All I can say is 100% all round. Staff were fantastic , food was delicious with good portion sizes and good value for money Nothing stood out in particular as it all did!

Came here for a table for9 Birthday celebration, the staff were excellent, super friendly and welcoming! The menu very goo and well priced , the steaks were delicious, we all had an excellent meal! Would recommend and will be back

Another visit to the best value, choice of menu, friendly restaurant in St. Austell, the fact that they do a good selection of small portions is perfect for us, can’t manage huge portions, and definitely hate to waste good food. My fish and chips were perfect, light crispy batter with lovely home made chips and tar tar sauce, hubby and friend had the home made fish pie, which was delicious and plenty of fish in lovely sauce and beautiful fluffy potatoes on top. Won’t be long before we’re back, worth the extra wait, as we were informed on entering, as they had large private party in other room. 🥂

Seriously wonderful place for lunch. I live in the village of Trewoon but have only been here a handful of times. Today we went to lunch with visiting family. The food was absolutely superb, three of us had cod and chips, one had lasagne and the fifth person had a Thai prawn curry. The chips are outstanding. The rest of the food was just brilliant. The service cannot be improved, friendly, helpful, smiley, not in the least annoying and asked if it was everything it was at every visit to the table. Prices are decent for the quality of the food and the portion sizes. Highly recommended in every single way …. Oh and there is plenty of parking.

Excellent staff could not fault any of them they were all so polite and the chef must be amazing because we have never tasted such food so delicious and well presented portions were amazing I mean this we have never been some where and all of us where so took back with the food would definitely recommend and will be back again that's for sure .

One of the best Sunday Roasts we've had. My wife and I had the roast beef with all the trimmings. It was served piping hot, with a large Yorkshire pudding and extra gravy. The staff were very friendly and took care in serving the food. Washed down with a cold pint of Rattler. We didn't book, but they managed to get us a table, so booking is advisable. We'll definitely be back.

Thrr we fix I’d lovely although they can’t seat you at correct table and ask you to move as if your error. You are on a limited time and they basically rush your food and ensure you have had plates etc cleared way before your time is up. Didn’t offer dessert . Not at all child friendly offer food but what is child supposed to eat it with . Staff were confused and as such came across as rude.

We waited for one hour twenty minutes for our food obviously over booked and kitchen could not cope with all the orders the whole experience was horrendous

Visited with family in Jan 2024. Positives: Upon arrival we were welcomed by the staff, and the young lad who served us was polite and friendly. The food was good and the portions were a really good size. Negatives. The service was slow for deserts and the drinks order had to be chased up. We had young children and the attitude from the chef regarding the children being in the pub was awful and confrontational. He was unnecessarily rude with poor customer service skills which ruined the evening. The young staff were doing their best. Conclusion. The attitude and appealing behaviour from the chef means I have only given this review only one star which is a shame because tge food was good. I will not be bringing the family to this pub again.

Just your average pub food nothing special. Chef gave alot of attitude to one member of the group with the kids not sitting in their seats. It's advertised as a family pub and we booked for 5.30. We Didn't end up leaving until 9 with the only delays being on his part. As anyone with young kids would understand its a pretty demanding task to keep them sat still for that amount of time. Maybe If he organised him self a bit better he wouldn't be struggling to cope with a quiet resturant. I'm pretty appalled by the customer service as when I rang up to question the problem I was just hung up on. We won't bother returning and if anyone's looking for some decent pub food check out victoria Inn roche! Great staff and outstanding food.

We hadn't been here before, we were both very pleasantly surprised how delicious our roast Turkey and roast beef was. All the staff were excellent and very abliging. We will definitely try and get back soon .Highly recommended.

We live near the White Pyramid and as usual, great food. The roast was so nice. The young man who served us was so polite and attentive. We have been a few times, will be going a lot more. Always great food. Great atmosphere and gery clean.

