Always my choice for light refreshments or afternoon tea! Very accepting to my small dog Mia & Bambi! Lovely staff and good practice of my bsl sign language as deaf. So be patient service can be slow but worth the wait as often he is alone working. A good pot of decaf tea and home baked cakes and scones. Happy to top up jam cream tea at no extra charge. Today , We had cuppa soup and ham salad sandwiches and a panini ….. I had mozzarella tomato and avocado filling , with generous dressed salad garnish . under £15 per person . Very pleasing and charming. Small quaint Bletchingly homely cafe with approx 5 tables so booking recommended only a few tables outside and off street parking .

Wow, what an amazing night at Casa Zilli. The food was wonderful, in particular the steak was melt in your mouth gorgeous!! Nikki & her front of house team provided exceptional service, the attention to detail was second to none. Aldo & his team cooked us the most amazing food. We didn’t want to be rushed as this was a birthday celebration. I spoke to Nikki before we arrived & she ensured we had big gaps between courses so we could enjoy our evening. Overall the evening was just perfect & I can’t recommend Casa Zilli highly enough.

I have reviewed this pub before but unfortunately cannot give a great review this time. As it was a hot day the garden was filled with families enjoying the weather my friend had booked a table in the restaurant for 12 people. So many problems with food. Undercooked chicken satay, greasy batter on the prawn lollipops, cheese put on fish pie which was not requested. Cold coffee . My friend asked for port to finish the meal and was served sherry! Such a shame. It seems the staff are very young and inexperienced and tend to be catering for the families in the garden more than restaurant diners

The restaurant is lovely, set in the cloisters, the staff are attentive, very smartly dressed and the quality is good – possibly bordering on very good. However, the prices are now top end and higher than many London restaurants, for example, a fillet steak with a sauce and chips is priced at over £55 and this is before you include the 12.5% tip. That’s too much. A modest three course dinner, with a glass of wine, is starting to nudge £100 a head. I fear they are pricing themselves out of the market.

A recent visit with a group of Cyclists and we do enjoy our Coffee & Cake stops. Looks like a charming place and the cakes on offer looked good but on ordering and trying to pay I was told they had a NO CASH policy?! How Crazy is that??? In my opinion a very unwise precedent for a Small Business that clearly needs supporting as apart from us and 2 other people, the place was empty. As absolute TRACKABLE CONTROL over EVERYTHING WE SPEND is a very clear AGENDA We should make every effort to use MORE CASH and PUSH BACK its removal in favour of the CBDC's (Central Bank Digital Currencies) the Government is gagging to inflict on us. Every Small/Med Business in these times of Crisis after Crisis after Crisis deserve to keep as much of their hard earned money as possible so, let's not be fooled into thinking everything Digital is purely for our 'Convenience' as nothing could be further from the TRUTH. I don't carry Cards when Cycling and I certainly wouldn't entertain Payments by Phone either but more Importantly ... We Have A Right To Use CASH as Legal Tender wherever & whenever we choose to do so. Out of Principle, I use CASH over any other payment now. As a result I went without and so did The Old Post and nor will I return or recommend until they embrace the use of CASH again.

This is what I call a ‘proper’ pub. Quality beers, lagers and wine. No food, no large numbers of kids going mad. An absolute oasis of relaxation along with professional bar staff that make you feel welcomed and valued as a customer Simply the best around

We have been going here for years. Always been great food and delivered in a timely manner. Tonight's takeaway was awful! Our meal was delivered on time, but the food was a disappointment! The Onion bargis were burnt and chewy, the poppadoms were stale and in general the food was not up to their usual standard. We all said it was like eating a meal that had been left in the microwave all night, then reheated. Money not well spent tonight.

Went for afternoon tea as a birthday treat for my mother-in-law. Most tables in the Cloisters restaurant have lovely views over the neighbouring countryside, so we were very disappointed to be placed in a dingy side room with no views at all, even though we had booked months in advance. We were initially told no ‘nice’ tables were available, but after being a bit more forceful one became available! Service was very good - staff very attentive and friendly, however food was fairly average. Sandwiches were very cold - presumably made in advance and kept in fridge , so not really freshly made. Surprisingly, for a formal tea there were no table cloths - just a bare vinyl table. In summary, this is a beautiful setting, but make sure you get a table by a window , or in the wood-panelled Library room ( in use for a wedding reception when we visited). Food offering unexceptional and at £50 pp with a glass of champagne not very good value - the Ritz at £70 is in another league altogether and better value for a memorable day in my view.

I used to love coming here - but Im afraid it's not the place it was. Today, my visit was cold, noisy and my hot drink was luke warm. Thankfully, I didnt eat because I couldnt really wait to leave. I guess you can't control parents who let their children run around screaming, but you can heat your venue and make sure a hot chocolate is actually hot. Shame, because the staff are lovely. Won't be rushing back.
