Really nice but clicky at weekends with locals

Myself, My Husband and our three children came to The Hewas Inn this evening for dinner and I just had to leave a review. The staff were so lovely, friendly and helpful. We were approached at our table by who we think was the owner, who was ever so friendly and even noticed my husbands drink was empty so asked if he wanted another. Now the food, was amazing! We cannot fault a single bit of it. Our son told the lady to tell the chef it was a 100/100! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Sadly we live about 5 and a half hours away but next time we come to Cornwall we will definitely make sure to visit again. Thank you to all the staff for such a warm, welcoming and delicious dinner. We 100% recommend. Very happy. Charlotte & Dan Jones.

Had a great lunch here after our walk one Friday, so found another walk close by the following week so we could lunch there again. Some pubs are unhappy or unwilling to accommodate groups but we had a warm welcome from all the staff. We preordered which is not a problem and understandable out of season. Food arrived in rapid succession so we could all eat together. Good selection, reasonable prices and very generous portions. Will be looking for walks in the area again!

Lovely atmosphere great selection of beers and wine

This truly is my favourite Cornish pub From the moment you walk thru the door to the moment you leave it’s a piece of Cornish heaven Nothing is too much trouble for the amazing team from the owners to the bar and waiting staff to the chef The atmosphere is welcoming the drink selection phenomenal and the food is fantastic I HAVE NEVER HAD A BAD MEAL THERE and I’ve had many when we visit Cornwall there is only one place to go They are so welcoming of our dogs too Thank you to Carl and Anna you have a great team and run a wonderful pub and your pies and curries are stunning

I am currently on holiday in Cornwall with my family (5 in total) and have been looking for some nice places to eat out. We found the Hewas Inn on a google search, and we are so glad we did. We had a fantastic evening, the food was excellent, and we were made to feel very welcome by everyone, locals, and staff. I can't recommend the Hewas Inn, enough. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed. Great job 👏

Lovely traditional pub, with fantastic food and very friendly service. Made to feel really welcome. Evening topped off by a brilliant male voice choir practising in the bar. Thoroughly recommended.

Decided to pop in here for a meal tonight and was not disappointed. Nice friendly atmosphere, friendly staff and excellent food. All 3 courses I had were fantastic. The food was also cooked as requested (my wife loves well done chips which they did no problems at all) which just shows great customer service👌 Very impressed with this local pub and it's food, we would definitely recommend to anyone 👍

Stopped here for an evening meal after a day at the Eden Project. Nice pub, good food and very friendly service. Menu choice was good with several 'Specials' on the board. Would visit again.

We booked here to eat on our recent holiday to Cornwall. We booked based on the good reviews and it didn’t disappoint! We felt welcomed from the moment we turned up, the staff were all very friendly and polite and The food was amazing! It was enjoyed by everyone. 3 of us had the burger stack and they ate every bit of it. One of the best burgers they have had apparently. 2 of us ordered the special seabass. This was delicious! We would definitely return if we ever visited this area of Cornwall again. You won’t be dissapointed! Plenty of choice on the menu and good portion sizes.

Fantastic English Inn. Cozy dining in an authentic setting with super friendly and helpful service. Something for everyone. From meat to fish and even vegetarian options. Wide range of local and international beers. Food was nice and fresh.

I spent 6 hours in hospital after eating chicken from your pub. I hadn't eaten anything else until my lunch but within a few hours I was so ill. The pain was horrific and I ended up at Treliske hospital. It was our first time to your pub but absolutely the last time! I have honestly never been so poorly in all my life. I do not recommend eating here unless you would like to visit tye lovely staff of our local hospital.

Food OK, service a bit slow but they were busy.

Went for a Sunday Lunch with a large Party to Celebrate my Dads 80th Bday , as he grew up on the farm down the road. The Pub has been done up excellent whilst retaining the village vibe. Food, Drinks and service staff really spot on , nice and efficient.