We were recommended to try this by our Airbnb hosts and I am so glad they did. On arrival without a booking we were greeted and shown into the bar area restaurant by Callum who explained that there were a couple of dishes unavailable and took our drinks order which was promptly delivered. I am a very indecisive person when presented with a menu with several options that I would ideally choose on any given occasion. After a little deliberation 2 starters and 2 mains were ordered to arrive together and promptly. It was at this moment that I realised my gluttony may have got the better of me. We ordered the halloumi bites and the belly pork bites along with the stack burger which was immense in size and taste and also the 6oz gammon which was reported as excellent as well. Overall a fantastic evening in pleasant surroundings and with great service from the staff.

Had Sunday roast arriving at 12pm thinking would be fresh and hot. Was beef I think but obviously been sliced and boiled to death to reheat, so tasteless, roasties dry and tasteless, veg warm and gravy like water. Very disappointed and would rather gone to Red Lion St Columb Major.

My family and I came for a meal tonight. Once we were shown to our table we ordered our food. We were all hungry and couldn’t wait for our meal, but an hour went passed and still no sign of our food. We finally received our meals about an hour and a half later... The food was lovely, just a shame about such the long wait. We ordered dessert and 3 out of 4 came, but we were missing 1. We just thought they had forgotten so we didn’t bother reminding them as it was getting late. Once the desserts were finished the 4th one turned up.. Needless to say, it wasn’t wanted. I’m am gutted that I had an awful experience after hearing so much good reviews.

My husband and i often go to the white pyramid for lunch. Since the lock down the white pyramid has had a bit of a face lift. This has brightened the place up and given it a warm homely feel. Food is decent,good price and a fair choice. White pyramid is a free house and has a good choice of beers and spirits. There is a large dining room that caters for functions, with a large bar area with several tables. Personally i prefer the bar area. Good covid-19 safety awareness, and space between tables.

This happened to be my very first visit to the White Pyramid restaurant even though we are relatively local, but I have to say we we're a bit disappointed. My partner had hunters chicken, but he said it was dry and lacked barbecue e sauce. Although my steak was nice the chips were over cooked and onion rings were tasteless. Plus the atmosphere was more like a social club just converted into a restaurant in a rush, it lacked that cosy feeling you need for dining and felt rough and ready. That said the service was quick and friendly so it has the potential to be better. Just hope someone from authority reads this and we might go back. But we won't be rushing back there at the moment.

Had a date night here with my husband whilst on holiday, all covid safety measures were in place, the staff were all friendly, professional and informative about the covid procedures, which enabled us to have a relaxing meal. Our main meals were good portions, my husband had the stacked burger and I had the prawn salad. I regret to say my eyes were bigger than my stomach as I also ordered a side of chips but there wasn't a chance of me eating even half of them as my salad was huge and had so many prawns on it that I didn't have room for chips. This was a lovely place to go for a meal and would definitely go again when we're next in the area, Thank you to all the staff at The White Pyramid.

There was eight people in our party and as we had 2 children with us we had a table in the restaurant. The youngest had a meal from the children s menu and the rest of us chose a meal from the the early bird menu. We all chose different chicken dishes, some of us had black and blue chicken and some had pyramid chicken. The service was very good and the chicken very well cooked. A very enjoyable meal. We eat at the White Pyramid on a regular basis. Always good value with a varied menu and friendly efficient staff.

My parents booked this, saying that they do nice meals here. We came for a Sunday Roast. Ordered the lamb but it looked dry and anemic, the roast potatoes were awful and tasted funny. We had desert which was average. I have had a better roast at Toby Carvery (which I will never go back too). The Roast is £9.99, to be honest I am sure you can find better nearby for the same price. The venue is like a working man's club.

Visited today with old people, an 18 month old and 2 vegans. The menu had something for everyone and the staff were friendly and efficient. Lovely food.

Hands down my favourite restaurant around. I would 100% recommend the black and blue burger and the chickpea curry (my favourite). The Rocky horror dessert is heavenly too. Am yet to make my way through their HUGE menu, bearing in mind I’ve been visiting here weekly for the last 3 years!! The staff are always amazing and so helpful in letting us know about what is available for people with intolerances or allergies, such as my husband. Love the White Pyramid.

