nice walk around the Sherborne Park Estate (purple and pink routes). A wonderful welcome from the very friendly staff and locals. We both enjoyed lattes. I had a yummy pain aux raisin and my partner had an excellent bacon and egg sandwich. It was a lovely sunny day on Friday, and we were able to have lunch outside. We ate one of their sharing platters - a good quantity of meats, cheese and salad with proper bread for about £18. A real local gem with full sun, outdoor seating (about 5-6 tables). Attentive service, well catering to allergies. The shop also sells a good selection of allergy friendly options. Meals are modest but nice. Drinks are not too sweet! This is the perfect 34 minutes extra walk added onto a Great Rissington circular walk (--the one starting and ending at the church). We had a grumpy and disrespectful guest with us, and the staff generously and professionally allowed his rudeness to glide right off.

We called here for lunch. The tuna sandwich was good, as was the tea but the cream tea was horrible. Microwaved scones which resulted in flabby, soggy scones with melted clotted cream even after splitting and waiting. I asked for a cold scone. Offhand answer - 'They're frozen then microwaved'.Afterwards told proprietor who used the old chestnut 'I've never had a complaint before'. She questioned my judgement (I'm English - I know my scones!). Money back but a depressing example of customer service. Avoid.

Five of us stopped here on a glorious bike ride for some light refreshments on the hottest day of the year so far. We were greeted by a grumpy lady saying the cafe had closed for food, but they could serve us cold drinks. I happily stuck my head in the fridge to cool off and retrieve 5 icy cold cans of fizzy pop. The tumble weed moment and another grumpy response from the lady came when we asked if they could fill our water bottles up. She said “all of them”. You would have thought we had asked her to trek to the middle of the Gobi desert to find water. Kudos goes to the young lad who was very helpful as I think he was fairly embarrassed. We wanted cooling down, but the frosty welcome wasn’t what we expected!

There are only a few tables as the cafe is really an extension of the shop but it's so cute and the staff couldn't do enough for us. Sandwiches, fresh cakes, and a couple of hot options available, we had afternoon tea at £9.45 (tea, sandwiches, cake, scone) or just have a bacon sandwich at about £4.50 I think. I reckon that we've stopped off for coffee/cake/food/groceries about three time a month for quite a number of years. What brings us back so regularly is the time and effort the team put into the food, service and general bonhomie. They aim to source as much as they can locally and the quality of the food is always excellent. Most, if not all, of the cakes are baked freshly in-house and are always imaginative, tasty and low fat (at least that what Sarah says when I ask for a chocolate cake). The shop is the heart of the village and though we're not from the village it is always enjoyable to be able to stop and chat to the team, regulars and visitors. Whilst enjoying a lovely walk in the Cotswolds my partner and I came across this tea shop. Feeling a little hungry we decided to pop in for a snack. On entering the building we were not greeted at all by the three staff members who were chatting to a lady at the counter. We asked for a sandwich that was in the display cabinet, which we were handed and as I went to pay for that and some other items we had picked I was told abruptly and rudely that there was only one till! I handed the goods to my partner to pay for and sat at one of the three empty tables. He waited patiently whilst the (local) lady who was still at the counter chatted and talked and chatted and talked to the staff. Ignored and not acknowledged we were about to leave when finally they served us to then be told we could not eat our food at the three empty tables because the sandwich was in fact takeaway only. So after spending almost £7 we had to eat our food in the chilly outside. The customer service here is one of the worst I have ever experienced. The staff were ignorant, rude and verging on hostile. I'm an advocate for small businesses and think its a tragedy when local shops cease to trade anymore through lack of customers so you would think they would be happy with some extra income.

Later that evening while enjoying our meal with the bread my father suddenly went "yuck, look at this" and proceeded to pull, from the slice of onion bread, a very long red hair that had been cooked into the loaf. This is a staggeringly nice little shop - a combination of nicely old-fashioned and really up-to-date - and delightful cafe/tea-room. Inside/outside, it's a treat whatever the weather!

c'est agréable de prendre le thé dehors par beau temps dans un village à l'écart des touristes.Les scones sont de qualité moyenne mais la clotted cream est divine et servie en quantité dans un grand bol.

Sells everything from Mozzarella to Italian Aubergines with candles, bread, meat and tinned goods in between. Also is a superb coffee shop/tea rooms with in and outdoor seating. Not to be missed if you are in the area.

You are made to feel welcome whether you are a shop customer or a tearoom guest. Lovely sitting outside on a good day. Quaint china; yummy home baking (pineapple upside down cake was very good) and the ideal location. The shop has an incredible stock given it's quite small. Loved our visits here last year and did not disappoint this year - would thoroughly recommend it!