Very kindly prepared my meal to go when I felt unwell. Delicious fish and chips.

Booked in for Sunday lunch with family down from up country. Between us we had a variety of the meats on offer and both size plates (we were 4 adults and 2 children). All of the meats were flavoursome and came with excellent home made yorkshires. 2 large serving plates with ample portions of a variety of veg, obviously fresh and prepared on the premises. Good range of deserts available. Waitress was friendly and and attentive, but not overbearing. Was being used by locals and visitors alike. Nice pub.

We visited as a family, were greeted and shown to our table. The pub was immaculate and the staff were friendly and efficient. I had the Gammon which was lovely, others has the Ribeye, homemade pie and lasagne. All superb and great value. Thank you, highly recommended.

Lovely little pub in the heart of Sticker, near to St. Austell, Cornwall. Super friendly staff member behind the bar, helpful, polite, and courteous. Great Pale Ale, Carlesberg and San Miguel on draft plus a good selection of other draft lagers and ales. Well worth a visit if passing!!

Sadly not what we expected, my husband had a steak and stated that the mushrooms were not cooked. I had the fish and it was not as fresh as I would have prefered and it was cold.

Dropped in for a spot of lunch with my family and we all enjoyed our time here. We’ll definitely come back.

Went to this lovely pub for Sunday lunch two weeks in a row First Sunday, they had run out of lamb , so went for chicken 7 tiny pieces of chicken , following week went back good amount of meat but same amount of vegetables if 2 or 3 people have Sunday lunch

I was really pleased since we entered till we left from there. Staff is very nice and attentive, and the food was great. It was a great evening out. Highly recommended.

Lovely food and drink, delightful owners and very friendly locals. Dog friendly also which is always a plus.

Lovely pub, the food was pretty good, we have a venison burger and a lasagna. You can find lots of different drinks. The only thing that we didn’t like was the chicken wings, not crispy at all.

Absolutely brilliant. Popped in on the off chance for lunch. Not busy, so no problem. Staff friendly and attentive. Husband and I shared garlic mushrooms, best we've ever had. We then both had Sea Bass, again top notch. Finished off with Orange and Lemon cheescake for hubby and roulade for me, excellent. We both noted how clean everything was. Well done all.

This pub is terrible for the village of Sticker - really lowers the tone - locals coming out of the pub late at night, screaming and shouting in the car park, peeing in the street, revving their engines, roaring up and down the main street, over the speed limit, beeping their horns. It is disruptive for anyone living in the main street and dangerous for anyone walking or driving through the village.

It was ok, went as a party of 7 (3 kids, 4 adults), pretty standard pub fair, Cajun chicken pasta wasn’t great but the steak was ok.

Food very bland, we could have made the same food and had better wine for 1/4 of the price at home.

Visited the Hewas for family of 13, food was served hot, service was great very friendly staff. Would definitely visit and recommend. Thank you for a great evening . Kathy

We had an excellent meal. I had the venison burger and chips, which was delicious. The staff were exceptional and gave a local community feeling towards us.

We are on holiday down here at the moment and was looking to eat out. What a really lovely place. Cracking food and staff, recommend coming here for a meal.

Popped in for a Sunday roast, as so busy, had to get there for 12.15, the roast was lovely, beer good, staff friendly, nice little local pub!

Wundervolle Überraschung dieser Inn. Parkplätze vorhanden, im Inneren erwartet einen ein angenehmes Ambiente. Wohlfühlen war angesagt unter Einheimischen. Wir mussten etwa 45 Minuten auf das Essen warten und es hat sich gelohnt. Frisch zubereitet, gut gewürzt, knackiger Salat, gute Chips. Preiswürdig. Für mich ein echter Tipp, der auch einen kleinen Umweg rechtfertigt.

Visited twice in our week long holiday, cannot fault the service or meals. Great selection of local ales.

