India Village in Tandridge

We have been going here for years. Always been great food and delivered in a timely manner. Tonight's takeaway was awful! Our meal was delivered on time, but the food was a disappointment! The Onion bargis were burnt and chewy, the poppadoms were stale and in general the food was not up to their usual standard. We all said it was like eating a meal that had been left in the microwave all night, then reheated. Money not well spent tonight.

Shame there are sooo many bad reviews for these guys but as my title says..... We ordered £50+ worth of home delivery food and i can honestly tell you it was up there with the best we've tasted: quality/quantity/timeless etc. We're locals. INDIA VILLAGE on our doorstep and the only Curry outlet for miles so..... If they don't cut it locally we tell all, if they do.... They stand or fall mainly on local custom. For us? We find the guys there hospitable, the food 💯 to our satisfaction, the quality and quantity is fab, delivery on point if not earlier. For first-timers i would say put the negative reviews aside and give them a try. Things change/Chefs change etc. We've suffered through I.V's bad times !! If you're still unsure then why not ring them, tell them you've seen so many negative reviews but are hoping for a decent meal. I'm sure they'll do their very best for you. Just tell them ! This is my honest and local feedback. If we didn't enjoy our food we wouldn't return there. We return.

Gave it a try for the first time. Put an order through the website, website returned with “you haven’t submitted your order”. Phoned the restaurant, asked if the order was received? “Yes sir, we have your order”. Went to pick it up “We don’t have your order.”. Place is filthy, service is awful, went elsewhere.

having lived in Bletchingley for a long time, we used to use India Village quite regularly as it used to be quite nice. However, i will no longer be wasting my time and money on this place as the standard of food has deteriorated so much as well as the service (if you could even call it that ) Around 6 months ago i ordered from here and went to pick my order up. After waiting nearly half an hour a delivery driver returned to the shop as he had mistakenly taken my order and given it to another customer The restaurant assured me that they would redo my order fresh and not give me the order that had been returned from the other customer . Suspiciously, within 5 minutes they came back out of the kitchen with my 'freshly prepared' order . I obviously had my doubts that this was fresh as it was quite a large order and when i got home , my suspicions were confirmed - naan bread cold and slimy, and food also cold and clearly not fresh but reheated. Last night , we decided to give them another try and boy , did i regret that decision . After over 1 hour waiting for the food, i rang to find out where it was and was told it was only 5 minutes away . Another 30 minutes later still waiting i rang them again and was told the same story. Not even an apology , the guy i spoke to on the phone could not have cared any less about the situation. When the food did arrive, very disappointing extremely low on substance - 2 prawns in the king prawn dish , and very little meat in the other dishes . And the taste- such a let down Never again , shameful service and disgusting food

The takeaway I had was terrible. Some lumps of chicken had gristle or something in and tasted odd. Had a King Prawn meal with literally no King Prawns in and a keema Naan with hardly any lamb in. They forgot my poppadoms and basically the takeaway extremely poor and will not use again.

Last night we had a great Curry from here Dhansaks x4 with rice and naans and some sides Best Lamb Dhansak I’ve had in ages Four of us and only £44 delivered This is a gem of a Curry House if they keep making Curries as tasty as this Give it a try Highly recommended

I've been thinking for some time that I must get on here and tell everyone how we've been using India Village for donkeys years and will always do so. Then tonight I had such a spectacular Vegetable Dhansak and Sag Mushroom that I gave myself the kick up the backside I needed and sat myself straight down at my laptop. Like I said, we've been using India Village for years and years. Basit and his team are efficient, hard-working and boy, do they know how to make a curry! Basit once explained to me that to make a curry properly takes hours and we agreed that it makes no sense to try and do that at home when you can get the experts to do it for you. I always pick mine up as sometimes they are victims of their own success and you might have to wait a little longer for your food to be delivered. If you order online and pick it up you can make a really decent saving and our food is ALWAYS ready. We think the value for money is excellent. Above all, it's RUDDY DELICIOUS!!! We LOVE their food. There is only one problem, which is that there has been more than one occasion when I have found myself back there before the week is out and I must confess to having devoured the leftovers cold the next morning. This does not make me a bad person, it makes me an aficionado! Basit and the Boys...you're brilliant!

we used to be regular customers! this place has gone down hill massively, had the phone put down on me, 2.5 hours for a delivery!! so much for service and good custom Rude and appalling service

Ordered via their website. Was told 1hr to 1h15 Rang after an 1hr 30 mins to be told it will be with me in an hour. They said they was very busy so delivery would 2hr30mins I said they should have called me to tell me this and was spoken over repeatably. Turned up 2hrs after ordering. Ordered 5 mains all were watery, will be looking elsewhere in the future. This isn’t the first time I’ve had problems with delivery. I can forgive mistakes but not repeat mistakes and especially not when I’m a paying customer being spoken over. Poor poor poor. Don’t bother

Absolutely appalling food. Onions raw. 4 bits of chicken. Cold rice. Smallest naan ever seen. Poppadoms a weird yellow colour. Onion bhajees no words and mint sauce a toxic green colour. First time using this restaurant and definitely the last! Called to complain and offered a 'on the house' next time. Its a no thanks from me.

This was a Christmas family gathering. India Village delivered a wide range of meals smack on time as promised. Very friendly and helpful staff. All the food was delicious and had great depth to the flavours. Not your standard stuff. Everyone really enjoyed the food and our party was great success as a result. Thank you very much. Faultless.

