Thtcham Kebab in West Berkshire

We ordered a kebab for delivery ASAP and got told it would be 45 minutes they’d fine …. It has taken 1hr 50 to get to us (it’s a 15 min drive) and the food was cold! We are most unimpressed to say the least.

Ordered the family meal it was very fresh and tasty everything perfect.

Absolutely leng 👌🏻. Had munchies with bestie and ordered it and it was quick, yummy and the delivery geezer was calm. Only thing was is my mate ordered peppers but received CHILLI peppers but it's calm, watching her burn her gob was quite funny.

Delicious food, but a bit pricey in comparison to other kebab shops (item dependent).

My son tried to cancel the order he is in hospital and I know he would have been polite over the phone about this matter. I then telephoned as his mum to explain the situation but the manager was very rude he kept saying that I worked at the hospital I should control what patients are ordering I am an hour and half away from the hospital he just rudely kept repeating or rather shouting that I worked at the hospital and it was my fault. So guess yes I was rude back if you are going to speak to people in that tone you will just get rude back my son is in a stressful situation in the hospital he would have meant no harm and trying to cancel his order How rude is the manager of this kebab shop !!!!!!!

Whenever I come here, I always get a super sloppy burger and the chaps never disappoint 🍔🤤 love their app as you can customise your food exactly to your personal preference. Overall nice staff, well presented little corner store & very tasty food. Would recommend.

Second shot, tried again, I noticed on arrival that the Lamb Kabab cooking rotor was turned off with the remains of burnt meat on the spindle. Two Lamb Kababs ordered, The meat was taken from the heated tubs and the salad was fresh. The heated tubs keep the food warm but also depending on time dehydrates the food. And again we threw most of it away as the meat was in a period of drying out. I appreciate in catering because of an unknown demand especially in fast food it is difficult to remain on top. You will get nowhere if you do not supply fresh food and be prepared to lose income from stale food above reputation.

Unfortunately the order was wrong. Tomato and onion in a wrap that was meant to be hallumi and lettuce only. Not good when you don’t like onion and tomato!! Seemed quite hectic in the shop so not surprised the order was wrong. Such a shame.

Everything was PERFECT✨ the best Kebab in Thatcham. The workers were warm. I really advice you.

I ordered for the first time on their website online. I ordered a family meal which brings 8 pcs of chicken, 5 wings, coleslaw, 3 portions of chips and a drink. I got onion rings and cheese sticks too. There was 2 portions of chips missing :( the chicken was OK but not very crispy. There's no email contact available for this things :(

I Think normally you are the best kebab shop in newbury/thatcham BUT today was one of the worst experinces ive ever had my food was unedible the chips were soggy and the meat was burnt and cold on top of this it took 1 hr and 20 mins to arrive i think this is disgusting and it makes me second guess ever coming back... i wouldnt of posted this here but email wasnt an option so front page it goes

Hit and miss, unfortunately inconsistent , some times really nice, fresh, hot and good fast service. On the down side we have had tonight and not for the first time lamb kebab that contained overcooked, dehydrated, crystallised meat that should have been wasted , placing profit before standards And so we are all judged by our best and worst, but it is the latter that will be remembered.

Everytime I get food here, its always nice. Im a bit osses with their pizzas 😍 And the chicken sandwich is to die for! The obviously have the best kebabs in Thatcham, but the rest of their menu is also really nice. Staff are so friendly and helpful. 10/10.

Excellent kebabs and crispy chips.

Used to love this place but no longer do. Been ordering from here for over 10 years. This weekend they got the order wrong. When replacing the order they asked for the wrong items back as the didn’t believe us. They often make mistakes and we have to deal with it. Disgusting customer service to loyal customers! Dread to think how they treat new customers. Avoid, avoid!

Not had one for a while didn’t realise the price was a bit higher so sorry didn’t mean not to tip. I didn’t realise Absolutely amazing as always. Been using these for over 15 years plus. Best kebab ever. Would never go anywhere else. X

For the past 7 years I've lived here I'd say botan kebabs had the upper hand with quality of meat. The past 2 years their standard has dropped dramatically by reheating meat to order and drying it out. Thatcham kebabs has always maintained their standard throughout and will always order here from now on. Great kebab, great standard canr go wrong with these guys

I ordered a takeaway for my daughter and I, and it took over an hour to be delivered. On opening the food, it can best be described as luke warm/cold. I called the establishment and was told, "Sorry about that" and then the phone was hung up.