Good food but terrible place. More like a club house On a camp site. Run down, not waitress service or management in so called restaurant. Children running around, members of public picking up tables next to us and moving them around. Unable to finish Meal due to horrendous noise level. When we walked out & expressed our concerns I was met with a total uninterested, unprofessional and argumentative member of staff who was defensive & uninterested. I said please don’t argue with, I have one word for you .....TripAdvisor! I never write bad reviews but this place is shocking!

We went here for a family birthday. Before we even sat down we were pressured to order drinks. We were put in a very sparse room that still had Artex on the wall and very unkempt. There were planks of wood stuck to the wall that were to hold speakers and wires. Christmas lights donned all over the ceilings. Had to send some drinks back due to them being tasteless and they were replaced. Another drink had floaters in it. Young waitress was very polite. Tables were sticky and had a putty like substance in the joints. Don’t know where to begin with the food. I will just give our opinion on two of them. Rump steaks were not what I would call a rump steak more like flat ironed. We asked for two medium cooked, one was well done and the other rare. Chips tasted like they had been left blanched for a long time and cooked in rancid oil. We asked for two sauces one Dianne which was not! The other was a red wine sauce and it was just tasted of strong peppercorns. Nobody on the whole table of six could not eat it. We sent it back only for the waitress to inform us that the chef said it has the same amount of pepper as a peppercorn sauce. We knew then we was on a no winner. Wrapped up both steaks in the doggy bag. As it was a family meal especially for my disabled mum (who did enjoy her fish and chips) I was asked not to complain any more. Which would have been difficult as all staff were huddled together talking. I can honestly say this is the worse meal I have ever payed for.

Good service food was fine, their Cod curry special was very good. Surroundings in the bar a bit dingy, all OK for a normal lunch out but not a special occasion. Car park off the main road. just outside St Austell.

Live locally however never tried this place before so thought we'd give it a go as a treat for my daughter's birthday. Four adults in our party. It was a Saturday evening and hardly anyone there. By 9pm only us and one other table occupied! Lack of ambience and unimaginative decor. Place felt like a cafe rather than a restaurant. Food was adequate but some items were bland and nothing special. Two of the four meals in particular were dreary. Service however was outstanding and waitresses extremely efficient and helpful. Overall the meal was not especially good value and for the money I certainly won't be returning. There are far better venues locally serving tastier food in more conducive surroundings.It's not a place to go to impress someone or a good choice for a special occasion.

Our party of five went on a Friday evening. The Pyramid does a special deal of " two for one" between 5 and 6.30pm on Monday to Friday on a lot of the items on the main menu. I had the rump steak which was huge and delicious, served with onion rings and mushroom, tomato , chips and peas. My daughter had the same so we got two steak meals for £15.95 !! How good is that. It does get busy so remember that. But would definitely recommend it.

Well , two years after my last review we decided to give the pub another go to see how things are moving along. It was Mothers Day and so in a day like this when every family is out treating their mum I expected busyness and so was fine about having to wait for our table to be ready and the wait for our food to be served. We were seated again at a similar sticky table as last time. The excuse we were given was the varnish on the table causes the stickiness so in two years why hasn't that been removed and redone with one that isn't? There is work going on evidenced by plaster board resting against the wall in the restaurant which is a good thing but makes me wonder how long that's been going on for? We sat at our table and were given a paper menu which was small and select which I dont mind, As I recommended last time a smaller menu means more time to make the meals better quality. The children all really enjoyed their meals and we had roasts. Unfortunately what they corrected in good roast potatoes is gone bad again. They were unpleasant and tasted old again. The rest of it was ok. Best part was definitely the puddings, whoever their supplier is now, is doing good flavours and textures. It was the highlight of the meal. The custard was lovely. Overall not bad but not great. Won't be rushing back again or recommending it to anyone. If theres no where else to go, it'll do.
