The best restaurants serving Default food in St Mewan Cornwall, Isles of Scilly South West

Batter and chips well overcooked. Cod was mediocre - well overpriced! Nothing special - don't sit in it's not worth the price hike. Not for us. Side note - not being in the area the staff failed to mention the new AI camera that picks up phone use and seatlbelts that's live as you pull out of their road!

Great bar. Cosy inside in winter, great beer garden for the summer.

We had burgers that were really tasty and a good portion size. Chips were great. Cheesy garlic bread was super cheesy. Rattler and Thatchers on tap was a cider delight. Staff were nice too.

Mains were good, but the pudding was well overdone. It should have been spotted in the kitchen and we should have returned it when served. Beers and one of the ciders are OK, although nothing especially memorable. That's not meant as a criticism - I'm sure the publican knows their regular customers' (not people like me!) preferences very well. Service was friendly and welcoming. This is a nice pub in rural circumstances and I'm sure I'll return if I'm again in the area.

Visited this quaint place whilst staying in Newquay, served by very polite well mannered servers, the vegetables were fresh the meat cooked to perfection and the portion sizes were large at reasonable prices, so pleased on this find will certainly visit again.

Had the special of crispy chicken with sweet potato mash and veg. The food itself was very tasty but the portion size was very small and was the size of a starter not a main meal, chicken was ok but the mash was 1 tablespoon portion (at first I thought it had been missed off the plate) there were about 10 peas and miniscule tender stem broccoli portion as decoration. We didn't bother staying for desserts or coffees but went home to have something else to eat.

We sat with our coats on it was so cold inside. We had a 15 minute wait before staff realised we were there 2 couples in the restaurant. We had popadoms with only a 3 tray pickle which was poor. We had a mediocre main meal. The Naan garlic and coriander great. Rice was ok. We won’t be back.

We went on Pancake day ! We went with friends , we were greeted warmly and there was a really great feel / atmosphere to the place . It was warm with a fire lit too . I had the garlic prawns to start and they were spot on . I chose the chicken red Thai curry , it was superb, the chicken was so tender .I went with the small and I’m glad I did as the portions are very generous and the prices so reasonable. My husband had the liver , he went for the standard size and oh my goodness it was huge ! He managed to eat every mouthful though and said it was the best liver bacon and onions he had ever had , his mash was perfect too . He and our friends finished the meal off with pancakes , they said they were perfectly cooked . From the moment we entered here till we left the hospitality was perfect , couldn’t fault a thing , well worth a visit and we shall return .

Waited 25 minutes for drinks and 35 minutes for food. Food was only Rarebit. Told the waitress that after such a long wait that food was cold! She was not particularly concerned. Won’t be eating there again.

As we are staying on Bosinver Farm with family, I booked Polgooth Inn after I read the reviews, and it didn't disappoint. All staff are a credit to the management, as nothing was too much trouble, there were 5 of us, 1 toddler, 1 in a wheelchair and 2 dogs, the food and service were Excellent, so much so, I have just booked for us to have breakfast in a few days, which we are looking forward to.

I thought customer facing staff are taught how to give a professional service, she definitely didn't. I will not allow a teen to look me up and down, horrible as we are paying their wages.

Ordered food for delivery, told lady twice to deliver at 7pm, delivered at 5.45pm, salt and pepper squid at coating very little squid, King prawn chop suey all sauce 4 prawns. Stated no water chestnut, guess what their there