Lovely little garden outside the tea room. Lovely place to stop. Nice big pot of tea, fantastic red velvet cake, beautiful small lemon pastries & small chocolate/nut tarts. Really worth the stop.

Such a warm welcome was delivered when we arrived today. We ordered two cream teas and sat in the garden after a walk around Sherborne. The attention to detail was first rate. The scones were still warm and tasted yummy. Plenty of jam and so much cream we could not eat it all. Beautiful China and the plates was even dusted in icing sugar. We were invited to sit back and relax as we ate. The whole experience was first class and the shop is a massive credit to the village. Well done to all the staff.

We have become addicted to this little gem. The delicious food, the fabulous selection of groceries in the deli, and the most welcoming hosts and staff make this place home from home. A real treasure.

This is quite out of the way, and is a genuine treat in the countryside. It is especially nice on a sunny day when you can sit outside and relax. The menu is not extensive, especially for larger meals, and the service can be quite slow. So make sure you're not in a hurry, and enjoy the sunshine. We had a choice of two salads or a platter to share, and went for the two salads. You can also get soup or sandwiches, or some lighter cooked options. Well worth the detour from the A40.

This is a very cosy and eclectic shop in the heart of village.Second visit here after walking in the area.Menu and food quality well above average.Order a pot of tea and that's what you get, not one of those nasty little stainless pots with barely enough for a decent drink.Cakes first class. Meal on previous visit brilliant.Recommended....Value exceptional for area.

We visited this shop on 1st March. It's a great place to go to after a walk round the village and estate. I had the best cheese and onion on toast I've had in a long time - made with lovely brown bread and the local White Valley Mature cheddar. My friend loved her fish finger sandwich too. Highly recommended, with friendly staff and in a great location.

What can I say about this place, other than it's the best tea room and village shop that I have ever been to. We are local to the area and often visit for a cup of tea and a little naughty something. The staff are brilliant and super friendly. All of the food is homemade and locally sourced. The shop always has interesting things to buy ranging from newspapers to wonderful little-known French cheeses.Go for a walk in the Cotswolds and then come here for refreshments.

Visited today for the first time. Very friendly village store that 's also a cafe . Serves delicious home cooked food.Varied menu and all food was exceptional quality. Recommend the bacon sandwiches and cakes. Excellent coffee. Good service. We were made to feel welcome despite our muddy walking clothes. We had a table inside, but seating is available in the garden too. A great little place and ideal for refreshments if you're visiting to see the snowdrops all round this beautiful Cotswold village. The best village store by far.

Excellent restaurant in a very beautiful hotel where I celebrated my birthday with a a small group of friends. Last year I also enjoyed an evening meal here with my partner. Ambience, service and food were perfect. Apéritifs in the lounge, well-spaced tables in the restaurant, excellent, polite and friendly staff, delicious food and lovely surroundings. By far the best restaurant I have been to in years.

Lovely welcome , great service . I definitely recommend the Turkish eggs from the breakfast menu. An unusual dish of yoghurt poached eggs and sourdough toast with a spicy twist , delicious

What a find, a very quintessential English country pub serving local beers as well as a very stocked back shelf and wine cellar. The welcome is warm and very friendly from the staff and locals alike. Not once did we finish our meals and head home, as we started conversations with the locals and fellow guests, that meant for a very social atmosphere. There is a good lunch menu and a very comprehensive evening menu. I promise you will want to come back to try "something else" off the menu, I know we did and we soon realised that we had to pick either starters & main or main & desert due to the larger portions you receive.

We attended a Wedding at Fosse Manor (in their Hyde Barn). The wedding catering was excellent. It is confusing to read the other reviews here as there was no actual restaurant on site that we could see - just the wedding banquet room and adjoining bar. Breakfast however was not good. Pre-cooked under 3 heat lamps and self-service. The tea was very weak even after adding more tea-bags! The breakfast room was styled like a hostel with long trestle tables for lots of guests to sit together, and was extremely noisy. After a night spent in the terrible accommodation here (for which we have written a separate review) we did not enjoy this experience at all. A shame, as the Wedding catering itself was very well done and managed.

A very old fashioned type of tea room. You think you're going into a book shop at first, then go into the main tea room. It all exudes history and quality. Very nice for afternoon tea, the cakes are wonderful and all made on the premises, the brunch was great too. Can't really fault it. Service was quick despite it being very busy. Highly recommended, well worth a visit
