Good, hot, reliable Chinese food. Always delivered before the time stated. I think Some of the ‘hairy’ reviews were perhaps posted maliciously. We’ve used this place for years and I’d say almost always, good.

Always delivered on time usually way before time stated, always nice and hot and portion size is good, chips are a bit hit and miss but overall very good food.

70 spent to feed the family, we had hair in the food, it was luke warm by the time we got it and my kid vomited after eating it. all in all a bad experience. will never buy from them again, it's even put me off Chinese food altogether. very sad to leave this review but it wasnt too good, we just had to throw most of it in the bin

Not a great experience food had been reheated many times £26 for mixed starters which were hardly edible, so much batter on the salt and pepper chicken wings ,seaweed had a funny taste to it, all in all a dissapointing experience Total waste of £43

Food always hot and delivered on time.

Website states delivery but when I phoned to place an order for delivery the rude lady said I had to order online. I explained I had no internet access at that time and could I order over the phone. She said if I ordered over the phone I’d need to pay cash on delivery, I agreed, then she said it would be 1.5hrs, I agreed. Then she asked if I was sure I couldn’t order online. Very clearly not wanting my order. I offered to pay for the food over the phone with my bank card and she refused. Rude lady and no food.

The best Asian food, in the UK! My family has been purchasing amazing food from Evergreen for years, not had 1 complaint, the food arrives fast, hot, fresh and top quality! The food tonight was amazing! Sweet & sour chicken balls, chicken fried rice, Singapore chow main, seaweed, salt & pepper chicken and duck spring rolls all perfect 👌 thanks Evergreen

Tastiest chinese takeaway I have had in a long time. Recommended

Absolutely the worst food I have ever eaten.fried in old oil,no taste and chewy pork balls I have never had a more worse experience. Never will I give them my hard earned money again.my advice stay away

We ordered over 40 worth of food Friday night and it was dreadful the chips my god cold dry beef curry like water my partners was a bowl of water that had noodles chicken in never again

Really lovely food especially the house special chow mein. The server was friendly and I found the whole experience faultless. Its cash only, 2 ATM's a short walk on the same side of the street. The one to the left of the takeaway charges £1.99 the other to the right is a Lloyd's. There is a local shop on the market square with a good selection of wines, beers etc. Parking easy but may not be the case at busy times.

Been coming here for a while now and can honestly say they do the best sweet & sour chicken balls in Newbury. Egg fried rice is also made the correct way, not just boiled rice with some egg chucked in.

This is the first time I have used Evergreen and I was not disappointed. The food arrived quicker than expected and all the dishes were lovely. Great flavours, tasty and nice and hot. My new go to Chinese takeaway.

Lady taking order was very rude, I don’t expect to be shouted at for getting confused over ingredients, Most of the food went straight in the bin, won’t be ordering from them again.

Food was over an hour later than was said, and it was cold RUBBISH!!

Having to put one star just to write a review. We ordered a duck chow main that came watery and full of vegetables and hardly any duck nor noodle in sight. When we have ordered this before it has not come with excess water nor soggy veg. When we complained we where told that that’s how it comes and that’s that. After this we had some of the chicken Hong Kong style.. which was raw! When we called back and argued they offered just to refund the chicken. Worse Chinese in Newbury. Will never go here again!

I rarely find myself in a position where I come on here to leave a review to complain however on this instance I’ve been driven too. The food arrived cold and flavourless. The duck chow mein came with no duck but instead a barrage of vegetables which wasn’t requested and was asked not to be added. Would recommend avoiding this disappointing take away at all costs!

This used to be our go to Chinese however the quality of food has been a bit hit and miss and now they are charging almost £7 for delivery, it’s a joke.

The VERY worst Chinese take away I have ever eaten! A plate of slop in watered down ketchup and smoked shredded chicken with a mountain granulated sugar on it was horrible. The only recommendation I have is that you never ever waste your money buying food from here.

I rarely eat takeaway , but every now and then I get one from here and a couple of times it's been really good , but my last meal of salt and pepper chicken, pork chow mein, and wan ton soup was terrible no flavour no veg and so over salty I couldn't, eat it, had to drink 3 pints of water afterwards...I use to like this place so this is a message to them. Please aim higher or people might stop coming, aim for flavour not salt and I will try again later.

All round friendly service and lovely food to top. Certain things on the menu are not as I expect but I am fussy but many things have raised the standard so experiment with meals to find what you like the most.

Ordered today and it was at my door in no time!! The food was absolutely delicious!!! Had beef in black bean sauce, chicken balls, duck in plum sauce, spring rolls and mushrooms rice. So soooo happy right now!!

I really like Evergreen. The food always seems fresh and tasty. The service is good. It is my top choice for takeaway.

Ordered at 5.20 and was told it would be about an hour and 1hour 20minutes later I called again asking were my order was they said there was a car broken down and they would call the other driver to get it to us asap another 25 minutes later the driver turned up it was stone cold he said he had it for 20 minutes so it must have been stood in the shop for ages so 2 hoursl no dinner just excuses I won't be using them again only if going to collect.