Don't order from here, don't waste your money. I wish I had read the reviews before ordering but it's my own fault for not doing so. I've never had a take away so bad as this place before, chicken shish was undercooked the doner meat smelt bad, chicken strips was just Batter and the chips was dry and like eating cardboard All the meal had no flavour at all On the plus side the service was actually good and on time But please avoid

Well...don't waste your time or money. Its the biggest rip off ever . Once I swam through the grease of my wrapper, I was expecting a grilled chicken kebab, instead I got shreded chicken that seemed frozen, and was hard and dry, the chips were harder than a bullet and clearly had been reheated or stored under heat lamps all day., I cant give a star rating as they don't deserve one!! But had too to leave a review!! Ps wrapper is after polystyrene box! Please don't go !!

Small kebab burnt and strong taste of salt , partner tried and was disgusted so called to speak to a guy who laughed down phone at her then hung up and now not answering.steer clear.

Ordered a small donor kebab for my partner and all he could taste was salt have ordered alot from them never had an issue. So called them to explain that all you can taste is salt. To be told they have sold many today and they had no complaints and then hang up the phone on us. So rude and not professional at all Will not order ever again and warn others not too

Very disappointed order chicken shish kebab and chips, the kebab bread was cold and the chips had a tiny bit of garlic sauce.

After ordering on just eat I phoned to amend the order after 4 mins of being placed,I was told the order had left the building! So I was impressed quick speed and service...to be waiting 50 mins later multiple calls and the just eat driver telling me he just picked it up, even though the restaurant had told me for 50 mins...he's on his way...just a few drops and he will be with you...pretty sure EHO would love to see u! Or the driver was on time and you chatting pur rubbish...all part of a process .

The chips are just not nice the chease on the the chips are just like rubber the food is rubbish and it's way over price £15for chips a pizza and a drink definitely not coming here again 🤮

Very disappointed in tonight’s order from thatcham kebab! I have used this company for many years now and tonight has really let me down. I ordered a bit off my usual including a large box of cooked doner meat but let’s be fair it’s hardly cooked it looks like it’s been a bit shy off the grill and hasn’t been crisped up at all which has left it soggy and rubbery like chewing on a sandal. Will be waiting to order again until I see better reviews.

Manager told us 20 minutes, was over an hour. Food was horrible cold and lettuce was brown.

They were very busy at the time I was in there, so understand the wait. However the food was not worth the wait, maybe chose the wrong thing, but won't visit again.

This place is class, prices for food is good for what you get and the perfect drunk food. The guy who deliverer My food was really fit as well.

Avoid. Their food was dry and awful. I complained about the mould on my burger bun, Management were going to call me back. No phone call. Guess it's a great place for a quick fix after a few pints. But not the best in Thatcham.

I really wish I had read reviews before ordering! This is a large donner meat and chips by the way, £8.00p! The meat has been cooked on the grill and is burnt! I rang the shop and all they said was this is large and put the phone down! Never again will I order here and I will tell other people not to order aswell 🤬🤬

Over priced,always cold when delivered and 9 times out of ten the order isnt correct.do yourself a favour and go somewhere else

The owner has sadly lost my business as he told me off whilst making a £60 order. It was my child's birthday get together. I greeted a guest saying hello and quickly explained that I was ordering food . The told me off saying "Do not say hello to people whilst you are making an order with me. Keep your mind on what you are doing." I used to make quite regular orders as I thought it better to go local than pizza hut etc. I will never make another order after that. Also they don't even give a free drink or snack with orders over £30 or £40. Customers are NOT valued only as cash cows. The food is average never enough salad on the kebabs often coldish and way too much cheese on pizzas so they are full of Grease.

Some people told me to avoid this place ... now I know why ...

Super scrummy shish kebabs - only place to get decent shush in Thatcham. Efficient online ordering with swift delivery is such a bonus too.

I used you guys all the time normally very good service after waiting nearly 2hrs for a delivery then phone up to ask what the delay was got the most sarcastic response from a very rude guy I'm sorry you just lost a regular customer

I had loved this place but one day I ordered fried chicken and then I felt sick at first I didn't think it was the chicken but I had it again with my sister and both got food poisoning it only got 2 because I used to love it and fast delivery

Never go to thatcham kebab!! All my order all wrong but they have gave me the receipt with the right order on for what i asked now not only that but they wont recook my food and let me return this one...... So now im going to have cold food by the time i get the rest of my order complete mess up that place also told me 40 mins delivery was waiting over a hour and a half....... What a joke! Great customer service there 👌 do go!!!!

I've just had food from this place very over priced I ordered chicken wrap + chips £ 10 they put the chips in the wrap food was not pleasant at all do not recommend.

