Buraans in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

This was me and my friends first visit to this great Indian restaurant and certainly won't be the last. Great friendly service, lovely decor and most Importantly, amazing food. Will be back soon !!

Whilst the jalfezi used to be the best jalfrezi I had ever tasted, so fresh and vibrant unfortunately since the kitchen closed for "refurbishment" about 18 months ago it wasn't the same. I suspect that it either changed hands or most certainly the chef changed. Whilst it was certainly not the same dish it was still a pretty good example. Unfortunately recently the jalfrezi has changed again to what can only now be described as a run of the mill dish that you get at any takeaway though my wife says the vegetarian dish she has is better than it used to be as there are more veg in it. I know nowhere stays the same for ever but the flavours used to taste so fresh that you could taste the difference but now I'm sad to say that in my opinion the food is getting blander and not a patch on the flavour sensation it used to be. Such a shame.

Ordered takeaway for 8 people. Absolutely phenomenal meal at a great value price. Pickle tray was a whole carrier bag full of assorted pickles. I had the Lamb Rogan josh, full of lean, tender meat that fell apart as I ate it, it must've been cooked for hours. Keema Nan was the best I've ever had, stuffed with a good 1/4 inch of meat, almost a sandwich in itself. Everybody ate their fill and there was lots of leftovers for later on or the following day. £110 including tip for 8!! Fantastic!! This restaurant never disappoints.

I never leave reviews for restaurants that I visit, but I’m making an exception for Buraans as last night I had one of the nicest curries I’ve ever eaten. I had the achari ghost, which was a hot and sour lamb dish and it was truly delicious. The lamb was succulent and fell apart and the sauce was the perfect mix of heat and flavour. The rest of our meal was just as good. The service was excellent, attentive and friendly. I found the prices very reasonable considering the quality of the food. This is my new favourite Indian restaurant.

If you're looking to be show to your table by someone in traditional dress in opulent surroundings, don't bother going to Buraans. If you want a personal service and superb authentic food, this is the place for you. We had two main courses, one pilau rice, one garlic naan, a pint of lager and a medium size glass of wine for just over £40. I had the Punjabi Murgh, the quality of the food was comparable to the more upmarket Indian restaurants in Nottingham city centre. It was packed with flavour, the portion size was large, hot but not hot enough to detract from the other flavours. My partner had the butter chicken, which was a bit on the sweet side. The server asked what we thought of the food and we told her. Within a minute, the chef came out and told us he makes the dish sweet for English tastes. He asked her to wait a few minutes, whisked away the food and returned with a freshly cooked dish, and told her this is how Indians like the dish cooked, this time it was perfect. I really can't fault the experience, great service and well made bespoke food. The best Indian cuisine we've ever had in Nottingham for the price. It's now our favourite Indian restaurant. Although we didn't try it, they also cook a merger menu of Indian/Chinese food.

I collected an order to takeaway. The Buraans Special Prawn was honestly the best prawn curry I've had... and i've dined in many Indian restaurants. Amazing quality prawns and the sauce was full of flavour with the right amount of spice. The other dishes in the order were equally as good. Food was hot and fresh and the staff are so polite, friendly and welcoming. It's not my first time ordering from here and definitely won't be my last.

Iv been 5 times and it's always bang on. Service and food excellent. Can't fault it. Will come again.

The food here is exceptional. Staff cant do enough for you. Would recommend this 100% and the takeaways are just as good!! Will definitely be back!

Had a great meal here. The waitress was very friendly and attentive, the food was absolutely fantastic & very reasonably priced. Highly recommended & will definitely visit again in future.

First time here since reopening and had an excellent evening. Very friendly and attentive staff but the main accolade goes to the food which was exquisite in taste and presentation. We will be back to try everything on the menu. Highly recommended for service, quality and price.

Friends recommended this place so we gave the takeaway a try tonight and we were not disappointed. The food is delicious, every dish was lush. Best chaat bombs I have had by a country mile. We will be back.

We went with friends from the States, we had a great time, amazing food and service, would definitely recommend for curry lovers.

Visited this restaurant twice before and had a great experience both times. Visited tonight and was quite the opposite. I ordered a veg madras and my friend ordered a veg masala. I got given the veg masala being told it was the madras. This contained dairy which I am allergic to. I was offered no apology for this mistake. Then, the madras was made watery with coconut milk, which madras usually is Tomato based, the waitress refused to changed this. The tikka masala tasted like Heinz tomato soup. There was no apology or acknowledgment for the mistakes. I will not be visiting here again.

Great place to eat . The service was good. The waitress explained what was in the meals we asked about. Nice and quick service with excellent quality food. This is the first time we have eaten here and not the last. Many thanks

Was planning a City centre meal but changed plans and decided to try this place which we'd seen many FB posts and photos about all showed well presented looking food and reasonable prices. We were very pleasantly surprised to enjoy very well presented flavourful dishes starters of chicken tikka and prawn puri was full of flavour juicy and professionally presented nothing like the run of the mill high st curry house and mains of tiger prawns and lamb Rogan was same good quality moist deep flavours and the rice and nan bread was light clean flavour and all served with a smile. We may have found our new "local go to" Indian restaurant as this was by far one of the best Indian meals we've had for months!!

9 family members met for dinner tonight at this Indian restaurant it was both my nieces and my birthday meal we met at 7.20pm and still no meal at 8.30 pm we asked when it would be ready and was told 10mins we waited 20 mins later we asked another waitress who said 20 mins by 9.30pm still no meals we were told still not ready so we all left as couldn’t say when it was coming. There was only 2 waitresses and the were too busy answering phones for takeaway so I believe they were priotising takeaway over eat in restaurant so no birthday cake either for either of us as by then it was too late to go elsewhere truly spoilt both our evening won’t be going again also not a lot on menu

Lovely food, friendly staff and a nice atmosphere. Easy to book in the first place, online. Would certainly recommend to others and visit again.

Buraans used to be Everest Lounge. The food is of an excellent quality and as vegetarians we think the choice is good. The Baigan Masala had a large quantity of aubergine and tasted lovely. I can highly recommend them for a great service. A polite lady telephoned me to prior warn that the food would be 15 minutes late and even though it was, the food was still hot.

Superb food, great depth of flavour and perfect spice. Chewy bhajis, juicy chicken wings and an awesome jalfrezi. Our new favourite!
