I visited here in two separate occasions, one with my sister-in-law and the daughter (age 13) this visit was primarily to do the pottery painting? I can thoroughly recommend this, brilliant activity if you’re into arts and craft. The second occasion was with my husband and my dog to visit the garden centre. This we find it to be a well equipped garden centre which is not overpriced. Some lovely ideas for gifts, outdoor clothing, garden furniture, plants and a pet shop. The Garden centre is dog friendly with a few areas around which does not allow dogs. There’s quite a lot to do at this location , especially if you have a YoungFamily, butterfly, soft play, petting zoo, pottery painting etcetera. There are two cafés at this location, one of them being dog friendly with a segregated area for dogs and the owners. The café is okay, not great. We ordered a sandwich, cheese scone and a pot of tea. The sandwich took 45 minutes to make, It was a nice sandwich although 45 minutes to wait for a sandwich was a bit of a joke. In summary: dog friendly garden centre, children activities, location easy to get to, free parking and a cafe. We will revisit.

Dear McDonald’s Customer Service / Manager I am writing to express my deep disappointment and concern regarding a very unpleasant experience I had at your Newbury town outlet on 28 April, 2025. I had ordered a Veg Burger, and to my shock, the burger had a foul smell, indicating it was not fresh. Even more disturbing, I found a strand of hair inside the burger, which is completely unacceptable and unhygienic. When I brought this to the attention of the staff and requested a replacement, the manager not only refused to resolve the issue politely but also shouted at me in front of other customers. This kind of behaviour from a manager is extremely unprofessional and made me feel disrespected and humiliated. As a regular customer of McDonald’s, I expected better quality food and respectful service. I request you to look into this matter seriously and take appropriate action to ensure such incidents do not happen again. Looking forward to your response and a resolution. Reviews - I will not Recommend this place I will give 0/10 Service 0/10 Food - 0/10 Customer- 0/10 Service

Haven’t been here for ages, but we thought we’d try it again. Nicely decorated pub and well looked after. Good ‘pub meal’ menu - pretty quick and friendly service. Food was very good indeed, well cooked and presented. Content and satisfied and at a very reasonably price.

Colgué y decidí no volver a hacerlo. Realmente lástima ya que la cola de buey era perfecta. ¡Sólo una mala actitud!

I had chicken fried rice , large pancake rolls chips and curry sauce . The pancake rolls contained bean sprouts and one tiny shrimp … they were under cooked so had to go into the air frier … made them more palatable but not good. The chips were not cooked and hard in the middle … they were thrown away. The curry sauce had a glue like consistency which was not palatable … went in the bin…. The chicken fried rice was not like any I have tasted before … hardly any chicken about three peas and was as dry as could be … it tasted bad. Went in the bin. All in all I paid over 18 pounds and only ate the pancake rolls having cooked them due to being undercooked. I live a few miles away so didn’t take it all back …. Once I was home I didn’t want to head back out. Very disappointed.

We have stayed at The Dundas Arms two or three times in the past and our stay was excellent. This time round it was terrible ! . . . our room was not fit for purpose it was tired, the bathroom taps were all faulty, the bed was not made up, the complimentary tea and coffee cups were left dirty and not replaced. The patio table and chairs were covered in moss from the roof. Some items on the menu were not even available as they had ran out. We were also told that the majority of staff were not fully trained as they had only been there for a couple of weeks. The longest member of staff Grace went above and beyond her duties towards us. To whom we told the manager and hope she was rewarded for all her hard work. It seemed at times that she was the only one working. It is an excellent location with large garden and many good canal walks. The railway Station is so close by and is available to get to Newbury or Hungerford in minutes.