We were having a party for 40 people and organised for the India village to do the food, we had various curry’s & everyone said the food was amazing. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Saved £££ as collected too!!!

Lamb was so tough I couldn't bite through it, had to leave it. Saag Panir was incipid and didn't taste cooked. Prawn dish was average. Korma was nice. All food was luke warm. Most (not the Korma which my daughter liked) was thrown in the bin. The delivery man made a point that I should leave a review so here it is...

Used this as a takeaway for the first (and it will be the only) time Chicken Biriyani had only 3 pieces of chicken in it, the largest being the size of a 10p piece plus 2 others about 5p size. Also had 3 pieces of what look liked coal about the size of 10p.. looked and tasted disgusting. Chicken Balti the chicken was so tough it had to be cut with a knife The peshwari naan and poppadums were ok; but overall the food was very disappointing Have had to give it 1 as a rating only because Tripadvisor require a rating

Wow, easy to order, great value, they said it’ll be 40 minutes but came in 20! I ordered a vegetable korma amongst other bits , chicken korma came. When I called up the man apologised and sent a vegetable Korma to my house straight away! Very happy customers, thank you 😊

We get curry delivered from here at least a couple of times a month! We live a stones throw from a curry house however the curry delivered from Little India is hotter in temperature. Lovely flavour and great set menu deal! Recommend the Korai dishes and passanda.

I had my order and someone elses entire order delivered to me, I didn’t notice the extra as I thought it was a bottle of coke.I called the other recipient to let them know and then India village to let them know about my coke not being in my order, they were not bothered until I mentioned that I did have someone else’s order.The restaurant told the other recipient they would re cook their order. They also told me I would get my bottle of coke when the driver came back to collect the other persons order.I suspect they didn’t re cook it as a very unhelpful driver came back to collect it, but didn’t have my bloody coke again, And suggested I call the restaurant a third time whilst walking off.Poor service, bad manners.

Consistently great service from this takeaway, and the food is a good standard and not too salty. Try the King Prawn Puri...! We were pleasantly surprised that they accommodated our requests to have a dish cooked diary free (ie no butter or ghee).

Food is delicious, always piping hot and in my opinion the best Indian takeaway in Surrey. Prompt delivery to Merstham too!

We order regularly from India village even though there are much closer curry houses - the food is simply better! Love the dansak dishes and mushroom rice in particular - always promptly delivered. Delicious!

Frequently get delivery from their expansive menu, and always enjoy it. They deliver it from a cooler, and it is always steaming hot. Well spiced, generous portions, delicious!

This is a regular haunt of ours, on a Sunday evening after Church! Always great food, good service and a friendly welcome.

Fuimos al pueblo de la India el lunes pasado con dos amigos, uno de cuyos cumpleaños que estábamos celebrando. Aunque había tenido una llevar antes yo nunca había estado en el restaurante, así que quedé gratamente sorprendido por el nivel de comida y hospitalidad. Es un restaurante pequeño pero un menú muy bueno. Fueron amables y atentos sin ser entrometidos. Mi amigo, que es diabético, pedí una limonada dieta pero no tenían así que fuimos al lado y compramos algo así todo estaba bien. La comida era muy buena y caliente y buenas porciones de tamaño. Sin duda volveremos. Gracias.

Nunca va a ser de la lista debe ir; pero si buscas comida india muy bonito que no se puede mejorar. No esperes un ambiente super, o alrededores maravillosos, pero está limpio y ordenado: el personal es amable y eficiente. Siempre disfrutamos de nuestra visita y no tienen nada de que quejarse.

Love this place been using it for years it's the best Indian around this area staff are nice and food is reasonably priced would recommend if you love curry

Buena comida, buenos precios, y el servicio es bueno pero el restaurante le faltaba ambiente y hacía frío para comenzar. El restaurante está bien, pero no es 'gran'. Le daría 3.5 si pudiera.

Never eaten in the restaurant but take-away (delivery) is always brilliant, friendly, reasonably priced and tastes great - what more could you want?

Some friends have used this venue for a long, long time. They introduced us to it some few years ago. Whilst we throughly enjoy our visits, it seems we only ever go with our aforesaid friends. The atmosphere is ok, the staff efficient and very friendly as you would expect from a small establishment. We've never had any reason to complaint, or even grumble. But i doubt we'd go there without our mates.

Always very good. AS others have said, its nothing upmaket or fancy, but consistently good and great value.

The best curry house ever, not a fancy restaurant but the food is absolutely amazing! We had many birthday parties here and they catered for my son's christening. We have tried others locally and always come back to here.

First time we visit this place ,simple place nothing fancy but the food was excelent,Serves was good currys was tasty. Dal soep was good clean and good price Closed to the centre but you have to look or ask for it ,its in a corner in a housing estateIf you dont know diffelculd to find,yes we go again.

The food is tasty and the pricing reasonable. I wouldn't class this as a destination restaurant but if your looking for a quiet place to eat with great service then this is the place to go. The sort of place you would go to after a few drinks with the Mrs or some mates. Not rowdy or loud, a good quiet little get away that's great for locals to go to after a night at the cinema, the theatre or to round off a nights conversation in one of the local pubs. A place I frequently visit and will frequently return to.