Really good chicken shish kebab. The pitta fell apart, but there was a lot of meat and salad

we was told 55mins for delivery try more like 1hour an half. the food was horrible grease everywhere not even wrap up properly the grease was in the bottom of the bag!! they only good thing about what was order was the chillies peppers, The customer service was absolutely horrible the guy on the phone needs some telephone skills! and as for the drive he was useless!!! defo gonna stick to DAVES KEBAB VAN

Their food is fine but their customer service could use some work. Very sharp and short over the phone even though I tried my best to be apologetic about putting in a wrong address and getting it redirected (im not a Karen I understand that was my fault) Person on the other end felt the need to nag me about the reaction drivers get from other people at the incorrect address like it's my fault. TL:DR Very rude and short with apologetic customers

Me and my wife are very fussy when it comes to kebabs I'd recommend this 100% nice doner meat not grissle, salad was fresh chill sause is nice all round perfect kebab !

Worst food I ever had in Newbury. Ordered at 19:55 and got my food 1:30 later to just bin it as it was horrible. Just a waist of time, money and food.

Ordered a chicken shish and they were all great at time of ordering, but I didn’t order chilli sauce and I did order garlic sauce but my kebab was RED Hot! Too hot to eat. We phoned them and the managers response was “chilli sauce is hot” I didn’t order chilli sauce and my chicken shish nearly split my lips it was so hot. Not good. Manager needs a lesson in customer care and listening. Would NOT RECOMMEND.

Fantastic Kebabs .really tasty , properly cooked and cut with a real knife I come from London and there are some fantastic Kebab shops there , this one compares to them 100 times better than this god awful Vans that park up in town and use pig shavers to cut uncooked meat. Avoid them they are terrible

as per title the food is great, ive only been a handful of times and each time the food was good very tasty and hot my only downside is the wait if its busy (not their Fault i know ) but i have waited around 30mins for my food to be ready,

My kebab did come in the end and it was very nice.

If it was any more under cook it would had ran off my plate

Best kebabs I have found in the UK. A good healthy take away option in the chicken shish with everything. Always tasty and very filling. Good value.

Kebab is chewy and cold, chips were also cold and tasteless, got it delivered but that's not the point, gave up trying to eat it and ordered somewhere else.

Absolutely disgusting nearly £60.00 to fill the bin chips soggy wet and cold, kebabs arrived with no salad and again cold and under cooked chicken sandwich no salad or mayo again cold they blamed us and the on line service for the mess up offered to replace the 3 kebabs if we gave them back the original ones when the new ones arrived I have to say they were no better you know it’s bad when even the dog turned his nose up at the food so suffice to say all the food went in the bin and we won’t be going back

Terrible experience. We ordered a donner meat and chips via the app. We spoke to the live chat vis the app and said how do we add salad etc. Ans they said add it to the comments as on Donner meat and chips there is no option to do it. It arrived and despite ordering a large it was really small, the Donner meat was barely cooked and there was no salad cheese or sauce. Totally plain. I called up to complain and they're said it was my fault because I didn't pay for it. I explained the app doesn't allow that to happen so they offer to charge me for some salad and cheese and deliver salad and cheese to me. Not even an apology. They said it's not their fault it's the company that runs the apps fault because they shouldn't have told me that. They had my number but didn't call me to ask me to pay the extra before delivering it, just ignored it because it wasn't paid for and sent it out plain. Dinner ruined. Avoid.

This place has gone down hill so much...waited almost an hour for my order people came in after me to order and they were served and left before I got mine... staff are rude .... delivery driver takes his kids out with him leaves them in the car whilst he's in sorting out his next delivery order (almost 15 mins) sauces are watery and tasteless meats over cooked .... never coming here again. ....

They do the best wraps I’ve had! I order pretty often from them, never had a problem with the delivery and food is always great.

Only just found this place, but now we're hooked and don't go anywhere else. It's not fast food so it's a good idea to ring ahead with with your order but its worth the wait.in the end. Nicest takeaway I've come across for a very long time.

Average and very expensive for what it is compared to the takeaway vans nearby. Seems along with a new price board the prices have gone up and now its almost as expensive as going and having a pub meal.

Seriously , the kebabs in here are great, The mixed chicken and lamb is excellent and the large will serve 2 people at just over £8. You can order via App and they have loads of other options ..pizza meal deals etc.

Doner must be 70% salt. Over cooked chicken on the grill. Staff Can't take multiple orders. You wake up with a food hangover after eating thier doner. Bad!!!!!!!!!
