Friendly staff. Great service. Delicious food. Good price.

Wish we had taken photos of the food. Best fish and chips we have had in a long, long time. Wish you were our local, but we are here on holiday. We travelled about 10 minutes with ours, and the food was still hot and the fish still crispy. The chips were amazing, not greasy, and proper nicely cut and cooked chips. Portions were very good too, and the service was very friendly. Nice chip shop style currys sauce. Couldn't fault one thing.

Great attention to detail, service, not greasy and fantastic gluten free options. Stayed in Fowey but this was well worth the short drive

Was desperate for some gluten free fish and chips before we departed Cornwall, after searching high and low we found this place, just 10 mins from our hotel! As vegetarians we obviously didn’t have the fish, but we had a brilliant portion of gluten free chips, mushy peas and gluten free pineapple fritters (would have had pea ones, but they’d ran out!) they even had GF vinegar 😍 we drove the chips down to Carlyon Bay and scoffed them whilst looking at the sea view 🥰

Friendly service, decent size portions. Everything is fresh, the cod is fantastic. There isn't a thing on the menu that isn't delicious.

This chip shop is far by the best in South Cornwall,food is well cooked and so tasty, and the cafe sit down is a must fish,chips,mushy peas bread and butter and a cup of tea, what is not to like,the staff are so good and helpfull go out of the way to help you,if you do go their pea fritter is a must try, however available at the weekend.

Great food and service, but please go back to using fresh chicken fillets for chicken burgers, not the shop flat ones.

Placed the order online then rang up to confirm wasn't a dodgy order as our home address is Derby, but holidaying in Carlyon Bay. Great customer service and the gluten free fish and chips are superb 10 out of 10. Best we've ever had.

These were great fish and chips cooked to perfection. My one reservation was the rather small portion of cod I got served. Maybe I was unlucky. The fish was cooked nicely without skin or bones. The medium chips was a generous portion.

Honestly the best Fish and Chips around St Austell! The fish is always cooked fresh and the chips are both crispy and fluffy. The staff are very friendly and venue easily accessible.

It was great! I had gluten free cod, chips and mushy peas, they reassured me it was safe and in a separate frier, I felt fine afterwards and I’m very sensitive to gluten as a coeliac.

Easy to order over phone. Had 2 cod and chips. Was ready when I got there. Fish was lovely and so where chips. Staff friendly. Will be going back Just revisited 20.07.23. Ordered on phone, where ready on collection. Unfortunately got back to car and clutch had gone. While I was waiting for the RAC which let me down. The staff asked if I was OK, the manager let me use the toilet and offered me a drink. What lovely food and lovery people. Many Thanks

We placed a large order tonight including gluten free and steamed fish. All of it was perfect. 5 separate orders for 9 people all coordinated very well and still lovely and hot when we got it home. Highly recommend.

The food is amazing but the staff keep us coming back time and time again! Remembering a customers name and preferences as well as making a special effort to interact with our children is priceless. Yesterday my food was brought out to my car before I’d even pulled up! Keep up the fantastic atmosphere Wagon Wheel you ladies are amazing.

Forget the so-called 'celbrity chefs' chippies, this place beats them hands down! First class skinless cod and chips, nice crispy batter, not soggy like some places really nice chips, very generous portions and at a decent cost.

Not the best as I was told. Unfortunately, dogs aren't allowed inside. I had to get atake out order.

We are on our honeymoon in Cornwall and have been trying to find a good chippy. We tried here and it is the best chippy we’ve been to in a long time! The food is all cooked fresh to order and is lovely! The staff are very friendly too, I would definitely recommend coming here!

Friendly local restaurant managing with a lovely mom and daughter. Fresh and healthy foods. I emphasise to head over there if you are in the area. Consider that it will close on 20:30.