Ordered food here through just eat. Food took 2 hours to come, food arrived cold and was disgusting. When calling to find out where our food was, we were told they would call the delivery driver. 20 minutes later still nothing, called again to be told they didn't get a chance to call the driver yet. We were so hungry we ate the food when it arrived. No apology from the delivery driver. Soon after eating I felt sick and threw it all up again. Will never order again!!!!!!

We've always managed to have a decent take-away from the Evergreen.

The food was very enjoyable — flavours spot on! My only gripe was about the temperature. I would have preferred it piping hot and not just lukewarm. Please note this was a takeaway and therefore we did not attend the restaurant.

Order came early, chicken chow mein was really good . However the salt and pepper chicken was stringy and chewy and the peanut sauce tasted more like gravy the satay sauce. Dissapointed as was exspensive.

Whenever I visit my boyfriend we have takeaway from here and it is The most consistently delicious food every single time. Cannot recommend these guys more

The food all tasted off it was over cooked and tasted as if it had just been microwaved all the meat had a strange taste to it. Did not enjoy any of it was very disappointed would definitely not order there again or recommend to anyone

Unfortunately we were left extremely disappointed last night and hungry! We’ve ordered regularly from Evergreen and it’s normally gorgeous food. However, last night it really wasn’t good. The duck was beautiful so credit where credits due, but the rest of the food wasn’t. The Satay Chicken really wasn’t nice, the chicken was slimy and the whole thing was soaked in the sauce that was almost a gooey texture! The squid looked anaemic and like it had barely been fried at all and the prawn toast looked really unappealing and after one bite and an odd rubbery texture, we didn’t touch anymore. I’m really disappointed as we thought we’d found ourselves a great, consistent Chinese but I’m reluctant to order again and waste a lot of money like we did last night.

Expected a 1 hour wait for delivery but delivered in 15 mins by a friendly delivery guy. First order with Just Eat and with Everygreen. Very impressed. Thank you.

Food usually very good. But they put the wrong seasoning on the smoked chicken. Was incredibly salty, couldn’t eat it, it’s suppose to be sugar coated :/

the food was tasteless. salt and pepper chicken wings were poor quality and no seasoning on them but rather mush on the bottom. chow mien was flavourless, the ribs were ok but swimming in grease. I wouldn’t bother if you have a choice.

First Chinese meal on moving to Newbury so unsure of what to expect. Our choice of hot tasty food for 7 people DELICIOUS We requested asap delivery, advised an eta, however, arrived 30mins ahead of the advised eta by a very polite & friendly delivery Wey Hey! Very happy customer who will most certainly use Evergreen again in the future & will recommend 5* Thank you :-)

Excellent hot food, arrived earlier than expected, in spite of The Grand National, which meant the phone lines were ringing off the hook. Very impressed. Good value too

Food was delivered early which was great. However, chicken chow mein only consisted of some chicken, bamboo shoots and noodles. Other than bamboo shoots there wasn't a single piece of vegetable in the dish. My experience of chow mein is peppers, pea pods and other green veg, but there wasn't a single piece of green :-(

Again great food - meal for one was delicious. My daughter loves the four combo! Our favourite Chinese by far!

Me and my partner love this Chinese takeaway. Cannot go wrong, we love the food, always in time and the veggie spring rolls are so tasty along side Singapore rice noodles! Highly request this place if you want a quick delivery :)

I didn’t even get my delivery last night although says delivered... I got a text at 22:46 saying it’s on it’s way but nothing. I tried calling the shop but no answer. I need a refund or the same order for tonight

Not only was it a 1hr and 15minute wait. When the food arrived it not only looked disgusting but it also tasted it. A lot of the food was delivered in what kebab boxed food is eating in. Not one of the dishes was enjoyable and looked nothing like other chineses dishes I’d had before and £44 was a lot of money for food to be really disappointed. Would never order from here again.

Best Chinese in Newbury (Singapore rice 👌). Ordered through JustEat for the first time and was given an hour but arrive in 25 minutes!

Nothing special, but the food is OK at a reasonable price. The service is not the fastest, but they are happy to customise dishes for you.

Food was tasty and piping hot and delivered promptly. Delivery driver apologised for being 5 minutes late! Only issue was the noodle soup was ridiculously salty.

Chicken and Duck were slightly over done but overall nice food

The driver decided not to use our driveway to deliver the food instead he drove, not once but twice, over our front lawn despite our protests to the contrary. I've never experienced anything like this before.....

Pretty much an all round dissapontment.

Food was bland, pork chewy and overdone. Delivery was 50 minutes late and food was lukewarm. Ribs were tasty but had almost no meat on them with 2 of them being solid bone and the others 60% bone and 20% inedible gristle. Doubt I will order from here again.

Im sorry to say we didnt enjoy our meal, we ordered at 5pm expecting the food to be cooked fresh however it was as if our food had just been put in a microwave to warm up, the crispy beef was soggy and the chow mein lacked flavour. Even our free prawn crackers were stale and limp. Very dissapointed with our food

soy sauce instead of bbq sauce. noodles instead of special fried race. 2 out of 6 dishes incorrect from order.

I order regularly and sadly tonight the duck was not great. Very fatty, bit dry and not crispy. Disappointing on this occasion.