We arrived 10 minutes before serving closed but were greeted with a friendly smile and a menu. Our springer spaniel was welcome too. The choice of food and the specials covered a variety of preferences and there were options for smaller portions on some dishes which was perfect for me who frequently has to leave the food I can’t finish. The steak and ale pie with chips was good (my husband said) and my butternut squash ravioli and salad (as a starter portion- off the ‘specials’ board) was absolutely delicious and plentiful.

Arrivati, tipico pub , peccato per l'accoglienza da parte della clientela locale, squadrati dall' alto in basso per via dell'accento, nonostante almeno 4 tavoli liberi ma la prenotazione all'improvviso risulta obbligatorio, alcuni arrivano poco dopo di noi e pur non avendo prenotazione trovano comunque un tavolo... Che dire , esperienza spiacevole usi, costumi e locations possono essere condivisi.

Food was amazing. Struggled to finish it as large portions. Friendly staff. Look forward to returning.

First visit back since new owners as we’ve not been in the area for a while. Great food and service. Still have the old favourites Hewas chicken and steak and ale pie on the menu so very happy It’s was a very busy Saturday night so a bit of a wait might be expected. Will be back when in the area again.

Pub and staff lovely, Sunday roast? Sorry but was tastless. Coliflour chesse was not made together, I think the cheese was just poured over. Meal was not hot, only heat came from gravy inside the yorkshire pudding.

Very friendly people, staff excellent,the food although pretty basic very enjoyable,done us a take away which absolutely fitted the bill,the staff couldn't of been more accommodating wrapping in tin foil,very hot and tasty,returning dishes next day,excellent 👍

Lovely friendly staff with quick service and good food.

The staff was really friendly and welcoming. Went for a lunch time meal with doggys. Food was just what you expect from pubs. It was very filling and really big portions! Car parks a little tight and when we left to go back to the car another had parked so close we couldn't get it one side. Not the pubs fault though.

We found this pub on a recent visit to St.Austell. Absolutely brilliant, what a country pub should be. The beer was well kept, the food was excellent and a friendly atmosphere. Definitely recommend.

Had the Sunday roast here and it’s spot on, great to have choice on the size of the portion so ended up having desert afterwards too. This is a gem of a pub run by super staff with a great selection of drinks too and is doggy friendly, Why bother going anywhere else? Well done to all the staff and the owner who’s normally behind the bar and is chatty and very welcoming. We shall be back again and we’ve never had a bad experience here

Was a lovely Place. We were only there for a quick lunch. I would imagine it would be a lovely place for an evening.

Lots of options on the menu, including vegetarian/ vegan ones. Nice and clean and cosy inside with 'proper old pub' vibes. Only one thing I'd say is the chips could do with being cooked a bit longer, a bit too pale and squishy for our liking. The homemade pie was yummy though 👍Nice bar with local ciders and beers. Dog friendly.

Fabulous pub. Stopped off on New Year's Eve for a quick lunch. Stayed longer and ate more than intended, as it was such a lovely place. Relaxed, friendly service. Good quality, honest pub food. Will definitely be back.

Awesome visit, just by chance, went in to wait for my Car to be Winter checked at the local garage. Was looked after by Landlord and Landlady. Excellent.

Weve had 2 meals this week in the Hewas Inn and they were both delicious and large portions .The staff are lovely and really helpfull.My husband has mobility problems due to a stroke and cardiac arrest they went out of there way to accomodate him .So thankyou ladies so much

Beautifully cooked fish. Great menu for 9 of us including vegetarian and pescatarian. Service was friendly and they were excellent with allergies in finding out and helping. Going back next week !

Down in Cornwall on holiday just happened to call in a beer .and asked if they did meals I was told they did ,had a good meal with all the family. also good staff & pleasant atmosphere Definitely Recommend

Great dog friendly restaurant. Food fantastic, staff a bit stretched but very efficient. Visited here twice while on holiday nearby, Sunday lunch and midweek evening, both busy so probably best to book, although they are very accommodating.
