If you are looking for a great village pub then this is surely one not to be missed. Wonderful staff, the kind lady who served us made sure that we had food and drink. This is a dog friendly pub as well which is wonderful. Food was reasonably priced, served quite quickly, and taste as a pub food would. The atmosphere is also note worthy if you're similar to me and enjoy the cosy dark wooden pubs.

Very disappointed, says will open ‘weather permitting’ at 0800, we arrived at 0940 on a bright spring morning, but Deck on the go not open, asked when they would open and told ‘not sure they were busy doing things’. Drove by 10 minutes later after getting coffee elsewhere and they were open. So our limited contact says they don’t care about customers and don’t need new trade.

Got to be one of the worst Indian meals in a long time, half tandoori chicken was so dry and aged looking. People were nice enough, I didn’t complain as don’t want to get into it, I was only visiting the area but definitely won’t be going back. Shane as nice little square…

I had a superb lunch with a friend today at The Roebuck. Its been recently taken over and is now a quality Indian restaurant. The wine list is very good and the food is excellent. You can absolutely tell it was freshly prepared. There will be many future visits so I can work through the great menu. We were told they are very busy, justifiably so, so booking would be a good idea.

Stopped in on a dog walk for a quick drink mid afternoon on a weekday. Ordered a lime and soda at the bar. The not so friendly bar staff asked for £9. A little taken back l confirmed l ordered a soda and lime to which l was told yes £9 as they don’t have soda water on tap. I literally was shell shocked at the price. Another member of staff walked by and the bar staff asked to confirm the price. They responded with just charge for a cordial. Was then asked for £4.50. Left rather taken a back. Went to the pub across the road with friendly staff and paid £1.40. I dread to imagine the price of their wine and food!

Well, the Old Tea House appears permanently closed and the village has lost a great asset and social hub . For the last year, the venue has appeared extremely confused about what it wants to be and who it is catering for. Clearly its former customer base felt the same and have stayed away in their hordes. This has been a tea room for as long as I remember- I recall coming here as a child decades ago and I think it is a tragic loss to the village. It is a wonderful spot to sit outside and watch the world go by or to sit inside in inclement weather. The best thing the owner could do for the village is to sell or lease it to someone who wants to bring the soul back. Tragic.
