Managed a purchase from a haughty person whose only conversation was to give me the price of my goods. She did, however, manage to keep up a conversation with a colleague on either side of my ' interruption' to her day.

Fantastic refreshment stop for cyclists/walkers. In spring/summer this is a great place to grab a coffee and cake and sit in the sunshine whilst Swallows, Swifts & House Martins whizz around overhead. Very friendly staff and they serve several vegan cake options as well as vegan sausage roll and a vegetable roll. I wish other cafes in this area offered this variety. Only downside is the opening hours are a bit limited... Be warned they shut early on Sundays!

A great stop off after the pub for delicious cakes and coffee. The outdoor seating area in the sunshine felt comfortable and safe.

My wife and I were staying in Bibury and we half way through the Bibury to Coln walk. We visited on Wednesday 16th September which was a lovely, warm sunny day. We sat in the garden and chatted to both the locals and visitors. We have used the Cafe At Coln previously, but can only say it has got better. The thing that strikes you is the friendliness of the people that run both the shop and the cafe, it is the epitome of a community working together. The tea and cakes were served quickly and efficiently by a lovely lady who was justly proud of the cakes that were made by the local community. She was also very proud of the garden area and the fact that they now had a small marquee for inclement weather. Both my wife and I will certainly use the Cafe At Coln again, a very friendly and inspiring place.

It was a pleasant September day, and we were able to sit outside and eat our panini. There is a large garden outside for a pleasant lunch stop. It would not be so good on a wet day as the space inside the shop/cafe is quite limited. The range of food is quite small, and it is mainly panini and sandwiches, with a few pasties etc in a hot cabinet. It is fine for a quick snack, but nothing more substantial.

I was on a walk from Hatherop and remembered this place from when it was the village store and post office. I was delighted to find it open at nearly 12 noon on a Sunday, and bought an ice cream in the shop which they were happy to let me eat at one of the tables in the garden to the side of the shop. The shop shuts at 1 pm on Sunday, and the cafe at 12 noon. It looked fairly busy when I got there, and is on a popular route for cyclists, several of whom were there when I was. The man who served me was very friendly. I didn't use the cafe, but the cakes looked very nice. I was able to buy chocolate at the shop for the rest of my journey. The shop also sells fresh food, such as vegetables, cheese and milk, groceries, pastries and cold drinks. There is also a toilet for customers' use. This is the sort of place that makes my day when I come across it while out walking. I would highly recommend stopping there if you are passing through.

We were out on a marathon walk in the area and discovered The Cafe at Coln - in such a wonderful place. The village is idyllic, and we were impressed that there were toilet facilities and a place to stop and rest in the sunshine. The cafe and shop were busy, which is always a good sign. This place deserves to do well!

Have been here a few times before while working near. Popped in last wednesday lunchtime for a coffee and cake . Coffee is fantastic and the lemon drizzle is out of this world. I was served by a lady i have not seen before. She was very pleasant . I sat down to have my coffee and cake and was shocked by the foul language coming out of her mouth. I am not complaining about the cafe its self but that language from this lady was unacceptable.Such a let down as such a lovely little cafe. You need soap in your mouth

Always a warm welcome here. the staff are so calm, even when 20plus cyclist walk through the door. The sausage rolls are well worth trying, and the coffee is better than most high street brands.

Stopped here a few times on travels along the beautiful Coln Valley. Compared with similar places (e.g. Café at Blockley) which are run by locals this really does need sorting. On my latest visit the two staff, faced with no other customers to distract them, couldn't raise a smile or even a welcome hello when I arrived. The coffee was very good, but the scone less so. Don't think the 'butter' was butter and I had to ask for jam (a tiny plastic container) and a napkin. Other food looked pretty unappetising and pre-purchased. Please, you need to make more effort to greet customers, to ensure they are satisfied, to produce varied and tasty fare and to show an interest. Good loo though, wheelchair accessible.

A local CoOperative: post office, store also selling paninis and coffees which are wonderful to eat on the grass lawn outside, relaxing. I liked that the panini had tasty Cheddar in it, not some bland 'pretend' cheese. The staff were friendly

After walking are dog in the Coln Valley today, we walked into Coln St Aldwyns to find somewhere to have a warming drink and a light bite to eat. Having seen a board at the end of the footpath on the outskirts of the village advertising the cafe, we sought it out . We arrived to find it empty of customers, with the staff clustered at the front desk. As I walked in ahead of my companion and her dog, to check whether the dog was welcome inside, the staff looked away and continued their conversation. Undeterred, I apologised for interrupting, and asked the question, to be dismissed with a surly, 'no', and a resumption of the conversation between them. We walked back down the high street and thoroughly enjoyed the coffee and cake, the warm welcome and the warm fire in The New Inn. Being locals we look forward to returning to The New Inn often whether with or without dog.

A lovely café that has its own section and garden area at the back of the traditional Village Stores - indoors and outdoors seating. Impressed with the coffee and the cakes, all seems high quality. There were also some nice juices available. Really recommended as a café in the country!

A lovely tea shop on the High St. I sat outside the front on the limited pavement seating. The staff were lovely and the food well presented. The pasty was though expensive and there was no wow factor. The ice bun was heavy and sticky. The coffee was delicious. Would return but not spend so much.

We stayed in SotW for a friends wedding locally. It appeared everyone had come upto the Cotswolds for wedding that weekends at the White Hart was our 5th attempt at finding a spot for dinner - turns out 5th time lucky it was! We had lovely service throughout dinner, fantastic food in a really lovely dining room. Would strongly recommend, nice selection of drinks and main meals, could well be a lovely spot for dinner for two or small groups as well visiting the area.

Fresh food, great service, child friendly too, what more could you want from a restaurant serving Sunday Lunch. We've just come back from Sunday Lunch at Roots + Seeds in Cirencester. Crispy beer batter on the fish, really chunky chips (not fries) silky smooth mushy peas pretty much a perfect combination. The young front of house team have been well trained to make everyone feel welcome too.

The service was terrible…. a bunch of young girls who appeared to want to be elsewhere. We ordered tea and scones. We drank the tea and still no scones. When we asked about them we were rudely told “it’s coming” and she made no effort to check on them. They came 5 minutes later. We could see other people being treated as an inconvenience and being unhappy. Disappointing in a lovely village where everyone else is so friendly.