We popped in and were lucky enough to be able to be squeezed on a table in as very busy and customers having takeaways non stop. The meals came out very quickly with chips not too greasy, fish well cooked and reasonable portions. We would recommend so thumbs up from us

Whilst in St Austell and Gluten intolerance is normally the reason for not eating Fish and Chips... We found a gold mine! Food cooked to order FRESH!! Staff were very efficient and the food was amazing. Will be sure to head back when in the area

I went out of my way to call in and try the wagon wheel fish and chip shop based on the reviews. I'm pleased to say the reviews are well deserved! I received a lovely welcome upon arrival and chose a spot in their restaurant area. My order was taken promptly and was freshly cooked. The restaurant was quiet but there was a steady flow of customers coming in for take away, all of which were dealt with in a friendly professional manner. I noted that several customers were called by name. A nice touch for regular customers! I was impressed by the cleanliness of the restaurant area and was pleased to see that when the plates were cleaned away from another table it was properly cleaned as well. The food came out in a timely fashion and was well cooked and nicely presented. I had a pot of earl grey tea for a drink. There is a really nice vibe here, marry that with the good food, cleanliness and lovely staff it is a pleasure to come here. The wagon wheel fish and chip shop certainly gets my recommendation.

First time we have been to visit. Will certainly be back when we visit Cornwall next. The best fish and chips we've had in Cornwall.

Update May 22. The quality of the cooking still can't be faulted!!! A price increase and now the portion control has gone off the scale and not had a nice flaky HEAD end in ages so now cannot justify 5 stars you do not get a great portion of chips even if you ask for Large so not worth it now only very special treat, To OWNER "BEN"? u need to look at other shops around portion sizes, previously I said Always very good quality fish and chips excellent CRISPY chips so mega if you HATE soggy chips. can be a tad tight with the fish portion though.

Staying in the area and found this place when searching for a chippy to eat in. What a find. Had the set dinner of cod and chips with mushy peas and bread and butter. The food was piping hot, the fish batter was light and crispy and the chips fluffy. No grease on anything. Well worth the visit!

My wife and I have just had the best bit of fried fish we have ever tasted. It was the Wagon Wheels gluten free battered haddock. The fish was so fresh and the batter was so crisp and perfectly seasoned. Even if you do not have to be gluten free try it …you will not be disappointed Thank you wagon wheel staff for taking the telephone order efficiently and friendly and than having it ready at the allotted time. THIS REALLY WAS FISH CHIPS AT ITS BEST. Nb do not spoil the crispness with vinegar, although my home made tartare sauce complemented the fish

Gluten free chips were really nice and not greasy as most chip shop chips I’ve had tend to be.

The fish was absolutely beautiful as was the curry sauce. Service was top notch and served with a smile.

does what it says on the tin, perfectly, delish food with great prices and massive portions. Parking is a little bit of an issue but can be forgiven for such yummy chips on the way home.

Went last week whilst on holiday in Cornwall, the cod was outstanding & really tasty, the best I have had for several years and the portions of chips were VERY generous and tasty too, the staff are very friendly and helpful. Definately recommend this shop fish & chip shop, you won't be disappointed.

Staying at hut and hound locally....got fish, chips, onion rings and curry sauce as a treat for us and Bigfoot sausages for our dogs. The curry sauce was one of the nicest I have had in a long time

Just visited this chippy with the family for a quick portion of chips before our day out. What an absolute scandal - £32.30 for 5 portions of chips and 4 cans of pop. They are charging £2.20 for a can of pop - when the van itself says 65p on it!! Daylight robbery. Food was ok - chips are chips at the end of the day - but I’m afraid it’s a zero for value for money. Stop ripping off your customers. We won’t be returning.

Still good quality and choice available. Came in with less than half hour to go and asking for a haddock was no issue. They even on this occasion delivered to car. Friendly staff.

Just had a lovely fish and chip meal here, the food was excellent. We ate in,a family of 4 ( 2 children 10 and 4). And we had 2 x adult cod bites ,1x cod and chips and a child's cod bites and drinks. Voted best meal of the week for all of us. Definitely worth a visit , we certainly will be returning next time we are down. The mushy peas , curry sauce and home

I must apologize to The Wagon Wheel.... I did give a 3 star rating last week...but was very much distracted at the time and meant to get back to finish the review...so thank you for answering my review and reminding me. I have changed ...quite rightly...my rating to a deserved 5 star....The meal we had was the usual high quality....we always enjoy eating in or taking away. The staff are always so polite and helpful and accommodate all our requirements. We also find everything so clean....Thank you again for reminding me to give a much deserved higher rating.

Only complaint would be that the portions (although very tasty) were enormous. Service with a smile will be back and adjust our order as hate leaving food but seriously could not manage it all,

Needed tea and consulted google. Gave us a few choices but picked this one because the did battered pineapple. Food was excellent and freshly cooked. Prices very reasonable for the quality and portion sizes you got. Worth every one of the five stars we have given it!
